Title: Valentiner

So, what does it subtract?

I kinda think it does the cash, but I could be wrong. I know that when I finished yesterday, I had only about 12 or so bucks and my total score and then my submitted score reflected that.

Hmm...

I played that game for the first time yesterday (I really like it, too) and I laughed when I saw the "taxes" joke. I have been trying to figure it out, too, and I hadn't thought of that so I think I might try testing it.

The last level I played I had 94 or so and i bought a bomb for I think 83. I'm pretty sure the difference was the amount of cash. But the thing is, you need to be able to submit the score to prove that so if you don't break your score you gotta keep at it(and take notes as to how much money you have, etc).

I don't think it's the cash. I carefully noted my scores and the amounts subtracted, and there wasn't any correspondence. It's just a glitch, maybe.

vix - September 19, 2006 06:37 PM (GMT)
Possibly, but would it vary so much between games. One game I lost over 400 points, another time about 12.

Kris - September 19, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
I gave it a go.

I had 3328 as my final score with 166$ left and then when I submitted it, I had 3162 which is a 166 point difference.

Maybe it does vary at times but I'm just saying what I saw.

matthew69 - September 19, 2006 07:00 PM (GMT)
Wow, then evidently it does that sometimes. I had 5,075 earlier, and I ended up with 4111 (= a difference of 964. But I had much less cash than that. Maybe it also figures in leftover bombs, or how short you were of the goal . . . . ?

Kris - September 19, 2006 07:04 PM (GMT)
That's possible. Maybe extra bombs are a deduction since you "should" be using them.

As for the goal differenct, it's hard to tell since I don't think there's a way to put a set number down as to what you might have left.

I had reported this scoring glitch...

There was an error with the gscore.

I've tested it and it now submits the score you got.

hellyes - September 21, 2006 12:20 AM (GMT)
Awesome! Thanks!

hellyes - September 21, 2006 05:59 AM (GMT)
At the risk of sounding really dumb...

How exactly does it figure points? Is it just how many hearts you collect? Do dollars count as any points?

I was kinda wondering... :-\

vix - September 21, 2006 06:47 AM (GMT)
Now that it's fixed, I don't think money has anything to do with it.

I think it only adds up all the hearts you gather. I think.

Kris - September 21, 2006 05:23 PM (GMT)
That's cool you got it fixed. Nice job.

hellyes - September 21, 2006 05:28 PM (GMT)
So...

Do you guys (excluding Matthew69 because he is apparently wayyy awesomer than me in Valentiner lol :notworthy ) basically die in the same place (same level) like every single time?

I get to a certain point, and then I just can't cut it anymore :shrug

It's so addicting though... :heh

vix - September 21, 2006 05:59 PM (GMT)
Yeah, pretty much. I always seem to die on the same level(though on occasion, it give me a different layout)...or around 3000 or so points.

hellyes - September 21, 2006 07:06 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it's like, maybe the 6th level (?) where it starts getting really hard to me... especially this one layout that I hate with all the money bags and one big gold heart in the bottom left corner surrounded by rock hearts?

I get past that one now more than I used to, but I still crap out at around 3000 points each time.

I die a lot on the first board that has the orange bats that are worth 150 hearts. I don't *think* I've made it past that.

matthew69 - September 25, 2006 04:33 AM (GMT)
I almost always die on that level that hellyes just described. But if I'm lucky I'll get lots of L-O-V-E hearts (= 350 points) and get way ahead on the first few levels. That's the key to get through the hard levels later. I buy lots of bombs. I basically buy anything when it's under $100. Especially the thing that triples the score for the bats.
