since the search isn't working and I have looked as best I can without luck, I will ask outright : )

Has anyone posted about the magic carpet rides in the sumo level? My little nephew has been riding around on the magic carpet all day (he just called me to tell me) He says that if you roll your sumo on when he's small enough at either of the two places that the carpet touches down (the train station and the school yard) that you can have your sumo ride around on the carpet. Now of course, you can't ride very long and still win the level, but it's fun : )

of course I have been looking around and can't find the stinkin carpet! Does anyone have any tips on how to find it? I told my nephew that I would check on the Katamari board to see if anyone else had been riding on the magic carpets : )

well, after loitering around the train station for some time with no luck ... i finally rolled over the wall into the school yard. He said there is a man flying on the first one, and then a trail of 6 mats behind him.... well, I saw the tail end of the mats. They look like tatami mats... simple and beige. They go pretty slow... but trying to roll on one is another matter!

i figured it out... but it is soooooo hard as to be impossible, unless you are an 11 year old boy.

the other stop is ACROSS the train tracks and up the hill. There is a blue fence and a guy barbecuing. If you hang out on the side of the hill, eventually the magic carpet guy and his six "cars" will come by. You can roll on (theoretically) from there. (my nephew says it is near the treasure chest)

I have tried MANY times and can't do it. My nephew's simple advice is that you just have to balance carefully! (HAH!) I guess the carpets go around the circuit twice, so you have four opportunities to get on, 2 at the school yard and 2 at the hill.
(since you are too small to get into the school yard the normal way, you can sneak in between the green chain link fence and the wooden fence, or roll over the top)

if any of you guys has already done this and ridden around successfully (my sister says he rides around standing up on the carpet!!) can you let me know? I told him that I would let him know if other Katamari people have done it. (he doesn't have access to the internet right now)

i know there's another level where you can fly around on a terodactyl i think.

Never herd of this, but I know you can also ride on the old ladies mat with an umbrela in the Snowman level if you're small enough and get in the right posistion. And the dino bird "ride" is in Saturn L.

after trying many times I was able to ride on one of the mats for about 6 seconds....

meanwhile my sister is telling me that Rhys (the famous nephew) can hop on at will and ride around doing handstands or standing on one foot leaning off the edge....
