Title: Farewell, my records... :(
Lo7 - August 10, 2006 01:12 AM (GMT)
Bad, bad news.
I've just overwritten my best save (with all my big records included with anothere with only some records of diameter, the one without presents, thinking I was loading, but instead I was saving...)... now?
What can I do?
All my records?
If someone take them under investigation?
All my collected items, the roses...
I am sooo sad. I have sill to do a lot of things with WLK, but I deleted all I got.
I do think to give up. I have been the first on the medal table for several times and just for few time even the first on the Scoreboard, but now it is too much to restart everything. I built all my records in 2 months.
Slo, don't worry, for my videos and SDA I'll try to do all my best. :)
matthew69, you are officially the world's best player, now. Congrats. :)
vix - August 10, 2006 02:54 AM (GMT)
Awww, don't give up just yet!. And don't worry about the investigation aspect(here at least).
Lo7 - August 10, 2006 03:05 AM (GMT)
I want to go on playing WLK... but this has really freaked me out. :(
Now I am first on the scoreboard and on the medal table, I would like to try defending my records, but I am so sad I'd like to change game now.
I can restart everything, yes, but there are some records I think I'll never get again.
discostu - August 10, 2006 03:18 AM (GMT)
i feel for you mate.
im no way as good as you but i know the pain of losing a save file i recently lost my WLK,guitar hero, hitman, gta sa and my pro evo team that took me nearly a year to build up.
ive redone hitman and downloaded gta but dont have the strength to redo guitar hero and katamari,i may do one day when i am bored
Karppa - August 10, 2006 06:30 AM (GMT)
Lo7, think of it this way: you only lost your savegame, your records are safely stored here. But yea, a major bummer :(
Lo7 - August 10, 2006 01:06 PM (GMT)
I have decided. I restart.
I want to be the best and going on fighting versus matthew, record by record. :)
I have stored all my old records on a document and I will try to redo them and, maybe, improve them.
Wish I have good luck. :)
matthew69 - August 10, 2006 01:39 PM (GMT)
I'm sorry to hear about this Lo7. (But I'm glad you've decided to keep playing.) You said you only lost ONE of your files. And it sounds like you want to get your records approved for cyberscore. So take digital pics of those that didn't get deleted, and post them -- that's a start. Then I'm SURE you'll be able to repeat the others -- you've risen to the top faster than any other player (you posted your first gold here only four weeks ago!).
DragonOfLore - August 10, 2006 04:26 PM (GMT)
*thinking back figured it would probably be better if i didnt respond ._.*
matthew69 - August 10, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
I'm bothered by Lo7's deference to me as the best player. I appreciate his humility, but there's now plenty of evidence to show that his generous statement is untrue! And I wanted to just make sure that everyone knows what an astounding feat Lo7's rise to the top has been.
What stands out to me is how quickly he's accomplished this. Consider the fact that just 3 weeks ago, most of Lo7's scores were mediocre or below average! He only joined this board a month ago. This means that on average he's scored very high, or highest, twice a day, every day, for a month straight. It boggles the mind. And somehow he also found time to get a million roses!
I've also been impressed with Lo7's range of talent. When I first came to this board, Yoda was the man. He had mad skills. But while he was very fast and had amazing dexterity and reflexes, IMHO he wasn't quite as good at creating his own routes. Yet Lo7 has been able to both emulate routes AND create his own. He's done this over and over again, excelling at all facets of the game.
I know this is like some cheesy love-fest here, but bottom line: I think we're looking at the best player ever. And I just wanted to take my hat off and applaud Lorenzo for this tremendous accomplishment.

Aww, sorry to hear about your records. :(
Keep playing though, and don't give up! :D
slo_bro - August 11, 2006 12:44 AM (GMT)
Well, I'm really glad to hear you're going to keep playing :) I mean, it would be a big loss to the WLK community if you quit.

Very true!!!
There are ways to download a completed save file of a game, but I am guessing you'd rather start from scratch yourself.
I lost my best Me And My Katamari file too. Yeah, it is a bummer when it happens :(
Good luck rebuilding, I know you can do it.
discostu - August 11, 2006 12:46 AM (GMT)
i can upload my me and my katamari file if you want i have us game version
slo_bro - August 11, 2006 12:54 AM (GMT)
I really thank you for the offer, but I lost my file two or three months ago. Since then I have rebuilt somewhat (at least I have all the eternals unlocked again). But I really appreciate the offer.
discostu - August 11, 2006 12:55 AM (GMT)
no worries,if only i could download a wlk file :( i will have to redo it someday
mmk is easier to do cos its portable,i just dont feel like sitting down and playing wlk anymore
slo_bro - August 11, 2006 03:24 AM (GMT)
Heh, like Vix and I are talking about in a different thread, it is possible to unlock all WLK's stages except Cousins and Roses in under an hour and a half. But I know that fact doesn't help anybody.
Discostu, I just checked GameFAQs, and early this month somebody did upload a save file for the European version of WLK. You'd need a Max Drive.

That's great, discostu.
Anyway, I'd like to redo everything by myself.
I have got the american version of WLK. ;)
Karppa - August 11, 2006 06:51 AM (GMT)
Lo7: great opportunity to switch to European version, there's new stuff in it like cousin planets which you can visit while in space.
Lo7 - August 11, 2006 11:59 AM (GMT)
Really? Is there anything else of extra?
I'd like to switch on italian version. :)

I have to say only one thing: I decided to improve all my records only when I saw a video of a Katamari player. I knew I could be as good as him.
That player was you, after watching your ALAP1 20secs video. ;)
Thanks, really thanks.
edit: ops, I quoted the wrong message. :D

Judging from what I see on Cyberscore, it looks like you've probably met (and improved upon) most of your old records. Good job :notworthy
Any chance you'll record some levels? :poke Matthew69 and I want to see what you can do.

As you know, I am playing the american version of WLK and I have some troubles with taping.
I'm going to move to the italian version and tape soon. Very soon. ;)
slo_bro - August 18, 2006 11:43 PM (GMT)
Great! No hurry, but I'd sure like to see what you can do.
discostu - August 20, 2006 12:27 AM (GMT)
just started playing wlk again just for fun now,i love this game its miles better than MMK.im much better than i was first time round i seem to be getting better scores,i wont be getting n the scoreboard tho im not even near that kind of skill,im jus playing for the enjoyment of katamari :D
Father Time - May 3, 2007 06:38 AM (GMT)
Lo7 think of this as being somewhat like enjoying katamari again for the first time. I used to (and still do) delete my old Crash games saves on purpose for the fun of strating ever and going through the levels again. If i didn't delete my progress thne going through the levels again would have me either going for the gem (which is not that fun in some cases) the relic (which can be fun but not always) or a complete waste of time whereas if my progress was "accidentally" deleted then it would serve a purpose and thus it would not be hampered by the fact that I was accomplishing nothing and it would seem like I was enjoying them for the first time even though I know the nooks, crannys and secrets of every level (however this only works because ye olde crash games are very fun). So forget about your records, you can't change the past, you just got to roll with it (pun intended).
Lo7 - May 3, 2007 04:07 PM (GMT)
Thank you Father Time for the advice, but that happened a long time ago but I restarted and I have regained all my records (all improved) since that. :D
