I'm trying to make the snowman head bigger, and I keep seeing penguins and bears on a very high glacier thing (near the mammoth). Is it possible to get up there?

Yup. A few months ago Vix got up there and taught us how.

The only thing is, I don't think getting up there will help the diameter any :(

Just yesterday I took a shot at breaking the 10m12cm mark, and failed miserably.

I gotta at least try getting up there. I've broken the 10m12cm mark by only 8cm, and I can't get better now. And after I read the topic, I found out why. I had no idea getting the mammoth at the right time would increase the size more than getting it as early as possible.

edit: I DID IT! I got up to the top! One red panda and one can of red paint! And a few other things. That chalkboard and few skis are blocked. Oh well.

edit2: Well, I finished it, but got 1mm less than my highest.

I don't think getting the stuff on the ledge matters. I think it's more of a matter of just circling around and grabbing objects and then at the right time, getting the mammoth.

And the stuff on the ledge didn't show up in the collection. I even searched the guides on GameFAQs for "red panda," and no results came up.

But yeah, it took me a while to get the stuff up there, don't think it added much if anything. And it ended up being totally random that I got the trees. I think someone once suggested to just roll up a ton of stuff and get the mammoth last so I did and it was like a size rush. Lots of extra cm there.

I remember you giving me that advice. That's exactly what I tried yesterday. I rolled and rolled until I was almost as tall as the green trees, (I didn't roll long enough for the size-up blur though,) got the mammoth, and couldn't roll up the trees. When I finished I was 10m7cm?! Now I'm more confused than ever.

Yeah, I know, it's weird like that. I think I rolled around the snow collecting items for a while before I finally went for the mammoth. I think the first time I just went for items, I accidentally snagged the mammoth and then realized I could get the trees. I need to bust it out and try that level again.

I'm-a gonna have to try that again. I'm surprised that nobody has researched the proper way to make a huge Katamari... @_@ whether you are best off picking up the largest possible objects when you're small, or rolling up literally smallest to biggest for the best results... hmm...

Af far as the largest katamari building, i think it strongly depends on the level as to how you would approach it.

Such as, in the 50-item level, you should try to avoid the tiny items. If they're in your way and that's the only way past, move slowly. I picked up a few small items by mistake and came up short of a super-clear for the level.

Well, I know that, but... ah, how can I explain this? What order of items to pick up is most effective in increasing your size...?

Hmm... I don't quite remember what I did... I gotta re-try the level and see if I remember.

In 50 Item I think those ancient fish guys are your best bet to start with. Then I head for the area with the big animals. And don't forget the rocks on top the hill once you're big enough.

I've only been big enough to pick up the palm trees a few times.

The original place Dr. Thinker uploaded his video, it was deleted. Does anybody know anywhere else where you can find it?
