Title: Co-op time attacks (videos) minor spoiler
Description: less than 100 people on Xbox Live each:(
slo_bro - December 3, 2007 03:44 AM (GMT)
I'm glad to see so many good scores in Co-op World normal mode lately :D
So far though none of the co-op time attacks have more than 100 total players on Xbox Live. I'm just putting this video of all three up, hoping other people will try these stages. I probably would have saved time on Neighborhood had I just grabbed the rice cooker right at the start rather than the bonsai trees. My best World time attack route just requires you have a Moon, a Mercury and lots of Uranuses and Comets (grabbed simultaneously at the end). So this route won't work as well if you've only played Chateau Notre Desir a few times.

neat, is this just you or are you playing with someone else? looks like you did a pretty good job either way, i still haven't tried a co-op level, then again, no one knows i have a 360 *shh don't tell*

Oh, I sure should have said. Nope ... if you want I can post a video of my sister and myself playing, but you'll laugh if I do :D These are just me.

By the way, I do intentionally wait a while at the beginning of the World stage, so the comets will be in the right place.
edit: Woot, Zeta will let me post videos. I could make a thread with all my videos.

yeah, i can't wait for the video posting part, it will rule.
nice vid as always.

You won't say "as always" anymore if I do post a video of me actually playing two-player :lol I'm seriously considering it.

Co-op Time Attack? I might do that but it will be a bitch to use two controllers at once. :frusty
slo_bro - December 3, 2007 01:18 PM (GMT)
I hope you give it a shot :D
I have some trouble with two controllers; my rolling certainly isn't usually as accurate as with one and somehow using two controllers feels stressful since the slightest slide of a controller messes up my speed and possibly direction, but I think the co-op time attacks are must-tries for the people who like time attacks. Their goals are all quite unique, different from all the other time attacks. Neighborhood takes place in the same place as Sunrise Castle time attack but it ends at 3 meters rather than 2, which for me totally changes the strategy. The other two co-op time attacks take place in locations that don't have one-player time attacks.

I'm bumping this thread because I'm not sure people realize how few good scores are on the leaderboards of the Co-op stages, especially Snowman (World). A while ago I posted this image to show what I feel is a real easy way to do co-op stages.
Controller setupNow you may not have a table like mine, but it's not that hard of a setup. You'd be surprised at how easy it is to jump up the leaderboards on some of these stages. Give it a try, because I'm really not that good at time attack mode. Not enough to be in second place, at least. That's no fluke score like my 2:04 on Dangerous Colony time attack, either.

Cool! The setup makes me think of a torture table for the controllers, however. Were they naughty?

Depends on your perspective. They were nice to me when they helped me get those new scores on Snowman Normal and Time Attack. I'm 2nd on both by a wide, crispy margin, behind Slobro's nigh-untouchable rolls. That time attack score baffles me every time I look at it.

Moon, (slight right turn) a blue planet (Venus I think), (bigger right turn) Uranus and Comet at the same time. Under 15 seconds is not hard at all, assuming you've made quite a few Uranuses.
But I'm glad to see Maritimus Rain's Co-op World time. Until then, 2nd place was so up for grabs it wasn't funny. Anybody feel free to use that route and take a very easy 3rd (now 15 seconds), or a 2nd, or a 1st ...
(one controller on each leg works pretty well for me, but you might need something under each one to keep them from slipping)
Remember, in the normal stages Seamonky and Dr. Thinker normally both have me beaten in time attacks, and my times in the co-op stages are probably no better than my times in the other stages. Like Maritimus said, there is just a lack of good scores in the co-op stages.
SeamonkyNG - January 13, 2008 11:00 PM (GMT)
#1 on two of them. I don't know how the hell I beat 6.506 or something like that. :D

Very very nice times. I don't know how you got that time in outer space either :)
I've still got first place in Peanut Planet by a nice margin, but that may well be temporary.
edit: I know it's not a first place, but very nice job on Delightful Dirigible too.
I came within a second of your time in Lady Luck Casino :devil
