Title: Holiday Haul
smokie - December 25, 2006 04:22 PM (GMT)
Hey everybody! What phat loot did you recieve this holiday season?
My buddy got me a sweet General Grevious action figure. w00t! Plus I scored a DS Lite, Final Fantasy III and my very own copy of KISS Saves Santa.
Kaisermikeb - December 26, 2006 12:50 AM (GMT)
I got a preorder for Gunbuster! I also got an amp for my guitar.
It don't care if that's all I got, because gunbuster is worth THREE Christmas's to me!

Lothlin - December 26, 2006 02:35 AM (GMT)
Hrm. Well, the only thing worth noting is an IOU for a Wii. Why an IOU and not the system?... my parents kept getting stuck in line behind assholes that were selling them on ebay. And apparantly, my dad almost got arrested, because he ended up going into an employees entrance at a mall (with a few other folks,) got in, ALMOST got the system sold to him... and had security tell him to leave.
*sigh*
I get to go sunday and camp out around midnight, methinks.

| I get to go sunday and camp out around midnight, methinks. |
Good luck getting one, then!
Here's my Christmas haul:
-$35 in cash
-A Mythbusters book
-Some strange little weather forecaster thing
-Star Fox Command (DS game)
-Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Wii game)
-Mega Man Network Transmission (Gamecube game)
-Sudoku for Dummies
-The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (all 5 books in the trilogy plus an additional story)
-A titanium spork (yes, really. Thinkgeek sells them.)
-Evanescence's The Open Door (music CD)
-Four more rechargeable AA batteries
-A pi-patterned pie dish
Kaisermikeb - December 26, 2006 06:35 AM (GMT)
A dish?
I was with you through the titanium fork, even through the batteries, and I was willing to overlook that you have a Evanescence CD...
But who the hell gives a 17 year old kid a pie dish?!
smokie - December 26, 2006 07:08 AM (GMT)
Mike leave him alone he needs the pie dish to eat pies out of using his titanium spork. Congrats on scoring Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy comrade. Not to offend you Plastic Knife Ninja but would you happen to be fat? I'm a hefty man myself and I know that fat people love pie and Mike probably has a hard time understanding the depth of that love.
Good luck getting the Wii Lothlin. Have fun camping. I hope the weather is decent for you. I wish one of my parents loved me enough to chance getting arrested to provide me with the 14t3s7 in \/1|)30 G4/\/\34G3.
Holy Shit Plastic Knife Ninja I just noticed your Mr. Universe avatar! Badass fellow Browncoat very badass.
Mashidar - December 26, 2006 08:15 AM (GMT)
-FF III (NDS)
-$13,000 Medical Bill (wife was in the hospital for 6 days, oh and before insurance)
-$903 Medical Bill (For my trip to the ER while she was in the hospital due to over working myself, Iv's are great. No insurance for me alas)
-A doctor telling us that my wife can expect to give birth in about three weeks as long as things go well.
Overall there was not alot earned in terms of loot for the holiday. But it does not really bother me this year like it would have in the past. Perhaps it's because I know i'll be a dad really soon so that's like a gift in itself. Corny perhaps, but it's how I look at it.
Lunar - December 26, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
Mashidar, that's fabulous! Congratulations ahead of time.

Is the baby a boy or a girl?
Let's see...

-A RAZR (<---holy jamoley!)
-A Sansa MP3 player
-Clothes
-KNEE-HIGH BOOTS! (I've been wanting these since sixth grade)
-Perfume... my first-ever bottle

Yuffie - December 26, 2006 03:23 PM (GMT)
Congrats on the baby!
Myself
-Pack of Pokemon Cards
-Stuff Corsola
-Nintendo DS Lite, pink one. It's really spiffy.
-Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red-Fun Game.

-A book on to defend yourself in a robot uprising
-Winged cat t-shirt
-A coat
-A lamp
-Slippers
-Socks. And socks. And socks.

-Various gift cards
-And two cans of fish food.
A lot of it is from family who's counting the stuff for both birthday and christmas.
I guess I'm old fashioned though...what I enjoyed most at Christmas was people's faces when the saw what I got them. Though I was expecting horror, but everyone strangely at least tolerated there's...

Plastic Knife Ninja - December 27, 2006 12:18 AM (GMT)
Come on, Mike, you can't deny the coolness of pi.
If it were just an ordinary pie dish, then I probably wouldn't have gotten it. I don't even eat pie all that often, so it's really more of a "just because" gift than anything else.
Most importantly, though, congratulations to Mashidar.
Alex - December 27, 2006 06:52 AM (GMT)
A Pi-patterned pie plate sounds awesome!
So my haul? Not bad.

Novelty beer bottle tags
Storage boxes for my knitting/crochet supplies, plus yarn
Gift cards/certificates to JoAnn Fabrics, Giant Eagle, and Yoko (the Japanese restaurant in Toledo)
Also, my sister made me a

Thats what I would have to ask about the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy movie. Although I must admit I found the dolphin musical scene amusing.

Heh, Akane is one of the top anime female persona's in my book. Perhaps it's due to the fact that she's one of the first anime leads that I was exposed to and most of the others I saw afterwards ended up being rather "loose" in terms of there morals or actions. Her rough nature lead to the sweet moments of the series when she would expose her soft side to Ranma.
As a sucker for romantic anime's people like Akane make the show worth watching for me. If she was as "open" as say Shampoo tends to be I doubt I would of enjoyed her persona as much.
As for BSG's new series. I like it alot. I have a feeling that it will connect with the old BSG series in terms of story sometime in the near future. could be wrong, but something just makes me think i'm not.
Miccy - January 1, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
Ranma 1/2 was my first Manga. :3 I was into it for a while--but it was impossibly to get passed book 10, when the stores had such jumbled book numbers!
It was nearly impossibly to find anything in order.
But I did watch the first season of it.
I love Romantic anime's too. I wouldn't say I'm a sucker for them, though.

If anyone wants to get me a preasent for chrstmas or my birthday( which is 3 days before the con starts..) I want an OoT soundtrack. xD

Would anyone get me anything?
NO.
Wait--xD Yeah they did. <333 Anyway--
Lilith's Dark Shadow - January 1, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
Ahh good old Ranma 1/2... i never liked the idea of Ranma and Akane, just doesn't make a bit of sense, well untill the whole Pheonix Mountain arc, but he'd do that for anyone.
Although you can blame my dislike of that on the Knights of the True Fiancee for anyone who's familar with the Ranma fanfic scene.
