Are you older or younger than the simpsons?

:)

Guess I'm older :D

vix - September 4, 2007 02:02 AM (GMT)
i'm older too. :)

Yes to series, but I was still in the womb when the Tracey Ullman shorts first premiered.

In short: I'm older.

On a brighter note, playing sounds from the Katamari games crack my mother up as much as panicking over garbage water.

Also, my father threatens to get the mace (medieval) if I don't calm down. "I'll mace you good!" To this day, I am free of macing scars.

I'd say you're younger if you weren't around to see the shorts. that was my original intention and i probably got the wrong date. oh well. :) Man, I loved those things.

the simpsons started on December 17, 1989? really!?
i was 19 when the show came out? that sounds wrong to me for some reason. but then again i guess so, that is still a long time ago for a prime time cartoon!

vix - September 4, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
they've had 18 seasons already. i believe that's not counting the tracy ullman stuff. i think they're starting they're 19th full season this year.

that is so amazing! and still fresh and funny each new episode. LOVE that.

I personally think some of the newer stuff is crap. It's too much about how stupid Homer is and not enough about the kids like it used to be. But it still does have it's moments.

Yeah, sometimes I find myself turning off the TV with some of the newer episodes.

same here. they're just not as funny as they used to be. i think around season 11 or so is when i thought they started to lose some quality. though nearly all of the episodes that aired while i was in college, it's like i've never seen most of them so when i get the dvd's, i'll be able to catch up.

And you aren't a mod and this forum on the board isn't a katamari forum.

Agreed. I much prefer the older stuff. I think I remember more lines and quotes and scenes from them than I do from any of the recent stuff.

i appreciate the way the show has grown. i have never met an episode i didnt enjoy the first time.
some older ones may have more replayability... not sure though.

vix - September 5, 2007 04:39 PM (GMT)
i'm the exact opposite with the new episodes. of the recent stuff i've watched, i barely even crack a smile let alone laugh. i just don't like the way they do it now but i did love their 24 parody. that was a great episode last season.

though i prefer the dvd's more since they don't have the fox bastardized versions on them and they have the real versions of each episode.

i'm older, but haven't seen that many episodes, but as for quality, i'd think after 18 years the humor could get dull, i mean what new stuff can you do with the same characters? especially since the characters don't age, well at least not significantly or permanently.
