Hellsing - June 28, 2005 12:30 PM (GMT)
which do you think was the best and the worse gundam series ?

Yuffie - June 28, 2005 12:46 PM (GMT)
I haven't seen every single gundam but...

Best:Gundam Wing
Worst:Gundam Seed

WardRBG5 - June 29, 2005 05:08 AM (GMT)
Best-Gundam Wing/Seed

(Its a tie. I got into Wing more but Seed is a good series as well.)

Worst- G Gundam

(Even tho I watched it. I liked the idea of an open cockpit to control the Gundam.)

Kaisermikeb - June 29, 2005 06:01 AM (GMT)
G doesn't count and you know it!

Best: Original
Worst: seed

and hellsing, are you TRYING to suck up to me! You're posts are just a little too cool!

Hellsing - June 29, 2005 12:05 PM (GMT)
Just been watching too much gundam wing....
that last part didn't make much sense. But then a lot of stuff dosen't make sense to me like poltics,my school, or mundanes.

demon_cat_snowy - June 30, 2005 01:14 AM (GMT)
Best: Wing
Worst: I have no clue since the only other Gundam stuff I've seen is a bit of G Gundam, though I've heard bad things about Seed. Pretty sure it's Seed.

But I do love GW, it'd have to rank among my all-time favorite anime. *pets her 1/100 scale Altron model*

Hellsing - June 30, 2005 12:15 PM (GMT)
Lucky. who's your favorite character?

RBGC-Ender - June 30, 2005 02:21 PM (GMT)
best: 08th
worse: ... i have no idea

Kaisermikeb - June 30, 2005 05:12 PM (GMT)
Amaro has grown on me a lot, but char is still one of the coolest guys of all time. Of course, even Char has a hard time competing with Slegger Law, the man who decked just about everyone (in a progressive way) before smashing his fighter into The Big Zam!!
I also have a weird attraction towards Chalia Bull, and of course Ranba Rall

My least favorite would have to be Quess though, hands down (but with Marimeia as a near second)

Favorite female? Either Keshiria Zabi (sp?), or Kiki Rosita.

Least favorite male? Gihren is pretty contemptable but that's the point, so probably the mechanic guy from 08th

Yuffie - June 30, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)
Favorite: Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing-His braid is fun...I also like his cheerful sarcastic personality too.
Least Favorite: Zechs Merquise. He makes the gundam wing boys look sane...

WardRBG5 - June 30, 2005 10:41 PM (GMT)
I always liked Trowa and Heavy Arms. Although his hair was really weird.

RBGCloud - July 1, 2005 07:47 PM (GMT)
I <3 Quatre. He was my first anime crush. Hell, GW was my first anime besides Pokemon, and that doesn't count.

WardRBG5 - July 3, 2005 03:52 PM (GMT)
Quatre...he was Sandrock's pilot right?

I wanna watch Gundam Wing now. ~rummages through collectino to find taped episodes.~

Hellsing - July 4, 2005 12:59 PM (GMT)
yep :D

Hellsing - July 4, 2005 01:31 PM (GMT)
I just saw the art for gundam G....It sucks.

WardRBG5 - July 8, 2005 03:44 AM (GMT)
Yeah G Gundam wasn't that great. The plot was way too goofy and it ended in a cheesy way. Only thing I liked from that series is the style of cockpit they used, don't remember the name but the user wore a body suit that would allow its Gundam to mimic its movments and fighting styles.

Oh and on note another terrible Gundam Series..it was the one that premiered on Cartoon network and all the Gundams were little and in CG. I thought that was awful.

Yuffie - July 11, 2005 02:47 PM (GMT)
That was one I was thinking I should have put as the worst after I made my post. Gundam SD I think it was called...it was suppose to replace Gundam Wing because Gundam Wing had been deemed too violent. I saw part of an episode and screamed.

Kyo_RBG - July 16, 2005 10:02 PM (GMT)
All I know is if Gundam Wing was too violent then how the hell was MR. and Mrs Smith PG13

Kaisermikeb - July 18, 2005 07:49 PM (GMT)
The original SD gundam totally rocks, but it's all parody. The new one is so freaking lame!!

RBGC-Ender - July 19, 2005 02:19 PM (GMT)
i agree... the orginal SD was amazing... and the new one was so stupid it was funny at time... i totally forgot the orinal SD though... that great

Cartoon Network has shows that get cancelled because parents see them and call to Network complaining about the violance -waves RIP Samurai Jack flag- and then they're gone.

Gundam SD was horrible. Espeon rocks! Whats so bad about Gundam Seed, I haven't finished all of it yet but I love the opening for episodes 1-13 ( I think)-T.M. Revolutions " Invoke". I love that song...maybe thats why I like Seed?

Mashidar - February 7, 2006 05:09 PM (GMT)
Another old topic that I had to post in. I do enjoy reading what everyone's different interests are in terms of gundam.

Best
For a long time my fav was the orginal gundam. Loved Amaro and Char. Something about how they interacted as well as just the overall feel of the show. Now while I never got to finish the original, i still would of counted it as my best.

Then I saw Turn-A Gundam and fell in love with the overall story and music. It's also a series that I felt had closure in the ending and didn't have the expected ending some would of wanted to see.

Anyone else seen Turn A Gundam? o_O

Worst

Gundam Wing, something about the series just never set well with me. The super powered gundams and then the OAV Endless Waltz just put a bad taste in my mouth.

G-Gundam I would of put 2nd on my list here, but something about it I enjoyed. Perhaps some aspects of the story, but it's been ages that I have seen the show.

Mishikotoko - February 7, 2006 06:13 PM (GMT)
I have to say, that I loved Gundam Seed, and I am looking forward t Seed Destiny. As for the worst....*shudders* I will make no mention on it..lol

Kaisermikeb - February 7, 2006 08:49 PM (GMT)
I would consider seed as my worst. I mean... G barely even counts, so scratch that one. Seed never drew me in, nor made me want to watch more, and it doesn't take much for a gundam show to make me want to watch more! Also the fact that they had a gundam jacking is just so.... bleh. It made sense in 0083, the zeons didn't have the means to produce their own. In F91 no one had mobile suits! But in Seed? WHY did Zaft need to steal one, why couldn't they just have them!? There was no reason behind it!

Mishikotoko - February 7, 2006 08:53 PM (GMT)
Seed was less fighting over all, and more storyline...(well to some account..)

To tell the truth it is a tie between Seed, and Wing for me.

Kaisermikeb: *laughs* I always thought that was kinda odd myself. Not just that they could make them but for Seed and even Seed Des. It deals with stolen gundams at the start. Makes me wonder why they can't afford to focus more on security for there models. Or just start making cheep knock off versions and let those ones get stolen.

Mishikotoko: I think the story was a big factor for me in Seed as well. I liked the development of some of Kira but if it's the story you liked, you might like the Turn A Series as it delt with story over mecha battles.

PS: It's such a slow day today. ~_~ Guess my punishment is to sit around all day while I wait for the wife to finish up classes at OSU.

Kaisermikeb - February 7, 2006 09:48 PM (GMT)
I watch gundam shows for the story, and that's why I didn't like Seed. At least Wing did a decent job at faking intrigue (which worked well until like... you think about it)

In terms of cold hard plot... that's difficult. Turn A might be it. (I still need to see a lot of Zeta stuff though).
And of course, the original wins hands down in terms of character development.

In terms of Gundam at least though, I like shows that develope the world. Blue Destiny is cool for that reason, as is 08th ms team, 0080, and the new Igloo. Even the original did a good job of introducing the world and the events and fronts and stuff, while still just showing you a small part of it. You never really got the impression that the weight of the world was on White Bases shoulders, hell, half the series it was off on its own! Even in the bigger battles after Gundam had proved itself as an influential weapon it was still just part of larger offences that were won by numbers, and NEVER did the federation send Armaro off on some "scouting mission" or anything lame like that where the secret weapon or it's pilot would be in serious risk of destruction or capture (sure it happened all the time when White Base was stranded, but that was when they had all of three pilots, and its constant use because a significant part of the story development).

Ok, sorry, I didn't intend for that to become a fanboys rant!

I just got a new gundam manga though, so I think maybe I'll go read that now!

I never had the option of watching alot of the original gundam. I saw a few shows maybe the first 15-20 i think but that was it. Watching more is always an option down the road. Zeta is another series people have said is rather good, but i've not had the chance to watch it yet.

Nothing wrong with a fanboy rant. =p Frankly it's good for me to be around people that have reasons to go with why they like a series instead of just liking it for say one role in the series. *chuckles*

So far i've really enjoyed reading alot of the threads where alot of you seem to debate different things and views in a series. It's nice to think for a change. =p

Yeah, I know. I have seen all of the gundams...(except for destiny I think.) I just don't remember much about them ^_^

I have to agree w/ the lovely Gundam Wing thing. <3 I loved it too.
^^

And I'm sadened w/ all the boos at G-Gundam.
I really liked it, its my third up there w/ Gundam Wing.
08th MS Team was my second. <3 I used to watch it like crazy, my friend and I still quote it.
I may still have it on tape somewhere....
Yay for toonami in the 6th grade!
