I think this is the right place to post this, but I wanted to ask this question and see what kind of replies I get. My topic is the good versus evil sterotype that you see everywhere. Which side is truly greater? The side of light or the side of darkness? And which do you prefer? Heck if this becomes popular enough maybe a panel based on this idea could be set up at AP.

And btw..my vote's for the heroes. :D

It's all about the Evil man

both are pretty equal. Evil usually is cooler thought.

Evil usually gets cooler outfits, but I think Good will always win, at least in the long run. Evil tends to be like a motorcycle: good at the start of the race, great acceleration, but good is like a truck: dependable, big fuel tank, will last far longer.

The people will always turn to good in the end. Evil divides itself, and it's all about gain, but good will outlast that, because when the chips are down and the promise of a big gain is faded, people will look at what really matters!

Evil is all about greed and power, and Good is all about doing what's right and being responsible for your actions.

But yeah..evil does usally get the cooler costumes..... ;)

Also Good guy usually look like chumps at first but at the end of the series they all of a sudden kick serious ass. I.E. Yamuko from 3x3 Eyes

I have to say good, because even though they look cooler, the good guys usually have better personalities and are a little more standable...

I honestly thought evil would get more votes....every body is so anti hero these days..... :blink:

But one a different note, evil people get the best hair. And the best eyes. And the best laugh. What do heroes get? Motorcycles. And even evil people get motorcycles sometimes. Or big, black horses. That's another thing. Villains get to wear black! It's like a trademark, unless the villain is a clown...
And evil keeps coming back! When's the last time you saw the hero come back to life? Example.
Aeris was good. She died. She ain't comin back. Sephiroth was bad. He's come back two times now at least. And he has clones! Aeris doesn't have clones.
But yeah... my vote is for evil.

As big and bad as evil can be, and while you make alot of good points Cloud, good wins out. It all comes down to balance and order, for light there must be darkness and all that nonsense.

Besides good guys get the incredible weapons and powers, and evil can always be beaten by one special move or spell.

My vote's always gonna be for good. So there. :P

Cloud, Good always wins FOR the reasons you mention. Evil keeps coming back, but that's because good is always there and has never left!

And as for resurecting... look at Goku. He died like 12 times!

I think Trent makes a really good point. After all, whose to say whats always good, or evil? What is one without the other?

This also happens to be very well reflected, (in my humble opinion,) in Fooly Cooly. Hey Trent, can I quote that and use it as the topic on one of my FLCL disscution papers that I'm going to write?

In anime, a genre FILLED with charactes who have fully justified positions, whether they be protagonist or antagonist, where there is ALMOST NEVER a "Bad guy" who's really bad, you choose the ONE SHOW to come out in the last 5 years that actually has a TRUELY EVIL CHARACTER and write your paper about mixed motivations and no clear distinction between good and evil?
