Title: Tutorial 5mm more?
princessmononoke - March 26, 2006 08:47 AM (GMT)
hey when I did the tutorial level I collected everything I thought and got 24cm0mm but 24cm5mm is the high score. does anyone know where those last 5mm come from?

me theory is it has something to do with the order items are picked up but i'm not positive.

Someone should figure this out soon...

someone should also figure out 1m19cm on alap 2...
khfan1 - March 27, 2006 01:23 AM (GMT)
I think the person must have glicthed outside a fence, and picked something up... Either that or they lied... or typo...

You can notch me up as one who does not believe that 1m19cm is possible in ALAP 2. However, I definately will not call Ludivine a liar; I think he simply made a typo when he entered that score, since all his other scores on the board are very reasonable. I find myself doing that at times, although I've always been lucky enough to catch the mistype before it was actually posted up. I'll just say that on one level, I made a *very* bad mistype before, and if someone had seen it before I was able to correct it, I would have been immediately banned.

people have made mistype's before, the original high score on the tutorial was something like 25cm5mm when it was a typo.
and you won't get banned for make typo's, lol.
my theory on this level is that certain items will increase your size more if collected at a certain time, look at the snowman level, that's a prime example, if you wait to get the mammoth, it increases your size largely to the point where you can pick up the trees.
and outright saying folks are lying isn't cool, khfan, remember what happened when someone said you were lying about your scores?
khfan1 - March 27, 2006 06:02 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I don't like being accused of lying, or people accusing people of lying.
Hopefully it was just a typo, or they had glitched outside the fence, or maybe they found something nobody else has... After all, vix picked up trees and boosted her size quite a bit. (I glitched outside of the fence once, that is why I brought it up.)
Karppa - March 27, 2006 12:45 PM (GMT)
I've glitched outside the fence once in the snow/roses level, but there was nothing to pick up (since you can't pick up objects in rose levels). Still, I'd like to hear how that 24cm5mm was achieved (pick up all the angels last?)

I'm glad others have raised the issue of Ludivine's ALAP2 1m19cm0mm, since I tend to agree with others that it looks suspicious and is probably a typo. It's anomalous to the other scores -- including his own in the other categories! So was this astonishing size ever formally contested? And was it ever confirmed? Can we (respectfully) do that, please?
vix - May 3, 2006 05:00 PM (GMT)
Ludivine has not visited the board since October 13 so the chances of contacting him/her are probably slim. I've always noticed that score as probably being a typo but I can't just assume or whatever. If you guys think it should be removed, I'll remove it but I don't think it needs a formal challenge. :china

On a good ALAP2 run, in the last 15 seconds or so, you're glad to see your katamari increase by MILLImeter increments. The five-CENTImeter jump to 1m19cm seems to be a giveaway that it's a typo. But if Ludivine ever returns from his six-month haitus, with proof in hand, well then I guess we'll eat our words and repost the score. But I don't see that happening.

yeah, i hear ya...anyone else have any opinions?
khfan1 - May 7, 2006 04:38 AM (GMT)
Even if he/she did glitch the game, I don't think the size would have increased by that much. I think that it is a typo.
