Description: Help me to find items, thanks :)
Rich666 - June 2, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
Items needed:
The globe from the upstairs of the house in the sweets stage (The ant stage).
Quite a few large items from the Truffle Desert stage (The camel stage).
Any ideas of how the hell you are supposed to get them? there is no way I have got anywhere near big enough on truffle desert to collect most things, and I always have trouble going past 59.8cms or so on the sweet stage.
Thanks.
p.s. my first post here and wow I love all the Katamari smilies :D Aww my fave little cutey :marny Marny and my fave one to use in game is :mu Mu.

Aw damn, I posted first without registering, well here I am, so move this thread if it is in the wrong place please, but message me if it is, cause I might not be able to find it again if you move it!
Thanks :)

A lot of the items in the camel stage can be found elsewhere.
Same with the globe in the ant stage. There are times when the items can't actually be gotten from where they're supposed to be. Try lookin around in some other levels.
Are you under the age of 13?
Rich666 - June 3, 2007 01:04 PM (GMT)
Heh no, I'm 21 in a few months.
Where are these items? like the globe for example in the sweets stage, most of the items in the desert stage are people, plus I need the two cousins that are there too.
vix - June 3, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
Oh, because when you registered, you marked the one that says you are under 13(coppa request). That's why your account hasn't been validated yet. I went a validated your account so you should be able to post anywhere in the forum now.
As for the cousins, you do have to get them from that level but things like the race car, you can easily get elsewhere. It's been a while since I played but if you give me a list of items, I might be able to help out with that.
If you want this topic moved to the MMK help forum, let me know. :)
Guest - June 3, 2007 10:02 PM (GMT)
I definatly selected over 13 :S Wierd.....
Ok so items (went off to find PSP)
Ok here are the names of the items and what catagory they are in:
Globe (science section)
Park Entrance (entrances and exits)
Tall School Boy (teenagers)
Tall School Girl (teenagers)
Sumo Referee (professionals)
Station Worker (professionals)
Johnson (Cousin)
L'Amour (Cousin)
Ok so I have to pick up the two cousins in the desert, how the hell do I get to over 3m or so? My highest ever (never got close to it again since though) was 2m42cm2mm :(
Rich666 - June 3, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
Damn, forgot to sign in again.... and yeah you can move this topic if you want, as long as I can still find it!
vix - June 4, 2007 02:06 AM (GMT)
My best is over 4m on that level so it's possible.
Basically, just keep rolling around. never stop, try to constantly pick stuff up. It helps to know when you can pick up certain items and when you can't in terms of size.
Edit: as for finding this topic, the old link will still be here. just go to the MMK help forum. :)
Rich666 - June 4, 2007 02:13 AM (GMT)
Ok, I like that desert level but it is too difficult cause at the start I roll around for ages not picking anything up, as the stuff you CAN pick up at such a small size are nearly all under the sand, argh!
So aside from that, any help on those items? the globe can be found in the sweets stage and the rest can be found in the desert I know but can they be found anywhere else?
vix - June 4, 2007 02:16 AM (GMT)
When you start the level, stay near the inner part. Keep rolling around between the shovels, etc. You should be able to pick up a ton of small stuff there.
I'll load up the game in a bit to check it out and see if I can find those items. :)
vix - June 4, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)
Park Entrance (entrances and exits)
Tall School Boy (teenagers)
Tall School Girl (teenagers)
Sumo Referee (professionals) not sure
Station Worker (professionals) not sure
Johnson (Cousin)
L'Amour (Cousin)
I was able to get all of those from the camel stage(not sure about the two i mentioned, i'd have to play again to check).
All I did was constantly go around in a circle around the level. constantly picking stuff up. i got over 4m no problem that way and just about got everything off the screen.
about the globe, well i can't play anymore for the night. my cat bit me on my finger after he had a seizure today and, well, he bit me so hard, with both a top and bottom tooth(practically biting through my finger) that my finger is so swollen and in so much pain that i can't hold the psp to play.
give me a day or so and i can attempt to help you out with the globe if no one else does. :)
Rich666 - June 4, 2007 03:59 AM (GMT)
Ok so those are avialable, I just find them really hard to get in the desert level, not sure it is actually possible to grab that sweets stage globe as you pointed out though so it must be elsewhere!
Also, get better soon :) Bloody cats.... too much trouble them little furry gits!
vix - June 4, 2007 04:14 AM (GMT)
lol, yeah.
when I have more feeling in my hand, since i can barely feel my finger and the pain is spreading, i will load up the game and check on the globe.
Rich666 - June 4, 2007 02:34 PM (GMT)
Since your tip of going round the middle in the desert area, I have been doing alot better, but couldn't see where you ment when you said 'between the shovels', unless I am doing my usual and stsaring right at them but not seeing them.
Sort of a 'can't see the wood for the trees' kind of scenario :)
Thanks for your help, and hope you get better soon, finger wise and globe finding is afoot!
vix - June 4, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
I thought there were shovels in the level but after i played it last night, i realized it was just random stuff.
if you start out in the center and do laps there first, you can collect a lot of small stuff there.

Yeah that is what I have been doing, will refine my rolling later on :) those two things I think you were talking about are a filing cabinet and something else.
Rich666 - June 5, 2007 01:46 PM (GMT)
Update: got all items except that damn globe! :D
I had a mega roll round that desert and come out with an impressive amount, somewhere over 50,000 anyway! Therefor I picked up all those pesky items and I found a sneaky way of getting that guy from the back of the camal when you arn't big enough:
Wait till the camal is in one of the big sand dunes/pits and roll at it fast when you are fairly big and you should grab the cousin but not the camal :)

omg vixie, how's your tetanus shots? not kidding here :eek
vix - June 5, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)
it hurts. my arm i sore where i was injected and my finger isn't fairing any better. thanks for asking though. what sucks even more though, is i had to put the cat down last night. he kept having seizures and he couldn't walk and he was dehydrated and i couldn't bear to see him like that so now i'm all brokenhearted and depressed. but i'm at peace knowing he's no longer in pain.

Rich, how are you doing with the camel stage?

Edit: heh actually I might make that into my forum sig.
vix - June 6, 2007 01:59 AM (GMT)
I played the ant stage once today, that was all i could bear on my finger and i'm not sure if you can get the globe in that level or not and I honestly can't remember where else i've seen. i'll have to check a few other levels.
EDIT:
according to the database and slo_bro's faq:
Globe
Level: Sweets Stage - 61cm0mm
How To Find: get really big and go upstairs
you do have to get it in the ant stage. O_O
Rich666 - June 6, 2007 03:34 AM (GMT)
Yeah I figured as much, that is the 'database' on GameFaQ's right? they are the one I have been using, very helpful they were actually.
But yeah the biggest I can manage on the sweets stage is 59.8cms and I have only ever got THAT once as it is....*sigh*
I can but keep on trying I guess, BUT it is possible to get that big as this shows:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwS_Bj4Np0g Just that you'd have to change the order of 'grabs' around to use the last bit of time upstairs I guess.

Aww, I lost a cat just like that, after seizures she recovered sort of, but kept to herself and moved only for basic needs, and didn't eat much. Then, one day she suddenly recovered, ate normally, greeted everybody with lots of snuggles and purrs and played with us - we were so happy. Next morning she was dead. :eek

Young woman, stop playing with that sore finger immediately! Really. Immersive games are great painkillers, throw in some regular painkillers and you can forget the pain completely, but: pain is good for you, it tells you when you should stop doing something that damages you. Painkillers should be used only when it hurts when you rest. </preach>
vix - June 6, 2007 06:42 PM (GMT)
He was diabetic and i guess his sugar was bothering him. after the seizure he was ok, eating drinking, respond to his name but then a day later he started to get lethargic again and wouldn't respond and had lost about 2 pounds so i could bear to see him seize every day.

Rich, there's a database of info on our board. it's the forum under the new and guest forum. It has tons of info organized into threads and stuff is easy to find there.
Good luck with the globe. Yeah, I know it can be done, it's just really hard to do.

Ah right yeah so there is, thanks :) I've been using the ones on Gamefaqs till now anyway and they seemed pretty nifty.
I recon the globe is THE hardest item to collect then, after knowing that for sure.
vix - June 7, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
Since the search feature is permanently disabled in this version of invisionfree, i made the database for guests to ease their search. But when we upgrade to zeta, we'll have a fully working search feature. WOO!
I don't remember having a ahrd time with the globe but there was this one lantern i couldn't get.
discostu - June 7, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)

you will be very lucky to find it in the game shops nowadays, your best bet is ebay or amazon etc
KD wasnt released in the UK so you will need a foriegn ps2 or modded
vix - June 7, 2007 04:49 PM (GMT)

Rich666 - June 7, 2007 11:46 PM (GMT)

Do you think it's so they could but dogs and cats in the food collecting stage? just a thought ;)

If it was free and cooked properly, i'd roll it up :) Or eat it, either way.
Heh you never know, how do you think the controls would work on a PC anyway?
vix - June 8, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
a mouse might work but it would be really weird. so would the keyboard.

How about a mix of both? seems to work for most PC games
