Title: Toonami?

Kaisermikeb - June 25, 2005 05:11 PM (GMT)
I was thinking a while ago that it would be cool to have the old Toonami line up in one of the rooms in the afternoon.

Do their best four shows, dubbed, WITH the toonami in-betweens. I think it would be kind of cool to watch like... Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo!, Sailor moon, and Dragon ball Z... in that order. It would be nostolgic!

Kyo_RBG - June 25, 2005 08:49 PM (GMT)
That would be cool to watch. Damn its been a while.

pandad102 - June 25, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
I can't remember that far back Tenchi on Cartoon Network lol been far too long

narultimatehero - June 25, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
Make sure to have Big O and Outlaw star up too, they only ever showed like one episode of those.

Craig - June 26, 2005 12:27 AM (GMT)
Meh. Cartoon Network would have our asses.

Kaisermikeb - June 26, 2005 02:36 AM (GMT)
well, hopefully they'll sponsor us or give us permisison. They don't own the rights to the shows though, and we can get those easily enough.

WardRBG5 - June 27, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
Dude that would rock. That's when toonami was Great, not just average. Big O, Outlaw Star, heck I think they even had Transformers for awhile. Seeing old school toonami anime would rock!

sixpod - June 28, 2005 11:46 PM (GMT)

let's do a before and after....

Toonami-bad ass version
--Dragon Ball Z (anything after Frieza saga sucks ass)
--Sailor Moon (I just happen to own the entire box set of season 1 uncut..in japanese..with english subtitles)
--Tenchi Muyo (OMFG this show fucking pwns and anyone who says otherwise I will slice your throat open...cut off your balls....and shove them in your newly acquired throat hole)
--Gundam Zero (cuz come on it's just cool)

Toonami-now
--Dragon Ball GT (SUCKS)
--Bobobo-bo-bo-bobo (ok..I'm gonna stop here...I don't think I need to go any farther to prove that toonami sucks ass now)

rpb3000 - October 25, 2005 11:20 PM (GMT)
Hmm. Outlaw Star and Tenchi. Those were the days. Actually, better yet, what about the original Adult Swim lineup? Back when it was all Toonami-reruns or Toonami destined stuff? They had what, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Tenchi, Pilot Candidate, Gundam 0083, and uh something else. Anyways it was l33t. Then they got YuYu Hakusho and we were all like "YEAH!" but then they dropped Tenchi and Outlaw Star and we boycotted AS until they got Trigun... I'll shut up now.

Does anyone remember when Toonami usedta air movies? Blue Sub 6! That was great. I still think Adult Swim should have one day of their week devoted to movies. ..sigh..

inuyasha_goth - October 26, 2005 12:33 AM (GMT)
If theres going to be any old shows from cartoon network, you must get witch hunter robin!OMFG i miss that show so much....*tear forms in eye*Oh,and wolf's rain is another must!!!!

Yuffie - November 5, 2005 06:32 PM (GMT)
Or Voltron. (Go Lion?) Tell me, does anyone remember that show or what the heck is what about? I remember coming home from school in first grade and watching it, even though I couldn't figure out what was going on. I liked the robots, I remember that...

inuyasha_goth - November 5, 2005 06:57 PM (GMT)
I remember that show...I didn't musch care for it though...Now witch hunter robin was the best!Im actually thinking of making a amon or micheal cosplay costume.

Kaisermikeb - November 5, 2005 08:33 PM (GMT)
Voltron is a classic! It's cool that you were even watching back then!

InuGoth, what your listing are all really new additions to the adult swim line-up, we're talking about stuff from before your time here. (even though people younger than you remember them)

Wyatt - November 6, 2005 01:38 PM (GMT)
Back when Toonami first came out. Fifth grade. I even remember the first two shows: Sailor Moon and Robotech. Robotech was so fucking cool. Who remebers what came after those?

Masami Eiri - November 6, 2005 04:18 PM (GMT)
I remember Tenchi on it at one point, that and Gundam Wing, but cable didn't stretch to my particular corner of Nowhere , OH, and I very rarely saw anything of Toonami.

Kaisermikeb - November 6, 2005 10:36 PM (GMT)
There was also Dragon Ball Z, Thundercats, and Reboot, but those all kind of sucked.

The Female Eiri Yuki - November 7, 2005 03:16 AM (GMT)
Gods I used to love ThunderCats....
But that was waaaay back. Like while I was a little kid in '85/'86. *nostalgic*

The History Follower - November 20, 2005 04:58 AM (GMT)
Can anyone name the first three shows from Toonami?

The Female Eiri Yuki - November 20, 2005 02:24 PM (GMT)
Well, I remember watching Thundercats, Voltron, and Robotech. Someone else mentioned Sailor Moon above, but if it was on I never watched it... Am I right?

The History Follower - November 20, 2005 06:19 PM (GMT)
Close, but like I said original three.

Can anyone name the first three shows from Toonami?

This was back when it was hosted by the dude from Space Ghosts: C2C, ne? Uhm, I started watching sometime in their, so I'm probably wrong, but I'm gonna say Johnny Quest, Reboot, and Godzilla.

The History Follower - November 30, 2005 06:46 PM (GMT)
Did they even have Godizilla on there?

Kaisermikeb - November 30, 2005 08:22 PM (GMT)
Robotech is probably one of them.

And I'm not sure a godzilla cartoon was EVER shown on CN!

rpb3000 - November 30, 2005 10:23 PM (GMT)
The old one with Godzilla and Godzuki (or how ever you spell the goofball tiny Godzilla thing that was on it) was on the Toonami lineup back in the day, along with Johnny Quest (also the old one, later to be replaced with a newer one). And I remember Reboot was on there too. I remember these for a fact, as I was mildly agitated when they took them off. However, I liked the anime better, and they got DBZ and SailorMoon, so yeah. Go them.

Speaking of old Toonami memories, is Tom still around? What about the Absolution? I know they moved Toonami to weekends to make way for that übercrap known as Miguzi, but I never saw it in its new form. And did anyone else like Tom better when he had a nuclear reactor for a belly?

The History Follower - December 1, 2005 06:40 AM (GMT)
Tom and the Absolution are still around. They don't really have much to do with the show anymore.

You guys are still pretty off.

demon_cat_snowy - December 1, 2005 01:45 PM (GMT)
Well, according to this site, Toonami premiered with Blundercats, a Stupidmad short, Voltron, Birdman, and The Lame Adventures of Johnny Quest (Sorry, couldn't think up alternate titles for Voltron & Birdman).

Dude, the Godzilla cartoon? THAT brings back some memories...

Kaisermikeb - December 2, 2005 03:43 AM (GMT)
Blundercats?! Man you're lame!

demon_cat_snowy - December 2, 2005 04:05 AM (GMT)
Hey, I was still half asleep! :P

OUTLAW STAR! HELL YEAH!!!! we should show that it was the best anime I saw on toonami!

Mishikotoko - February 8, 2006 07:16 PM (GMT)
They stoped showing to so long ago though.

ookami-san - February 9, 2006 09:50 PM (GMT)
I dont know if this could be considered anime but Reboot. O and Gundum, sailormoon, DBZ, now they have things like zatchbell, DBZ, IGPX, Naruto. I dunno just some input :2cents: thats my 2 cents
