Alrighty...this is probably a shitty poem compared to my others...but still...'tis a said one...based on things I've read about...and maybe a little bit on an argument my parents had not long ago in honesty...anywho...here we goes...
And She Cries
She cowers, against the wall
He is pressing in
His eyes burning
He looks manic and ready
Ready to kill
Capable of anything
And she cries.
And it’s his fault.
He yells, screaming into her face
His alcohol tempered breath
Staining the air
Drunk, out of his own skull
Ready to kill
Capable of anything
And she cries.
And it’s his fault.
The knife glints in the firelight
He brings it to her throat
Not quite piercing
But her screams pierce my soul
He’s going to kill
He’s capable of anything
And she cries.
And it’s his fault
He swoops forward with the weapon
And this time it pierces
Blood cascading
Flowing from her chest
He will kill
I knew he was capable of anything
And she cries.
And it’s his fault.
She falls to the floor swiftly
But he doesn’t care
Her eyes closed
The tears still flowing fast
He has killed
True realisation hits us both
And she dies.
And it’s his fault.
I can’t bring myself to say farewell
And he isn’t there
He left before
Not wanting to be imprisoned
He killed her
And she’s dead.
And it’s his fault.
Though, it wasn’t really all his fault
I could have saved her
But I didn’t
I feared for my own life
He would have killed me
And she’s dead.
And it’s my fault.
I found this poem very touching! Now is this based off of something that happened to you or were you just writing.
Hmm...in the main, just writing...but my parents had an argument a while back, so I kinda exaggerated quite a bit on that...
Kind of scary... reminds me of something that went wrong in my family.
It's a great poem though.
