Dark Horse has posted an interview with Yoshitaka Amano. The interview discusses Vampire Hunter D, the comparison between fine art and commercial art, and Amano's recent, first, visit to San Diego Comic-con.

Nice find. I've always appreciated Amano's style of character design and it's cool to know even a little more about how he sees the world. I find his description of D fairly interesting, however, because I have never really seen any of the antagonistic elements in the D stories as having that "inhuman" sort of beauty. They have an otherworldly elegance, but I don't think it unfair to draw a distinction there.
I didn't realize he was involved in D actually, I always thought of him as the Angel Egg guy.
