Well, as a general rule, to make a Katamari big enough... you have to roll stuff up...

Don't feel too bad if you can't get it right away.

And don't worry. The truth is that what you're looking for more than anything in these stages is usually just to roll up as much as possible. You won't get penalised for rolling up the wrong object. Each object has a certain point value for various categories.

For instance, a Trophy might be worth 100 points for Grand, 20 points for Heavy, and 30 points for Cool. Meanwhile, a piece of Lipstick might only be worth 10 points for Grand, but 150 for Glamour. So just roll up all that you can find.

The general rule though is that if you roll up as much as you can find, you'll have rolled up enough to get your score up to significant amounts for whatever category you're after, so you don't have to worry about it at all.

unfortuanately, i've tried this level like 15 times now, and i can't seem to manage to get it big enough. i never get bigger than like 90. am i missing something? if i spend time in the office building i loose time outside, and then if i spend time outside trying to roll up the objects and cousins, i run out of time being as there is only so much crap to roll up outside. what am i doing wrong!? ****SCREAMS****

Let me give the level a try here... I need to boost my high-score on it anyway!

Okay... ah, I see why this would give you trouble - this 'level' of growth is the most annoying to me too...

From where you start, build yourself up to about 2m. You can do this easily using the doors, plants, and signs on the small path outside of the Office Building. Once you're there, head inside. If you're at about 2m or a bit higher, you should be able to roll into the center and IMMEDIATELY start rolling up the japanese-style walls in the center, and basically clear the area out except for cement walls. You should be at least 3m50cm by the time you leave the office building. Now roll around looking for all kinds of fodder, and you'll hit the 4m mark.

Now then, roll around the area a bit and get up to about 5m BEFORE crossing the 4m signs, and roll up those signs as well, as they give pretty big size boosts. Once you reach about 5m50cm or so, it's time to head past those signs. Try to head into the centre of the new area - a construction site - because the girders at the top of the hill there will be available at about 7m (You'll get to that size with cars and rocks and stuff on your way there) will give you a good enough boost. Then roll back down into the site. You should get to about 8m. At this point, roll out into the river and start following it, and grab the rocks and other stuff that's floating in the river. You'll eventually come to a bank where there's a house and other stuff, and with all the river's contents and the little bank, you should hit 10m no problem.

But I do agree, it seems like they give you VERY little time for this area. Using this strategy I hit 10m with a minute to spare. Once you hit 10m you can start rolling up the trees, so they're the best fodder to get a high score. With the little amount of time that you have, you'd better bust a move and get around. Remember - don't linger if there isn't anything useful around where you are! Looking at my original record, apparently I didn't make it with much time to spare...
