It seems as though I may have run into a snag with the scoreboards for when we upgrade. As of right now, the table bbcode does not align right and makes the scoreboards look funky and crappy. HTML, like I do them now, will no longer work in topics. They'll work in the cutsom webpage section of the board but again, the html doesn't translate right for some reason, making the scoreboards look awful. So my attempt at fixing this is to just simply remove the tables and do one long list.

Granted, there's a change that when we upgrade(possibly in the next batch, I haven't decided yet), this stuff might be fixed. I guess this is a back up plan and honestly really only applies to the people who care about the scoreboards which is why I included a poll. I rarely get responses when I ask for opinions, so...:doh :lol

Though feel free to post opinions. I'm always open to ideas and such. :) Remember that this isn't a definitive vote either, just testing the waters.

i kinda liked the tables on zeta, but lists are fine too, i guess.

the problems with the tables on zeta is nothing lines up, they always stretch to the length of the page regardless whereas the ones we have now stretch only to fix the content inside of it...if these issues get fixed then tables will rule. i spent time yesterday trying aall sorts of stuff to get the content in the cells to line up. i only got the titles (points, size, etc) to line up but I can't get the scores to line up. there's a part in the CSS that i need to change but i can't figure out which part or if it's even there and that i need to add it. i tried a few suggestions people offered but nothing worked.

except now in IE, not FF, the numbers and bullets for the lists disappeared. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate CSS(and IE).

Which parts get cut off?

I cna definitely make the content in the cells smaller if need be.

I kinda like the table bbcode as it's easier to edit and create than the html tables but it's a bit less customizable (to me anyways without CSS knowledge, i'll have to look into it).

It's always been a dream to have an automated scoreboard but doubt that'll ever happen.

Out of the past 500 visits to the board, both recurring and new visitors(tracked over a span of six hours, ie, if you visit, then leave for six hours, come back, it counts you again), 3 were in the 800x600 resolution.

So i would like to think it won't be too much of a problem. I think, and I could be wrong, the board is supposed to snap to the size of your screen and the tables are supposed to do the same but one can never be too sure.

I've solved a lot of the issues with the table bbcode so it pretty much makes this topic ineffective. :)

on an awesome note on the admin end, they increased the number of characters you can have in on post so it looks like i'll be able to make kd into one post when we upgrade and i'm going to test out wlk next. good news and easier to edit and update on my end. :)
