Title: The King is Red. Long Ring the King.
Description: Defeated by hardware!

Alas, the King is red... ringed. My XBOX 360 has finally red-ring-of-deathed. I tried to buy an Elite, but the three places I went to were sold out. So, it is the will of God himself, apparently, the I stop rolling this ball.

Is this... therapy?

I like to think I burned the thing out by playing too much BK.

mine red ringed the other day but that was cause i turned it on without the video cable plugged on.

Vix, I know what you mean about that ring -- there are two kinds of rings. Four lights means the display cable isn't plugged in. Three lights mean the hardware just went kaplooey.

I called 8 places... and on the 8th, they had an Elite. So, I told them to reserve it for me, jumped into my car, and raced out there to buy one. Called Microsoft and set up a repair and have transferred my ball over. Another roll on SK later and everything now feels right in the world.

Ahhhh....

This should be a lesson to other rollers, however. Though it seems like it would be cool to be listed in the top 10 on Everyone's Katamari, don't just have marathon sessions of Schloss Kosmos rolls for hours on end. I can only assume you did exactly that, Frosty, considering how far you jumped up the boards in such little time. Take a break. Give your 360 a breather. Space out your sessions over a few days. That's the best way to avoid the RROD.

i have had my running for over 20 hours straight many many times.
been lucky, maybe. mine is well ventilated and has extra fans attached too.

sorry your died. it is somewhat quick turn around to get your replacement. a month average... :(

Gah, sorry to hear your 360 kicked it. I'm glad you can play BK again though.

Mine I'm using now is still working pretty well, though I always have to try to close the disc door a few times before it will stay closed :lol My first 360 was unable to read most game discs.

Yeah, when I got mine repaired it came back quite quickly, less than a month. I've still got that 360 in its repair box in a closet! (lol, a backup 360)
