I will be surprised if anyone replys to this. Haha. Does anyone on here even play with pokemon cards any more? You should totally start up a game of pokemon. xD I haven't touched it in years, but I still have the deck I won the last tournament they had where I live with. xD

I still have the deck that took 6th! Okay, nowhere as cool...it's been years since I've played, but I still have the deck.
Though what about a tournment with the pokemon games? I know a lot more people play that and would sign up! Though it would be something more fitted for next year, with the release for Diamond and Pearl, and Pokemon Battle Revolution.
Though for Pokemon Battle Revolution, I don't know how workable that would be for a convention, but I can see it working for Dimond and Pearl with the DS's.
Um, what do you call a multitude of the Nintendo DS?

I've got a starter deck I bought a few weeks ago...

lol I still have my cards, the only thing though is that I don't use them I just collect them. So I really don't have a deck.

We could just have an old fashioned pokemon stadium tournament. N64 or gamecube version. Or have sub categories and do both.

Pokemon Colosseum! I still need to try the battle mode on that with my friend.
The only worry with any versions before third generation, is from what I can tell with my friends, some cartriges erase themselves(happened in silver and crystal, haven't checked my red.) and well, rental pokemon suck.
A tournment would also require someone who was familiar with the system to set it up-Allow Legendnaries? What about Level limits? Hold items? Blisseys?(How many people even know the Blissey issue?)
Personally, I'd love to do something outragous, no pokemon above level 5! Let's see pure egg moves, tms/hms, shell bells and ivs fight it out! That would be awesome.
But I think it would be a lot of fun. I also have a feeling I may be getting myself signed up to do this if this were to happen. ^^;

I still have selective Pokemon cards.
I could never entirely grasp the concept of the entire game, its like, I played, yes, but when I was younger, I never fully understood how to correctly play the game, so I just played.

No, I don't know the blissey issue, and we can worry about rules closer to the con, this probably won't even be happening. =p

I didn't mean that, I meant the competitve battling system.
The more I think of it, the more I like it. Pokemon Colossuem with a limit of level 5. It would keep there from being an issue with different levels of pokemon, and different skill levels. Probably would end up more fun then competitive, which the empathsize should be on. Pokemon who usually are overlooked for battle would be given a chance, a different way of thinking for battle, and unusual!
Don't say that until it's been shot down Vincent! There's always a chance. And if not this year, maybe next year.
The blissey issue is whether they should be allowed in competitive battling. They aren't a legendnary, but their stats in hp are the highest there is, and their special defense isn't shabby either. For most people one of these can strech out the battle to ridiculous lengths of time(I spent a hour and a half battling one, and that was the only on the trainer had. Worse, it was a game trainer). It's considered by some to be really unfair and cheap to use.
Although really competitive people have made their teams to counter Blisseys.
