When I went to Knebworth as an eager "RailRider" as a kid, I was told that the 2ft gauge line was being closed down in the next couple of weeks, which it obviously was. I recall being told by the operator that the line was being sold to a "Children's home" - is that what really became of the track? I think some of the stock is littered around the country now, but not sure where.

I think it went to Stoke Poges kids' home as part of the Slough & Windsor Rly society. Nowt else in the memory banks today though...it ain't there now I'm sure.
