| Oh my God...they heard us. Less than a day after we go on an anti-Square-Enix rant, wondering specifically what logical reason there is behind only bringing Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope to the Xbox 360...and bam, the rumor shows up that gets us all excited: according to translated information from gaming site Gamekyo, Square-Enix has now confirmed that SO4 is also coming to the PlayStation 3. The game was revealed way back in February for the Xbox 360, to be released in all major territories, but PS3 owners were disappointed when Square-Enix didn't include their console in the announcement. This made little sense, as JRPGs sell best in Japan - where the 360 is essentially non-existent - and up until now, the popular Star Ocean franchise has only been on PlayStation platforms. We certainly don't mind if 360 owners around the world get a shot at the new game, but we could never figure out why PS3 owners wouldn't also get the anticipated title. Now, we may have to eat our own words...perhaps Square-Enix is just late to the PS3 party. However, bear in mind that this is nothing more than an unconfirmed rumor; we're going to have to wait to get the official word from S-E on this one. But it's gonna spark plenty of conversation, now isn't it? |
