Title: Quote Game
Description: Can you guess?
kickstart - October 26, 2006 06:39 PM (GMT)
Don't know if this game will interest anyone, I just kinda made it up right now. Anyway, someone posts a quote and then everyone else tries to guess where it's from. Okay, here goes.
"They're coming to get you, Barbara!"
What movie is this from?
Kris - October 27, 2006 01:06 AM (GMT)
Oh man, that sounds so familiar but I can't place it. I want to say Close Encounters of the Third Kind but I doubt that's it.
kickstart - October 27, 2006 01:21 AM (GMT)
Oooh, close, but not it. Keep trying :D
vix - October 27, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
kickstart - October 27, 2006 07:34 PM (GMT)
Nope. Here's a hint: think horror flick.
"They're coming to get you, Barbara!"
What movie is this from?
vix - October 27, 2006 07:48 PM (GMT)
Psycho? :lol
*not into horror much*
kickstart - October 27, 2006 08:26 PM (GMT)
Nah, but you're getting warmer :D
I'm not into horror much either, but this is a classic.
Think zombies...
vix - October 27, 2006 08:48 PM (GMT)
Night of the Living Dead? :lol
hellyes - October 27, 2006 10:30 PM (GMT)
Ahahaha, kickstart, that's one of my favorite movie quotes! *high fives*

|
:heh Yeah, that was one scary pic. Even today if someone imitates that guy it gives me the willies.
Okay, here's an easy one:
"I got a rock."
What cartoon character said that?
vix - October 29, 2006 01:58 AM (GMT)
So what was the movie?
And this one, I know....it's Charlie Brown. *loves Peanuts*
hellyes - October 29, 2006 07:50 PM (GMT)
aw I just watched It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on TV the other night for the first time in years!
kickstart - October 30, 2006 07:01 PM (GMT)

| So what was the movie? |
Sorry, Vix. You figured it out. It was Night of the Living Dead. If this was a gameshow you'd win a trip for 2 to Circus Circus in LV and a year's supply of Twix or something.
You also go the Charlie Brown quote, too. So, uh, you woulda won a 2 years supply of Twix. :heh
I love the "I got a rock," quote. I always say it when someone asks what I got for my birthday or Christmas. Some people get it, some don't.
Okay, here's a new quote. No hints to start this time.
"Are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
hellyes - November 1, 2006 01:22 AM (GMT)
Well then, Vix you are taking me on your imaginary trip to Circus Circus with you. :yes
And I have no idea where that next quote is from? :shrug
fleacollar - November 1, 2006 02:39 AM (GMT)
Ooohh! I actually know one!
It's the Brain from Pinky and the Brain. I loved that show.
The Brain: "Are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
Pinky: "I think so, Brain, but if the plural of mouse is mice, wouldn't the plural of spouse be spice?"
vix - November 1, 2006 03:26 AM (GMT)
Oooo, Pinky and the Brain!! Loved them and the Animaniacs.

The Brain: "Are you pondering what I'm pondering?" Pinky: "I think so, Brain, but if the plural of mouse is mice, wouldn't the plural of spouse be spice?" |
:heh :heh That's a good one, fleacollar.
"Snakes...why did it have to be snakes?"
vix - November 1, 2006 08:48 PM (GMT)
Kris - November 2, 2006 05:15 AM (GMT)
"I'm a mog. Half-man, half-dog. I'm my own best friend. "
Any takers?
hellyes - November 3, 2006 09:51 PM (GMT)
OK, "Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?" was definitely from an Indiana Jones movie, was it Raiders of the Lost Ark? *pretty sure, but not 100% sure*
Indy would have had a rough time on the Snakes on a Plane flight lol.
How about...
"Searching for a boy in high school is as useless as searching for meaning in a Pauley Shore movie."
:kuro
kickstart - November 4, 2006 01:03 AM (GMT)
:applause Hellyes, it's from Raiders. And frankly, since I'm not wild about snakes either, I couldn't handle "Snakes on a Plane" *shudder*
Kris, dunno. Is it a from a movie or TV show? A game?
I need help on the boyfriend quote, too. It sounds so familiar... It's a movie, right? Who was in it?
Here's a different spin:
"They're magically delicious!"
This is the advertising slogan for what product?
Kris - November 4, 2006 03:30 AM (GMT)
Lucky Charms...:) I think
Mine was from Spaceballs.
hellyes - November 4, 2006 03:41 AM (GMT)
I think I might be one of the only 25 year olds in the world that hasn't seen Space Balls!!!
(actually just saw the other 5 Star Wars movies just this year, too, I'd only seen A New Hope before that :lol )
vix - November 4, 2006 03:54 AM (GMT)
Spaceballs is classic stuff. I've never seen any stars wars before...well, I saw the first one in a film class by force, had it not been for that, I never would have seen it on my own. never saw what the big deal was. :lol
hellyes - November 4, 2006 04:28 AM (GMT)
My ex boyfriend was a huge star wars junkie, so he peer pressured me to watch them with him. I mean, ok, Darth Vader is a great character. Fine. But *gasp* I think George Lucus writes sucky unrealistic dialouge. *gets beat up by all the internet boys*
And I really think the Emperor is George W Bush's hero haha.
I still haven't seen an episode of or any of the Star Trek movies and I am keeping it that way forever!
vix - November 4, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
hahah, me either, haven't seen star trek yet either.
kickstart - November 6, 2006 08:08 PM (GMT)
I loved the original Star Wars Trilogy and it stops there for me. The 4th movie was so slow. I watched the 5th on fast forward - it was still slow. No plans to watch the last one.
Yes, Kris, "Magically delicious!" is the slogan for Lucky Charms.
Hellyes, I still can't figure your boyfriend quote...
Okay, another advertising quote:
"They're grrrrreat!!!"
What cereal is this for and who was the character that said it?
vix - November 6, 2006 08:15 PM (GMT)
Frosted Flakes, Tony The Tiger.
:)
Hmm, i need to post a quote...
Here's some quotes from a comedian that I used to watch late at nigth(though not jay, dave, conan, or craig).
| QUOTE |
Where there's smoke, there's my mother's cooking.
When you wish upon a star, make sure it's not one in rehab.
When your ship comes in, make sure you're not at the airport.
If the answer is blowing in the wind, then the question must be where is my toupee.
I wash my colored clothes and my white clothes together, it lets them put their cultural differences aside.

OK, I'll give you all a hint on the boyfriend quote.
Brittany Murphy and Alicia Silverstone were both in the movie.
I know at least one of the girls here *has* to have seen this movie at some point!

:D
hellyes - November 6, 2006 09:49 PM (GMT)
Yup Vix, you got it! :thumbsup
How about this one, from roughly the same time period...
"I got into this tournament for one reason: money. And now I have a new reason: kicking your ass!"
Kris - November 7, 2006 01:59 AM (GMT)
That sounds so familiar...I'll have to think about that one for a while. :lol
waxc3 - November 7, 2006 02:36 PM (GMT)
at first i thought Dodgeball.... but thats too new. is it Caddyshack?
hellyes - November 7, 2006 04:45 PM (GMT)
No Wax, but you are so close. You have the sport right, and it does include an ex SNL cast member as well! Think, 1996-ish.
waxc3 - November 7, 2006 05:07 PM (GMT)
must be adam sandler then.

heres a quote:
"still got the ol tagger on it"
hellyes - November 7, 2006 10:46 PM (GMT)
