Excellent. The world would be a better place if everyone was a Buddhist (it's the only religion I'm not against), and followed the eight Sila. Much better than the 10 commandments (partially in the fact that they're NOT commandments).
And Funky, try some intelligent conversation!

Funky_monkey - March 21, 2007 10:31 AM (GMT)
no offence to sunny but it was apretty random post...

strife you need to open the f u c k up. try being a little more tolerant of other religions. i hate christianity, ut it dosent mean i am agaisnt it. if it makes people happy thats awesome.

buddism isnt a religion. it is a way of life.

strife dont be so poinionated.

i myself would be an agnostic, im willing to beleive in a god, but since you cant prove to me god exists i dont really give a flying f*ck. i have also read the satanic bible, interesting stuff, but i dont agree with it all (no it isnt all about worshiping satan). some of my closest mates are satanist, perfectly normal people.

strife, like i said before, be a little more tollerant.

CloudStrife - March 21, 2007 11:24 AM (GMT)
I'm perfectly tollerent of people choosing. Sure, that's OK, if they WANT to be a Christian, a Muslim or a Jew, etc, etc, I have no problem with that. It's the fact that religion is twisted to suit people's needs that I don't like. It's probably overused to reference the crusades, but still, what did they do? Conviniently forget their basic commandments? If someone's going to follow a religion, they shouldn't pick and choose which parts they follow.

sunny_sav - March 21, 2007 02:35 PM (GMT)
LOL yes it was very random :D but i was alooone so i thought i'd be myself...random....

Yeah well i've been thinking about researching buddhism for awhile, and i finally did and the morals and beleifs and EVERYTHING just sound great and makes sense and yeah...

Like DON'T TAKE THE LIFE OF ANYTHING LIVING lol....

Also I like the fact brought up, isnt it a bit unfair to send someone to hell for eternal torture just coz for 70-80 years they wernt a christian or they stuffed up a lot, and isnt it a bit soft to give someone eternal bliss in heaven for 70-80 years of being christian or whatever and doing some good deeds....

i just really like it all...Buddhism is so accepting and peaceful...its all about being a good person and loving and...yeah...anyway....

I agree that a lot of religions can be peaceful and stuff, but like cloud said, way too many people just pick and chooses what they like. Buddhism is about beins the best and most peaceful and calm and caring and pefect spirit you can be....dont kill, dont torture, dont hate, dont rape, dont abuse, dont crave....if you follow simple rules you'll be happy. Wheareas in other religions??? do what you want, coz God will forgive you coz you say your Catholic or Christian or whatever.

Funky_monkey - March 22, 2007 06:28 AM (GMT)
ok you have some misconceptions there, but i get the point.

i also hate christianity cause devote bible bashers refuse to beleive in evolutions, and ignore obviouse scientific scvience signs, and justify it by saying dumb ###### like "dinosaur bones were put there to test our fait"

the whole heven hell thing i thought was pretty dumb aswell. "woah woah woah! he is a non-believer? STARIGHT TO HELL FOR HIM!" --- lamz0r.

lawl!

I am not even going to enter this argument, but just let me state the point that there are ALOT of holes in much of what some people are saying...

in fact...i dont find much on this board i feel compelled to comment on anymore...i might consider retiring from it altogether and spending more time learning how to play my harmonica. in other words, i guess you could say that im BORED of the BOARD! hahaha...

*sam wipes tear away from eye and nods to self with contentment*

fare-the-well!

That is all

behold the path leads to a place, yet the way cannot be different for others because if it was different then they would be on different paths.
And this is the law that there is one way and one path and one place.
And again behold that if this place is perfect, then where this place is not , then that place will be imperfect ,for truly if 2 places are perfect then they become one place that is perfected, and so on that the more places that are perfect , then the more that is perfected.
And again i say that if a place is perfect and another place is imperfect then these two places oppose one another and cannot join, neither can they join until one is changed , and thus the cycle is continual that the good places have one path and the evil places have one path, for both path go in opposite directions.

How can ye follow the good path and follow the evil path at the same time?
Therefore you must commit to more than good will as good will is just a thought and you must walk the good path so actions must follow good will.
None have come to the perfect place and said there is no commitment for entering the perfect place, if they did then they lied, for a standard of perfection is what the perfect place is built on, therefore be ye perfect .
Thats the difference between good and evil and heaven and hell........cors

Well, thanks for trying, but I don't think I can understand what you're saying, Zion. Perhaps I'll be able to extract the wisdom of your words if I read it again...
