Title: Level List

vix - October 15, 2007 06:39 AM (GMT)
I need a list of the levels, in order that you get them, along with what you need for each level, comet/meteor, etc.

Level?
Goal? (size, X amount of something, time)

Dr. Thinker - October 15, 2007 06:49 PM (GMT)
Luckily I've got the day off tomorrow, so I'll be able to devote mucho time to progressing in the game. I'll be sure to let you know anything/everything I find out.

vix - October 15, 2007 06:56 PM (GMT)
awesome. Maybe, if a lot of people help out we could have a full scoreboard in a day or two.

Sully - October 16, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
I just got home with the game, but I've got a ton to do before I leave for work in a few hours. I'll spend several hours late tonight (~11pm EST) gathering info and making vids.

vix - October 16, 2007 06:02 PM (GMT)
The more helpers I have the better. That way I can get the scoreboard up faster. :)

Lo7 - October 16, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
I'll give you my help as soon as i get the game (not in the near future, i guess; european release date has yet to be announced).

PJesus - October 17, 2007 01:39 AM (GMT)
Check my cousin guide, those are the levels I have so far.

vix - October 17, 2007 01:56 AM (GMT)
I need the levels in order they appear/unlocked. :china

slo_bro - October 17, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
Well, I'll start, but I'm not very far in yet ...

Egg School
Size:
Score:

Delightful Dirigible
Size:
Score:
Time Attack: (All times are in minutes:seconds.xxx - 3 digits past the decimal point)

Oasis Café
Size:
Score:
Time Attack:

Lady Luck Casino
Size:
Score:
Time Attack:

Then the next two stages are Sunrise Castle and Roller Roaster. I don't know what they record yet.

vix - October 17, 2007 05:11 AM (GMT)
what are the "max" sizes for those levels. like, does the first one stay under 1m? etc.

I'm working on a submission form at the moment, so once i have that up, you can submit scores for these levels.

Dr. Thinker - October 17, 2007 10:48 AM (GMT)
Picking up where slo bro left off:

Sunrise Castle
Roller Roaster
Cloud 9 Forest
Seadome
Shani Circuit
Coolhouse
Dynaville
Schloss Kosmos
Chateau Notre Desir

All these levels except Roller Roaster, Shani Circuit, and Chateau Notre Desir record size, score, and time. Roller Roaster records time only (it may record temperature in eternal mode, I haven't been able to verify this), Shani Circuit records number of rings instead of size along with score and time, and Chateau records number of memories only.

The score is a rating the King gives you based on how many items you pick up in the requested category. Each level has a certain type of item he wants you to pick up, even though you're free to roll whatever it takes to get larger. If you get enough requested items to score 100 you will unlock the eternal version for that stage. I can confirm this is true for all stages except Schloss Kosmos (haven't had time to get this one, but I strongly suspect it will be like the others) and the Roller Roaster and Chateau stages (these two are essentially eternals to begin with).

There is a 2-D end credits game also, but I don't know if it records your score. I've only played it once, and to play it again you access it through the Memorial, which doesn't display the scores. There may be a record for it in the Cosmos, I haven't checked.

waxc3 - October 17, 2007 11:31 AM (GMT)
read my play through the game topic. i listed the stages and requirements. will add more later.

vix - October 17, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
Ok, I added the levels to the scoreboard. If you don't mind, please check it over to make sure it's right. I'll be adding them to the submit thread now so you can check that when it's done to make sure it's right as well.

AlaskaDave - October 17, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)
aww, this game was over too quick, but I suppose thats how they go :D

It looks like you've got everything, and the best thing I can say about this game is its like WLK meet MMK... sort of.. you'll see when you play it!

I'll be adding my scores soon, as sad as they are :)

s0njas0n - October 17, 2007 05:12 PM (GMT)
ah yes, but i got 6 pts on the last run i did... man, i'm awesome!

vix - October 17, 2007 05:13 PM (GMT)
The only time I'm missing is the secret achievements and whatever downloadable content there is.

s0njas0n - October 17, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
i know that dr thinker has gotten one of the secret achievements, but i don't know what it is :(

yeah, Ive been unlocking achievments but to be quite honest I was really tired last night, so I'm not quite sure what they are -- I'll dig into my game today when I get home and start posting :D

vix - October 17, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
Dr. Thinker is sending me the names of the secret achievements as he gets them and I'm adding them to the scoreboard so check there to see what they are. :)

sweet, I'll be playing today for a bit, so I'll fill in any gaps that he has :D

slo_bro - October 18, 2007 05:12 PM (GMT)
The submit thread looks good, Vix :) I've been making a list but now I don't have to post it.

Little things I can see:

Shani Circuit should have "Rings" instead of size, rings just being a number (like constellation items).
Dynaville should have km.
Egg School and Delightful Dirigible just have cm and mm for size, but I don't know if you want to change that.
Roller Roaster doesn't call your time "time attack," it's just called "time," but I don't know if you want to change that.
edit: Roller Roaster also has score.

So nobody has the downloadable stages yet? I thought maybe I couldn't download them just because I hadn't completed the game yet, but maybe they're not released yet :( I'll be finding out today.

edit: I can verify that score can be 120, probably requiring both a diameter in rainbow text and a number of stage items in rainbow text. I've only gotten 120 in Egg School and Coolhouse.

s0njas0n - October 18, 2007 05:21 PM (GMT)
if they're out i'll be getting them today. i didn't know if they were out or not because yesterday i was just finishing up the game and trying to get some of the achievements. do they lock some dlc if you haven't finished?

vix - October 18, 2007 05:46 PM (GMT)
Thanks slo_bro, I'll fix all that stuff you mentioned. :)

I really don't know if games ever do that or not. Now I've seen the ending, and there are still no levels to download. It would seem strange though if you could play the 1,500,000km stage before playing Delightful Dirigible :no

It won't bother me at all if they make the downloadable levels available one at a time :)

There's another thing that should be added to the Hall of Fame scoreboard:

Ending Mini-Game
Normal: xxxmxxcmxmm
Hard: xxxmxxcmxmm

It's made available after the 10000km stage and before the Memories stage, if you want to put it in the order it is made available, or you could put it at the end of the list; it's Vix's call. I won't give details about the mini-game, but it sure surprised me a couple times :D

edit: Dirigible has one too many digits for millimeters :P

vix - October 18, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
Added and Fixed.

Keep the info coming! :)

slo_bro - October 19, 2007 03:12 AM (GMT)
I see just one more thing. The memories stage has a score too. Then I think the scoreboard is complete, until downloadable levels become available.

I guess I know why there are so few scores up as of now ... only a few of us have the game. I'll submit my scores now.

vix - October 19, 2007 04:41 AM (GMT)
Feel free to keep giving me updates where needed.

I've been trying to advertise on gamefaqs by posting on the bk board with the site link in my sig and it's working a bit it seems. we are getting new folks. :)

slo_bro - October 19, 2007 05:01 AM (GMT)
I found something else that could go on the scoreboard:

Co-op

Neighborhood
Size:
Score:

House
Size:
Score:

World
Size:
Score:

If nobody's interested in co-op then maybe these shouldn't be added, I don't know. Also I don't know if there are co-op time attacks or not.

vix - October 19, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
Perhaps later on. At the moment, I'd rather just keep it to single player since that's the main focus. If there's enough interest, I can add it in a few weeks. :china

slo_bro - October 24, 2007 03:31 AM (GMT)
They don't have to of course, but I hope Dr. Thinker and khfan1 and others post to the Hall of Fame. A lot of their times/diameters beat mine.

I promise I'll submit to the achievements scoreboard soon :rolleyes I'm a hypocrite to ask people to submit to one and then not submit to the other myself :lol

vix - October 24, 2007 03:40 AM (GMT)
if i ever get it, i'd post my scores and such. :)

slo_bro - October 24, 2007 06:09 AM (GMT)
I'd like to see the scoreboard be a happenin' place, like they have been for all the other games. I'm at least as interested in the Hall of Fame here as I am the online leaderboards. (And I want to see BK make it onto Cyberscore ... there's a thread there in the Game Requests subforum, with 3 out of 5 required 'support' votes right now ... but per their rules don't say you support it unless you're going to post your scores there :bleh )

vix - October 24, 2007 07:06 AM (GMT)
if i was active at cyberscore AND had the game, i'd support it. i'm not as active there much anymore. if this game came out on the ps2, the scoreboards would be packed already. :yes

Dr. Thinker - October 24, 2007 11:26 AM (GMT)
Looking at the leaderboards for "Everybody's Katamari" it's awful to see only 15,000 entries. I guess people don't appreciate greatness.
I'll be submitting my BK scores for you soon, Vix. I've been concentrating more on finishing my collection (only 2 items left!) than making good runs.

vix - October 24, 2007 03:29 PM (GMT)
wow, only 15,000 people played the game? (that have online, right? could be more offline, i hope)

yea like i dont count towards that because my machine is off line.

slo_bro - October 24, 2007 04:57 PM (GMT)
Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360 is the less popular of two systems for that game ... 880,000 people on the online leaderboards :eek

Beautiful Katamari is on only one system so far ... 15,000 people on the online leaderboards :(

It is a sad state of affairs, so far at least.

vix - October 24, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
yeah and it really make me wonder why it isn't cross console.

FrostyPrusty - December 8, 2007 11:30 PM (GMT)
I know this is an ancient thread, but I was just thinking about this the other day. At the time of this writing, there are around 25,000 people who have played the game. That bothers me, because this game is one of the best games I have ever played -- and is better than KD1, IMHO. Maybe this will be one of those hits that increases in popularity over time? I've read reviews about his game about the fact that it is not a different experience, but I disagree -- the dash is way improved and, most importantly, the online gaming is amazing.

This game feels like a TOTALLY different experience from the other games. The wacky item placements, the tons of items on screen at once, the music has a different feel, and the environments are amazing! I am in love with the leaderboards too. I love this game, and I wish more people would play it. I'm sure most 360 players would skip right over this.
