Title: Blogs?
vix - December 4, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
Zeta comes with the ability to let each member have their own blog. This isn't a vote set in stone, just a curiousity vote.
Would you want a blog in your profile?
You can see what it looks like by going here:

i thought about that one time before, but i keep my blog on gamespot right now... maybe i should tell everyone i'm leaving gamespot and if you want to see me come on katmari on the web :lol... i'm sure i would use it if it was available, though.

Hahaha.
The thing is....I'm iffy about people making blogs about their personal lives, etc. This is still the katamari board and everything has to be E rated.

well as you should know, i tend to keep it E rated... as far as i'm concerned it could go either way and i'd be happy.

That's true... I don't want to have this board to become a scary M rated board.
Anyways, I don't want to get too personal, some things are meant to be private. :eek

My parents won't let me be on anything that forces you to share your secrets and other things like that. Besides, why'd you wanna share private thoughts anyway? :wonder

It wouldn't be required. That's for sure. It's an option to have on Zeta. But if there was a way I could limit it, I would. I have to look into. Perhaps we could assign users "dummy" accounts. And each person could take on the role of a cousin, etc and post a blog in a semi-roleplay form. But again, I'm not sure.

yea vix the option is a great idea. with the stipulation that it must be clean.
lots of us like to share little stories about our lives that dont need their own topics.
to answer texask' many of us are friends and are comfortable telling each other that a cat is sick, our roof is leaking (that was me!), or they wrecked their car. these were all things that have happened to us in the last few years.
it is good to have a place to share without filling the board vix!
will there be the ability to comment on anothers blog?
vix - December 5, 2007 05:49 PM (GMT)
you as a user would be able to set your blogs to be commented on, viewed by guests, and one other option that escapes me at the moment.

that is sweet. great options in the new software! no wonder you were so excited about it all.

this is what the options are for the blog, they're minimal since it is a sub-feature of the board:

As for options, they're unreal. There's a built in shoutbox in the portal so we can use that without having to register for another feature. It's just the tip of the iceberg.

that's pretty awesome. well, let's just say that if you did give this option, could you take it away from certain people if they abused it as stated in previous comment? then if there was inappropriate material they just wouldn't have a blog...

that is true. i need to check the ACP for what the settings are for it. I haven't really played around much with the full version of the board yet.
