Title: It's a good day when ...
Description: any and all leaderboard observations

I get KO'ed big time on two different leaderboards in one day :) That just means people are still playing and improving at BK.

AndrewTabs asked for help on GameFAQs for the Lover's Loom stage, and within a day or two he tied Dr. Thinker's excellent diameter, knocking me out of the top 10. And Super Hiroyan (new Japanese superhero who already beat Delightful Dirigible's many-times-tied record by 2 mm) nabbed the score I almost got once in Lady Luck Casino for diameter. I knew that extra mm was very possible, and I'm not surprised at all that he beat me. He leads stage 1, he leads stage 3 ... I'd say my lead in Sunrise Castle is extremely precarious since he or she's around.

So I lost a first place and a spot in a top 10 on the same day :woot I'll call it a good day.

I might report other things I see on the leaderboards here. Feel free to do the same.

Great rollin' Dr. Thinker!

Thanks! You know, for all the praise slobro hands out, when it comes down to it he's got the best American scores on the most leaderboards. I consider him the best overall American roller. Slobro, you are the man!
3 months after release and I still play often, though not as frequently as before. I'm still breaking personal records, too.

i'm interested to see how the leaderboards are affected by the release of the game in other countries now. should be interesting.

Thanks, Dr. Thinker :)

They can change quickly but at this moment I am the only person who is in the top 14 in absolutely every leaderboard besides cookie and Everyone's Katamari, top 11 in all except Delightful Dirigible diameter. If Dr. Thinker puts up a good Uranus score then I think he can say the same. I consider Dr. Thinker to be dead even with me overall. For one thing Dr. Thinker is the undisputed champion of the first round of DLC levels!

If Seamonky can reach about twentieth in most of the diameter leaderboards I'd consider him to be best in America, mostly on the strength of his killer time attacks. It's too bad khfan1 didn't find much time to play this game ... I am quite certain he'd be right up there with us if he did.

I too want to see the column of flags become more colorful! For now almost all the flags are Japan, US, Canada and (I think) Korea.

Oh, by the way, AndrewTabs upped his diameter in Lover's Loom to 2m15cm6mm, one mm behind Alaska Dave.

I highly doubt that since you rule in most of the areas of rolling and you're in more top 10 place then I am. It would be nice to be the best Katamari player in America. I think you're the the best though. :thumbsup

edit: Thanks, Seamonky :)

But how about online multiplayer? When I'm trying my hardest (which admittedly I'm usually not) you and Maritimus Rain would both run circles around me in the online levels. I'm really not too good at them. There's more than one thing a person can be good at in katamari, and you are clearly better than me at both time attacks and online multiplayer, so it would be hard for me to say unconditionally that I'm better than you at BK. I don't think I am.

edit: Oh, and have you seen the Hall of Fame thread for We Love Katamari? At one time I was very near the top spot in every level (well maybe eighth in Campfire Large), but since then numerous people (Yoda then Lo7 then matthew69 then Crbtino to name a few) passed me in almost everything. I think there is no reason to believe that won't happen in Beautiful Katamari too. For the most part I am already done trying to better my scores, and they're all beatable, and way more likely than not people will eventually come along and beat almost every one of my scores. Just like in WLK. (Having this happen certainly doesn't bother me btw.)

Somehow *everyone* runs circles around me in the online levels. :cool

I probably just need to get a feel for the levels a bit more, but I'll be damned if I've ever done better than third place...even on a two player game, heh.
