good composite. the only area that bothers me is the blond area on the queen.

Possibly because they are too transparent?

partially but i did not want to say why. it is best for the student to rationalize what could be wrong with that area to better learn. then decide how to change it if he chooses (in this case).
if the teacher only says "here fix area A with this tool" the student learned nothing in the end and will continue to make the same types of errors.
to me it was not only transparent, but the brush strokes were too evident and chaotic. if he wanted the lines to represent hair they should have followed the natural path of hair and not run side to side...

twas just a brush to just cover the original head. just plain laziness :D

Well, if you do not tell the student the possible errors they have made, they will keep doing it. Doesn't this apply in L2 language acquisition?
I beleive it would be the same with arts.
If a child says:
I want cookie...
You should tell them:
I want a cookie...
So they can say it right.
With art, you have to pinpoint the mistakes and help them find the answer!
Encourage them to keep going while you are at it :P
