Mr.Katamari - September 9, 2007 05:55 PM (GMT)
I was looking through that katamari website and checking out the new cousins but I can't read any of it. anyway after all the new cousins theres a circle with a ? in it which means there keeping on secret. Thier being careful not to shoe it in screenshots to but I don't want to spoil the surpries for myself.

vix - September 9, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
yeah, i noticed that too. i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Queen of the Cosmos - September 10, 2007 03:33 PM (GMT)
They probably keep it a secret until the game comes out...
The one that made me laugh was the snowman XD

s0njas0n - September 10, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
well, it's a month away, they've been doing pretty good with the secrets so far.

vix - September 10, 2007 04:44 PM (GMT)
i don't fully remember what happened for wlk and mmk but i don't think they revealed all the new cousins so early. at least not all but one before the release date.

I'm fairly certain that one is named "Princess". On the loading screens, the King sometimes names random cousins.

katamari > kalamari - October 17, 2007 12:04 AM (GMT)
Yeah it's Princess. Sherman is the snowman cousin. (Je Mans?)

Queen of the Cosmos - October 19, 2007 11:36 AM (GMT)
IT'S A PRINCESS!
I KNEW IT!!!
I KNEW THE PRINCE HAD A LITTLE SISTER!!!!

And she is soooooooooooo adorable!!!!
Kitty will be happy to hear this, our predictions were right :)

vix - October 19, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
if it is his sister. for all we know she could be a princess cousin and not a princess sister.

s0njas0n - October 19, 2007 06:29 PM (GMT)
i was wondering if it was going to be his sister or his cousin. also, there wasn't really much of a storyline with cutscenes like the other 2 console versions. it would be bad for some people (ok well everyone because it's not free) if there was some major storyline in the dlc, not that you can say that katamari really ever had much of a story line :smirk . i can't imagine they would do that, but you never know.

vix - October 19, 2007 06:58 PM (GMT)
that's true. that would suck though if they made a story arc in the DC.

i guess we just have to wait and see if it's a sister or a cousin.

:pokkle was described as a prince from another land so we'll see.

waxc3 - October 19, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
i said like 2 or 3 months ago there was going to be a princess, and you all yelled at me!

edit:
i do not think there will be downloadable story arc.

the new levels are out? i took a break from bk today :(

vix - October 20, 2007 03:53 AM (GMT)
if they released the DC so soon, why the hell didn't they just put it on the disc?

I'm gonna quote someone from gamespot's here:

QUOTE (DryvBy2)
I'd like to point out that the 360 is a major rip, yet again. This isn't really Microsoft's major problem, but it's a problem with the marketplace. Anyone get that Beautiful Katamari game on 360? It takes 3-4 hours to beat. So, what do you have left to do on this 'next-gen' game? Well, Major 'Micros0ft Is 1337!!!1' Nelson announced that you lucky owners will be getting downloadable levels (if not already). What's best is it's 800 points. Want to know a secret? They're around 300kb each, which in terms means this is just like EA Games' scams where you purchase a game and have to pay extra cha-ching to get that content released, even though it's on the disc that you eefin' paid for! So, basically you spend $50-$60 on this Katamari game (which isn't beautiful) and you get a disc with a demo. To get the full version, whip out that credit card and get microcharged for 'bonus content'. It's only a bonus if it's stuff that wasn't on the disc you paid for.

Screw the Marketplace. Folks, this is a prime example why I LOVE software pirates. They hurt a few good, but they screw the people screwing the honest customer. Vote "YES" for piracy!

*if* this game comes out on other consoles, i hope they do like lost planet and put all of the dc on disc and release more stuff later. i'll gladly pay 60 for a FULL game and not a half assed one.

The King of Kings - October 21, 2007 01:08 AM (GMT)
I fully and completely agree with that guy (DryvBy2) and you!
I'm really pissed about the downloable content, because with such a short game like this one, it becomes almost esencial! And you have to pay another 30 dollars or more to have it complete!

I hope they realize of such big mistakes and release a full version to wii and ps3.

to quote Kotaku:

QUOTE
Beautiful Katamari has barely been out a week and downloadable content is already available for Asia and Japan. Logic would dictate that it will probably show up on US XBL sometime in the coming weeks, but is this a little to early? The four new levels, "Milky Way Constellations", "The Weaver Girl", "Shopping Spree" and "High-calorie Katamari", are available at 200 MS points EACH. So, we're talking over eight dollars all together for the new levels, adding to the $40 plus tax we just paid for the game itself. It seems like a little time between the release of the game and producing the DLC might take the sting off a little but as it stands, it seems a little money grabbing in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Katamari fan and I'm usually pretty ambivalent about DLC, but this just seems like a bad move that is likely to turn a lot of people off and has certainly made me rethink my position on DLC in general.

I saw when waxc3 posted about the DLC stages, in the availability I saw it was available in Canada. Maybe during Christmas break I should go up to Canada to buy a Canadian 360 so I can get the Down loadable Stages.

(I know, another ancient thread, but I so want to post tonight!)

I'd agree, if this game were $60 off the shelf. For $40, it gives me a thoroughly satisfying rolling experience. Most people won't bother to complete the game to the point where they're Jonesin' for DC. Actually, in a way, the fact that they did this was an unnatural act of kindness for a corporation, IMHO.

ChrisLov1271 - December 9, 2007 06:23 PM (GMT)
I don't get how people have finished in 3-4 hours! I didn't even think that was humanly possible sheeesh. Craziness! I will be playing this game until the NEXT Generation of systems come out and still be trying to get the achievements! LOL!
