Title: A question about records
Lo7 - July 13, 2006 10:40 PM (GMT)
How can I keep my records of bonfire stages as fast as possible into the save of WLK? I think it is impossible, because if I select "stardust" no comets appear, so my record wouldn't be registered. So, how do you keep your recors of completion time and diameter of bonfire stage? Do you use another save?
Thanks :)
slo_bro - July 14, 2006 12:29 AM (GMT)
There's no way on one save file. You can write them down, or take a picture if you really want to. Or use another save.
Lo7 - July 14, 2006 01:45 AM (GMT)
so, slowbro, you use two save files, right?
I asked because it is soooooo boring restarting all the game and unlocking the bonfire stage.
If someone on Cyberscore will put my records under investigation I think I'll send a photo.
slo_bro - July 14, 2006 02:12 AM (GMT)
I actually have three save files, lol, one of them has all the presents uncollected so I can collect presents while going for diameter records.
But some of my records and stuff are not saved. Some of them I only have on photos.
Just beware if you choose to have two save files, be careful if you switch between them. Recently in M&MK I chose "save" instead of "load," then chose my other file, then sped past the warning the game gives you to avoid exactly this. :crybaby :lol I lost one of my files.

I have 2; 1 as completed - usually where I save the ALAP/AFAP scores -, other to get scores like Campfire and Sumo times (although I'm not playing it now ´.´).

By the way, you are a monster in bonfire stages!
I'm trying to understand which route is faster, but I also do my records with 20 seconds of gap from yours (small, medium, large). :glare :P
Ok, I think I have to create two other save files. :thumbsup

Only those stages, though >_>
I have some videos, but they're worse than the records now.. especially the Small one ´.´
I think slo_bro will send/already sent some videos to Speed Demos Archive; it'll probably give a good route there =)
slo_bro - July 16, 2006 02:38 AM (GMT)
I will be sending my tapes to SDA on Wednesday so the videos will take over a month before they're availible. None of my times are as good as Anwonu's though.
Is there any specific Campfire stage you want help in? I or somebody else could describe a route.
If you'd rather work on them on your own, that's definitely alright too!
Lo7 - July 16, 2006 01:49 PM (GMT)
One month? :(
I'll wait patiently :)
Anwonu, if you can, try to upload them, even if the quality is bad (it is enough studying the route, if the route you follow is the same, there's no problem).
By the way, I've just overtaken you on cyberscore medal table :bleh
My next target is you, slowbro! :D

Yeah, I noticed that.. I was like "damn, matthew69 already put me in 4th place on the scoreboard, now it's Lo7 who'll beat me too =x" =x
About the video.. actually, the quality is too high (about 36MB for a 1:40min video..), and the route is way different than I do now. With that route (I described it on another topic), I could get a max of :47, IIRC. Now, after slo_bro got a new record, I started looking for a new route, until getting to :43, and then, after matthew PM'd me about the times and the video, I got that new record (:41), trying again this stage =p
I may try getting a video to, at least, show you the route, but I don't know if I'll get to this game back again soon ´.´

:D I do like the Cyberscore medal table. Yoda plowed way past me some time ago. Has matthew69 passed me yet? I'm guessing he has. I am most definitely not safe regarding lo7 or Anwonu; before long I might not be in the top 5 :)
Sorry, but a month is probably a low estimate for the SDA videos. It may take a lot longer.

D'oh, I'll wait moooooore patiently... :smirk
Because of this long time that has to pass yet, can I already know, at least, what these videos are about (stages and times)?
I like the CS medal table too. The thing I dislike is the CSP score. :dead
Anyway, the gap between us is of 4 gold medals. I may try to obtain also them, but it's hard. Stay tuned! :yes

If I understood you will upload the blue improvements, right?
slo_bro - July 19, 2006 01:33 AM (GMT)
Yup, the black ones are already there. With any luck the blue ones will be up on SDA within a month or two. There is always the chance that they will be rejected, or they will not make it to SDA somehow.
slo_bro - August 4, 2006 08:45 PM (GMT)
Hey Lo7, congrats on reaching first place in the Cyberscore WLK medals race! :applause
Waaaaaaaa, find a way to record for SDA, I want to see your Sumo Small and Sumo Large completion times on tape!
The competition in WLK is extremely fierce now, I don't know how you could have found that many more records you could break.
In case anybody's interested, the competition on Cyberscore in KD has not been as fierce as it is in WLK so far; in that game I bet you guys could get lots of easy medals.
Lo7 - August 5, 2006 12:57 AM (GMT)
Oh, thanks a lot, slo!
I do enjoy reaching all these records so far. I discovered some my own routes and they allow me to get the goal really quickly. Now I'm going to try to overtake some others gold medals!
I would like to make some videos of my records, but as you maybe know, I have no videorecorders and my internet band is very slow (dial up, I think that uploading one of them would be very boring).
Anyway you may be helpful for me: I'm looking for a good videorecorder. I don't know how to chose and where to purchase it. If you can find one for me (the shop must ship the stuff in Italy) send me a link. ;) I promise I will record all my routes.
Thanks again. :smirk
slo_bro - August 5, 2006 01:10 AM (GMT)
Really? :) You'd be interested in recording/willing to record some videos? Would you be willing to send some to Speed Demos Archive?
I'm going to be sending you a PM about this really soon ...
Lo7 - August 5, 2006 01:18 AM (GMT)
Yes, even if now I have no saved money. :D
I can try, after all I must give you my skills as you all gave me yours with your videos. :thumbsup
