One of the reasons why I ran the Katamari Damacy tourney was to motivate myself to practice KD, with the hopes of recording a video all the way from starting a new save file to rolling up the countries. Thanks everybody for letting me keep the tourney going even though it has not been popular! It really helped me.

I have skipped ahead and practiced MAS5 and Moon some even though their tourney rounds have not come up yet, and when I finally did Moon in under 8 minutes for the first time I decided it was time to start recording. And now I have recorded four attempts. The first three were unspectacular, but ...

The fourth was going well, not perfectly but well, through the first 8 stages. Then I got to Make A Star 9. Right away I botched my little trick where I bounce right up to the higher level with all the items. And that was only the beginning ... I had tons of problems that level, and finished 20-30 seconds slower than I wanted to.

But then it was time to play Make the Moon :) I got lucky a couple times, and a lot of parts went smoothly, and when I was done I had taken 6:53, a full 50 seconds faster than I had ever done it before! :) I know Naota and Snapdragon are even a lot faster than that, but that was way faster than I ever dreamed of doing Moon in a single-segment video.

Overall, adding up the times of all 10 stages, my video went exactly 15 seconds faster than if you add up the time of all Snapdragon's videos, so it went way better than I had expected. I plan to submit that new video to Speed Demos Archive soon.

It should be at least kind of interesting to watch, because in a lot of stages my routes are a lot different from Snapdragon's. But don't misunderstand, still I took LOTS and LOTS of help from Snapdragon's videos ... before watching his the best I ever did on Moon was 14 minutes for example.

If my video makes it onto SDA then I hope somebody enjoys watching it :)

And, even better, Naota may soon send some KD videos!! He has done at least two that hardly sound believeable: Moon in 6:12, and Ursa Major in 1:55. And he may send in others too.



This is all in addition to the stuff I sent in half a month ago: 4 WLK improvements and a bunch of Me And My Katamari videos. Plus Matthew69 may send in We Love Katamari videos. And Yoshifan (not of this message board) may send three of his old WLK vids. And Prince's Bride may send AFAP1 0:31.

So if any of this stuff is accepted, expect some more videos to watch on Speed Demos Archive soon. Hope you like them.
