Title: Roll Up The Earth...
Description: comments?

Hey all!

Just wondering other people's Roll Up The Earth routes -- it's not really quite like the other levels, but it really is... the perfect route can get you all the countries in just enough time, but the wrong route will always leave you with 15 or 20 not saved...

any particular routes? :smirk

:D I go up, and left, after that I just continue to follow the little countries, and pick up all the countries that are around the same size as me. Make sure you grab all the little countries, and don't skip them. That is what works for me... Good luck

From my FAQ at GameFAQs:

"Talk to Tomio Hoshino after completing the game, you will be rolling around
Earth.

Welcome to Earth. It's not much, but we like to call it home... for now...

You'll start off near Australia, surrounded by some island nations, so get
those. Island nations are actually your greatest worry here, since they can be
easy to miss and hard to find when you're bigger, so keep an eye out for the
slightly lighter colored dots.

Immediately work your way over India and into the Middle East and Europe, where
you should be able to pick up every country right away. God bless border
disputes. From here, pick up Africa, you should be able to pick it all up,
including Libya, which they thankfully didn't name fully (Great Socialist
People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya (Qadhafi is a genius)).

Anyways, go on to South America, you may need to pick up some of Central
America before you can get Brazil. You might be able to get all of North
America at this point but if you can't it's not hard to come back for Canada
and the US. Go for East Asia now, cleaning up all but Russia.

You should be able to get Australia and Antarctica now, and you should have
very little left. Hopefully only missing Russia. Do a quick spot check for
any small countries you might have missed. You know you have them all when you
have 195 and a little crown appears next to your total.

If you're running out of time, an alarm will start sounding. Head for the
former site of North America and get the weird meteor. You may even have to
wait for it if you did this fast enough."

i just cant seem to crack 99%!

I'm really quick with everything else, and this is my last katamari to really overcome (besides the last 810,000 roses I have left to roll)...

...but that walkthrough bumped me up from 96%!

sweet! :thumbsup

I find it much easier than it was during the credits in KD... for one thing, your view isn't constantly zooming out. Additionally, you seem to move a bit faster. Going after the small, easy to miss countries first is usually a good strategy. Start with the islands around where you begin, work your way towards Africa, going around the coast to pick up more islands, and then head into Europe before going after the Americas. Once there's only one or two countries left, I find that rolling around backwards is sometimes a better way to spot them.

You will frequently not snag all the small countries in just one or two roll throughs of Africa/Europe, so spin the camera (after your first few runs) while rolling and make sure you don't miss any of those hard-to-see countries. I've gotten 100% numerous times. The hardest is just getting Russia after all the others before the comet hits.
