Title: Unpopular Games?

vix - September 14, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
I'm looking into adding more games to see if they are decent, etc...but at the same time I don't want to keep games no one likes....

So as a general opinion, what classifies a game as unpopular?

Less Than 25 Plays = 0-25 times played
No More Than 50 Plays = 26-50 times played
No More Than 75 Plays = 51-75 times played
No More Than 100 Plays = 76-100 times played

If you choose other, please state why!

I think the amount of time the game has been available to play should be considered as well. :kuro

Of course. I would probably base it on a month or two.

Right on.

I haven't even tried them all yet :heh

Yeah, definitely. I know some people don't come online much so I would give it time. I could always hold a poll instead of just deleting them too. :)

I went with no more than 100 plays. I figure that if a game doesn't break 100 plays, no one really cares enough about it. But at the same time, there are some games that let you retry in-game and you don't have to reload it. I'd say that in the end, whatever games are up in the chopping block should have an vote or a chance to save it something like that.

I'd like to put this into effect soon, so I'd like to know those that care about the arcade's opinions. :)

Is there any way to see how many times a game has been played within the last month, or week, etc.? I would think that probably any game that has been played a very small number of times in the last month could go.

I do like the idea of a "save me" topic though, before games are removed, in case a few people really want the game to remain.

No, there is no option to see which games have been played when in this version of the arcade.

However, instead of doing specific polls for the "save me" games...I think I will do topics(no polls), so that I know that active members wants the games saved.

Polls(at least in this area) often don't answer fully what I am looking for. So for example, if I made a topic to save a game with 50 plays, you'll have to post in the topic if you want it saved, not just vote. It helps to know who wants what.

So if only one or two poeple say thye like it, then why keep it if only two people are kinda playing it. :shrug

EDIT: Here's an example, take Prehistoric Crunch. It's only been played 47 time, there's only 5 scores on the high score list and there hasn't been a new one since august 18th.
