do you get anything for getting everything ( everything meaning: all items, all gifts, biggest cow/bear there is, an exactly 10m north star, every star is a comet, and all swans, fish, twins, etc.)

the only thing you are rewarded for is getting all the items and that lacks a lot, I won't spoil it for ya though.

That's one area I feel the game lacks the most, rewarding you for all items, etc.

Well, there is a reward of sorts for getting all the comets. when/if you have them all, try viewing them all one after another (wait until one is gone before hitting the next button)

I'd like to count Personal Satisfaction and Bragging Rights as Rewards too. And I guess you could call the Perfect Brightest Sky a reward if you want.
