rikku7504 - December 14, 2006 10:40 PM (GMT)

WHAT?! People pay you to sing Christmas songs? As a kid, going to my grandparents house on Christmas Eve, My aunts would force me, my sister, and all my cousins to go around the neighborhood with them and sing a bunch of songs... and I never saw a penny!
That sucks.

man that had to suck, i would have never went along with crap like that.
Miccy - December 15, 2006 11:04 AM (GMT)
It must.
Maybe if we trailed around the rich side of town.
But I'd never do it in my town--too many kids--anyway--

I'd do caroling for money.
rikku7504 - December 15, 2006 07:55 PM (GMT)
Yeah I would never do it for free. usually the money is split by how many people there are. And sense i'm a band geek

i will probally be bringing my instrument.

Rich people are the biggest cheapskates, I wouldn't really go for those neighborhoods for carolling...
My grandparents for example, live in a huge southern plantation-style mansion on top of a hill with a long, looped driveway leading up to the front door. Biggest house in the neighborhood-- on Halloween so many kids decide to take the long walk up the driveway in hopes of getting king size Reese's and gourmet chocolates or something.
What do my grandparents hand out?
Tootsie rolls.
Hahahah, suckers. And yeah, that's the neighborhood where we did our carolling, a bunch of doctors, lawyers, and real estate investors live there. They never paid us for our singing.
Vincent - December 19, 2006 10:22 PM (GMT)
I'd do it.. But with my voice the people would be paying me to go away rather then as a thank you.. Lol.
smokie - December 20, 2006 02:13 AM (GMT)
You are NOT supposed to recieve money for caroling. You are supposed to do it out of the goodness of your heart and the spirit of the season and shit like that. Like a few years back I went caroling and it was to cheer up the elderly and the disabled. I didn't get shit out of it but it at least cheered those folks up a bit if only briefly.
*shakes head*
Kids these days.

"...We wish you a merry christmas, and a happy new year.
Now bring us some figgy pudding..."
No, I'm pretty sure Carroling and wasseling have always been done with the understanding that the houses you stop at give you some food, gift, or drink. That's how it's always worked.
smokie - December 20, 2006 05:41 AM (GMT)
Good point Mike, I now remember The Wind in the Willows and the caroling that took place in it, but turning it entirely into a capitalist venture is still a bit out of its intended spirit. But Hell whatever works. I still don't think I would be eager to go caroling reguardless. Especially if I were a chick. I mean you would be going directly to the pychos. It would be a quick way to get tied up in some creepy old dudes rape shack or end up an assortment of body parts in a freezer.
Kaisermikeb - December 20, 2006 07:05 AM (GMT)
Yeah... all those psychos who attack groups of 10 or 15 people in well lit neighborhoods. They're all over the place.
Start thinking before you post dude! You've been loosing a lot of cred this week!
rpb3000 - December 20, 2006 06:37 PM (GMT)
We should have a cred monitoring system.
Or not.
I think AP should go caroling through the ghettos with songs of Gundams and bunny girls..

I just got back from caroling yesterday and ending up getting $65. It would be really hard to divide it because people would only get $3 each so we decided to donate to the Wyandotte Hospital. O well atleast it's for somthing good.
Yuffie - December 22, 2006 03:01 PM (GMT)
That's a pretty cool thing to do with the money.
Vincent - December 22, 2006 11:51 PM (GMT)
No it isen't. You should have volunteered to donate the money for them so they wouldn't have to go all the way there then kept it for yourself.

Kaisermikeb - December 24, 2006 08:06 PM (GMT)
Santa doesn't control the weather!!
It's Jesus who does that!
Yuffie - December 24, 2006 08:15 PM (GMT)
