Title: Bioshock *Confirmed* for PS3

vix - May 22, 2008 06:08 PM (GMT)
Still not 100% confirmed:

QUOTE
You knew it had to happen eventually. The cover of the latest issue of the UK's PSM3 magazine features a story on the PlayStation 3 version of just about everyone's 2007 Game of the Year BioShock. According to CVG, whose network PSM3 is part of, the issue will feature a lengthy preview of the PS3 version of the title along with a slew of screenshots.

The title blurb on the front of the cover boasts "Why Xbox's best shooter is better on PS3", possibly suggesting additional content for the new version, but as of right now details are scant. Here's hoping for a better ending!

The next issue of PSM3 is due out June 5th. We would expect the official announcement to follow soon after.

Now while CVG lists this as official confirmation, we're going to go ahead and add the rumor tag on this post until we are 100% positive, just to be on the safe side.

yeah, i saw this. it would be weird if they put it on the front of a magazine without it being confirmed, though.

vix - May 22, 2008 06:25 PM (GMT)
i thought that too.

waxc3 - May 22, 2008 08:18 PM (GMT)
PSM was often known to be wrong or break rules before.
i imagine bioshock will end up on the ps3 though. great game.

vix - May 22, 2008 08:22 PM (GMT)
it's not the US PSM mag cause that doesn't exist anymore. It's the UK PSM3 mag.

word.
yea i dont know their rep at all. sorry.

would you get it for the ps3 if it came out?

vix - May 22, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
you know, you're notorious for not fully reading stuff when i post it, :lol

i'm not sure if i would get it. depends on if it comes with extra stuff or whatever and when it comes out cause there are other games I would rather play first at the moment. :)

(i skim! okay :doh )it was that i had never heard of the uk version. it is brand new i think, as in there hasnt even been one yet. ?

it is a great game vixie if you get the chance. yet i felt the same about oblivion and that wasnt really for you.
let me know if you gets it/ plays it.

s0njas0n - May 23, 2008 11:33 AM (GMT)
it was also on the cover of EGM now. i think it's probably coming out. wonder when though, i didn't see the date.

waxc3 - May 23, 2008 01:24 PM (GMT)
sonya did you get bioshock already for your 360 and not play it? it seemed like you had some big games lying around in waiting.

s0njas0n - May 23, 2008 01:56 PM (GMT)
no, that was one i didn't get yet. i do have a few to play, though. ugh. too many games.

well i might rather have a few times a year that there ARE too many games.
last summer was soooo bad. no decent games released at all for months.
im okay stockpiling a few games for future play, but yea if you get like 4 of them sitting on the shelf that hurts a little.
glad i am liking gta4 or i would have to resort to crud like ironman.

i enjoyed bioshock so much! my first play through was awesome! the second time through not so much.
i dont like to replay games in which one can level up, more than once. i always feel like it was wasted, thus i dont enjoy releveling ever.
i prefer oblivion, gta3-4, etc where you can get through the story, then after the credits roll continue to use and expand your character.

no, it's been around for a while in the UK. :D

s0njas0n - May 23, 2008 05:39 PM (GMT)
yeah, it's not just new games, i want to catch up on some older games that i missed out on, too. this season actually had quite a few good games coming out. i really wanted to get bioshock, but just never did. i was waiting for one of those buy 2 get 1 free things or whatever at gamestop. i live for those. :smirk

i thought xplay covered this two days ago and said something like they are a new publication.
actually yea it is new. it is now PSM3 UK not PSM UK that was what it was.

vix - May 23, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
maybe they just changed their name but they've been around for a while because i doubt that a brand new mag would bring news like bioshock to the ps3. i dunno.

The Real Prince - May 23, 2008 09:11 PM (GMT)
I don't like it one bit it starts off bioshock then possibly soon it will be dead rising then it's halo3 then nothing is xbox 360 exclusive it's the forthcoming of the end obviously I'm joking but I just don't like it that just one of the games that should stay exclusive like drakes fortune or halo3 they should stay exclusive.

*EDIT*
actually I should say in bioshocks case microsoft exclusive.

vix - May 24, 2008 01:41 AM (GMT)
it's not a matter of exclusivity anymore but how money talks. each console hopes for it's own exlcusives as it makes the console more marketable but i think down the line, each console is gonna lose more exclusives.

The Real Prince - May 24, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
I'm saying some games should lose their exclusivity but games like bioshock should keep it,take 2 or was it 2k who ever made it should wait until the possible sequal and then release the original and the sequal on other consoles so that people who are intrigued by this sequal and didn't have a 360 or a computer with vista will get the original for their ps3.(I'm tryin to think of more but I'm done)

vix - May 24, 2008 03:08 AM (GMT)
what makes bioshock so special that it should keep it's exclusivity until a sequel? that makes no sense.

s0njas0n - May 24, 2008 03:13 AM (GMT)
the same way that i would be pissed if ffxiii all of a sudden moved to the 360 probably. though i have to say, the xbox can keep halo. :P

The Real Prince - May 24, 2008 03:21 AM (GMT)
Yah halo was good then after Christmas when all the little kids got halo3 that just ruined xbox live and with microsoft being on vacation it was horrible but I imagine you ps3 owners got something I can't think of any ps3 games that little kids would be playing online.(sorry for swaying off topic kinda)

vix - May 24, 2008 03:23 AM (GMT)
that reasoning still makes no sense though.

i could say that it's fine with me that ffxiii loses exclusivity after ffxiv comes out...um. :lol

there were some annoying young-ins in resistance at times. burnout too.

s0njas0n - May 24, 2008 03:28 AM (GMT)
i haven't come across too many kids on psn, it's good like that.. for now. there are still plenty of idiots, but i've met quite a few nice people on there too so it all evens out.

the only game i can think of on the xbox that i actually want on the ps3 is bk. plus, it was originally on sony systems so it wouldn't be like they're traitors or anything. most of the other games it doesn't bother me one way or another. if i wanted bioshock that badly i would have eventually gotten it on the 360, but since it's likely coming out on the ps3 i'll get it for that system instead since i play it much more. i know eternal sonata was supposedly coming out on the ps3 too, but i got it for the 360 (even though i haven't played it yet).

s0njas0n - May 29, 2008 05:36 PM (GMT)
according to egm *i believe* it's supposed to come out in october. that is all.

waxc3 - May 29, 2008 07:41 PM (GMT)
yea it is on the new egm cover. got it yesterday but have yet to read it.
