vix - June 18, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
What is everyond doing this summer?
In late July, I might go down the shore/boardwalk and then to a waterpark. maybe Atlantic City for some gambling. :lol (that's how I got my money for rock band and gh iii last year) :heh

well, we've been going to ohio for this family reunion thing in july, but i think i'm going to skip it this year. then my sister and her husband are coming to visit late july and we're throwing an anniversary party for my parents. i have no idea about the rest of the summer, too soon to tell.

Just sleeping and working so far. I might go on a cruise with my dad's side of the family, but we're still planning it out.
Not to mention a friend I know from Oklahoma is coming here in August for a week. I know her from online, but my mom talked to her mom on the phone and they arranged it, so I know she isn't some creepy internet stalker.
vix - June 18, 2008 06:34 PM (GMT)
that sounds cool that you're gonna meet someone and you already know she isn't an internet stalker. :)

i used to steal some wifi from a neighbor on my psp for a while, but he passworded it. oh well.
ps3 grabs some wifi? i had no idea! i will try it, but know i will hit his password thing anyway.
i will try to get comcast again this summer......... maybe it will happen THIS time.
vix - June 19, 2008 02:02 AM (GMT)
how about something other than comcast then? verizon dsl? um, roadrunner? something? :lol
matthew69 - June 19, 2008 10:28 AM (GMT)
Just got back from ten days in Europe -- The Netherlands, Belgium, and France. It was amazing. Now my summer plans are: get my life organized and clean my house :crybaby
Jag - June 19, 2008 01:15 PM (GMT)
Not dying for about a day. After that, I should be fine.
Also, my mom's house is about an hour away from Cedar Point. I'll be going there while I'm on leave in July.

its my only choice for gaming sadly. phone lines not ready for dsl. i could do satelite broadband easily but that is not fast enough for gaming i hear. comcast is the only cable company in my county... i am stuck.
jag what is your opinion of cedar point?

congrats ol boy!
what is a "2:1:??????
discostu - June 19, 2008 04:16 PM (GMT)
haha congratulating me, it could mean a crap mark :Pp
A degree may be awarded with or without honours, with the class of an honours degree based on the average mark of the assessed work a candidate has completed. Below is a list of the possible classifications with common abbreviations. Honours degrees are in bold:
* First-Class Honours (First or 1st)
* Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1)
* Lower Second-Class Honours (2:2)
* Third-Class Honours (Third or 3rd)
* Ordinary degree (Pass)
* Fail (no degree is awarded)
i thought the system was the same everywhere
just looked up the american latin system :X
too much use of the word cum. im immature i know :D

most colleges are the same in terms of how gpa is used but high schools vary. my high school did the A-F scale while i knew of others that had gpa only.
s0njas0n - June 19, 2008 04:53 PM (GMT)
well, i didn't know what it meant either, it seems it varies with the country. i figured it wasn't bad if there was a smiley by it. but it's generally pronouced "coom" anyway, lol.

grade point average.
A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
F=0
so, if you get 2 A's and 3 B's you would take the average and it would give you a 3.4, a B average.... er, yeah. you can sometimes get higher than a 4.0, but that's only special occasions. most colleges run on a gpa system, everyone wants to know what it is.

dsl is what i have and it runs through the generic copper wire phone cables. you should try to go to verizon's site and put in your home phone number to see if it works.
waxc3 - June 20, 2008 03:02 PM (GMT)
thats what verizon said. phone lines need updating! today is my first day off!
discostu - June 20, 2008 03:58 PM (GMT)
for ours its a percentage for each module
40% D pass
50 C
60 B
70+ A
so my average was 61.44
s0njas0n - June 20, 2008 05:03 PM (GMT)
we usually have percentages too. so an A is anywhere from 70-100%? wow.
here it seems to depend on the university and professor how the scale works. when i was in high school it was
94-100% A
87-94% B
79-86% C
70-78% D
69 and lower F
but i've also been on a 10 point scale:
90-100% A
80-89% B
70-79% C
60-69% D
59 and lower F
after you get the letter grade they assign points to them and average your score into a GPA.

I like it, it definitely is the best amusement park in terms of roller coasters. I spent so much time there that I never experience motion sickness to the slightest degree. Even dropping 1500 feet during aerial refueling is nothing comparatively. I'm sure you'll have fun.
discostu - June 20, 2008 05:35 PM (GMT)
yes 70 and above is an A but in the whole year only one person has had anything above the 70s and that was an 88.
DigitalDuckie - June 26, 2008 05:23 PM (GMT)
Lots and lots of anime cons D: My dad is a dealer this year and has recruited me to help him out at his booth.
Just did Anime Next and next week is Anime Expo. Then it'll be Metrocon in Tampa and Otakon in Baltimore... after that I think it's AWA in Atlanta but that's assuming I don't have a real job by then.
When I'm not at cons I'm hoping to be at as many baseball games as possible.
Otherwise I'm lounging around happily graduated but sadly jobless XD (where's my diploma anyways? It should be here by now...)
On to topic of GPAs etc:
In high school we used A- 100-90, B- 89-80, C- 79-75, D- 74-70, F- 69 and under.
But in college we used the ten point so I could get a 60-something and still have a D O_o It was different for me. Luckily such a difference never really occurred for me. I got a 3.44 overall. Just .06 shy of honors D: Oh well.
