i've been trying to get a higher score on the sun, so after getting all the large stuff and most of the stars, i hooked up some rubberbands and let it go for a while....

apparently, the longer you play, the less stuff becomes visible in the katamari....out of the 7,016 items i have rolled up so far...you can only see a quarter of a green comet and a two or three stars.

If you keep rolling the katamari, all of the stuff will go inside the katamari!
I didn't finish the level though, but I think its kind of cool. :)

when i finally went and rolled up the sun, the "katamari" was actually smaller than the sun, it looked kinda funny

It happens on all levels; the longer you roll, the smoother your katamari becomes. In the 50-item, by the time I pick up my 4th item, the first two are barely visible. You can use this to your advantage by doing small circles in place for a while to get rid of any large bumps in your katamari, making for a smoother rolling experience.

Hmm, that would actually work well on 50 item run, I should try it.

It makes me wonder what sort of object the katamari ball really is. Some kind of strange calabi-yau ball.
