Description: Fave Characters
japanese princess - November 16, 2005 04:33 AM (GMT)
Who is your fave character and y?
Mine is of course the one and only Edward Elric. for staters, he's very cute and has mesmerizing eyes. He has a short temper that is very funny and enjoyable. he's kool and he know's how to rock a party. for example, when ed went to the devil's place (to get al back)and greed was trying to talk he told greed to shut up. he's very demanding and determined and i really like that about ed. he's confident, but he's not too confident!!!! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
The Jewel Alchemist - November 16, 2005 04:57 AM (GMT)
My most Favorite character is Edward Elric. Why you may ask? Well he is strong in will and physically. He is handsome, and full of life. He is a rebel, strong-headed and very smart about alchemy. He is also a person that rises above all expectations, he excells in his age group in alchemy preformance. Plus he not only had the talent to preform alchemy, he worked hard at perfecting it. He is caring and sweet in very subtle ways. If he is insulted he always fights back, hot-headed one could say, or sensitive. He never forgets who he is nor what he is fighting for during his long journey. He always believes in himself, confident and sure, almost too sure somtimes. He has a fighting spirit, and is short, just like me...(me=5 feet1/4 inch :( and beilieve me I am not growing anymore...)
Krazydog - November 16, 2005 07:21 PM (GMT)
Greed, he's the kindest and coolest Homunculi with an easy going and carefree nature. He's funny in both the anime and the manga, he's rebellious and independent. No one can control him, if he is cornered than he never submits himself, rather he'll find an alternate way to escape. He died a death he did not deserve, and from the looks of it, he's the most unique (style wise). Even though he claims he is bad, the guy still got a heart.
He's a pimp, and greedy! Plus he admits it too! He doesn't want to become human like the others, and he's got an ambition. He may be greedy, and sometimes can be slow but HEY atleast he's honest. He also cares about his henchmen (Except Kimbley... that Bastard...)
And in my opinion he's gotta be the strongest of them all ^^.
My second favorite is Scar, because... he's sexy and dangerous. Plus, like Greed he's not really a badguy and his evilness isn't that bad, It's RETRIBUTION! MUAHAHAHAHA!
Lightning Alchemist - November 17, 2005 03:33 AM (GMT)
Roy, because he's ambitious and determined. He's also very kind hearted, and cares deeply for those around him, despite his apathetic facade. He's also got really cool alchemy- all he has to do is snap his fingers, and stuff goes "boom"! Not to mention that I think he’s hot.
Hmm, what else can I say... oh yeah. For the first few weeks that I was a fan of FMA, I didn't have a favorite character- I thought that Roy was cool, but I didn't like him much more than my other preferred characters. But soon, whenever I watched the DVD’s I would get this funny little feeling when I saw him, and then I realized that I liked him best! :D And now I love him to death.
He's just so lovable.

OMG EMILY I TOLD YOU!! YOU CANT LIE!! PROOF THAT YOU THINK A DRAWING IS HOT!! OH YOU HOT PWNED!!!!! :P :P :P :P
Greed828 - November 19, 2005 06:01 PM (GMT)
Right... which one is Emily? Is it Lightning?
xPanic - November 19, 2005 11:39 PM (GMT)
hmmm
I'd have to say my favourite character is Hughes. Mainly because he pisses Mustang off so much and actually supported him in his .."plot to become furher"
japanese princess - December 9, 2005 03:43 AM (GMT)

Here's how i picture ed in the future. i made him much taller so he cant be critized and downlooked by anyone any longer.
Ha, laugh at that tall bastards!!!! (LOL, jus kidding)
The Jewel Alchemist - December 9, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
OMG Japanese Princess...did you draw that!!! Ed looks even more beautiful with longer hair!!! Such talent you have! I wish I could draw that beautifully! Well done, my hat is off to you my dear! *Claps* I love the cross hatching, I haven't been able to do that so well, did you use pen? Becuase that, for me, is the hardest medium to work with! I am more of a painter myself. Anime isn't my strongest point since, being in school, I haven't the time to draw. I am more of a landscape artist sadly. I do wish I had your magnificient talents though! Do you think you could post some tips about how you draw your anime so well! How did you come up with the picture of the Musical Alchemist? Can you tell me tips on how to make an anime person look older, how did you do it for Ed? And how in the world did you achieve such a smooth textire and such soft pastel colors with oil pastel? Such attention to detail, the folds in the clothing the shimmer in her eyes, and the way light reflects of her hair...simply wonderful how do you know where to put the folds? I mean, my drawings in oli pastel always look saturated with color every singel time!! How did you get such thin lines with oil pastel?! What brand of oil pastels did you use?! The flow of the hair is perfect and natrual! Any tips on the hair?! I am sorry I am asking so many questions but your art work is fantastic. However I guess since drawing is sometimes an iterative thing, such skills might come from more practice, but, just wow! Do you mind if I use that picture for my trailer for my story? Pretty please?!!!!PM or post me the answerswhichever is fine!!! I am just stunned by your artwork! I certainly pale in comparison to you!
japanese princess - December 9, 2005 04:10 AM (GMT)
LOl, thank u so much. jewel alchemist, i'm really glad u enjoy my work, but remember when we was talking about how we are able to write good poetry by writing down our emotions and u have a good poem. that's the same thing i did with ed and kareyumi. i drew the grown up ed picture from a dream i had, and i drew kareyumi from one of the stories i created about me and ed. with the words i used to describe her, i used that to create her visually.
i drew ed with a pencil, i just kept going over it and shading it to make it look darker.
see i start out drawing light, so wen i mess up, it's easily to erase. but i start out drawing the outline of the body, then slowly work my way into the details wit the eyes and the lips, etc. the key thing u have to remember is the little details, you'll be surprised how great u can make a picture look jus by adding more and more details!!!!!
Ps. i really enjiy your poetry, especially the won entiled goodbye something, i can't quite remember, but i rememer the poem it's self. it brought tears to my eyes, great work jewel alchemist, bravo.

There might be spoilers below, so watch out.
1. Greed-Because: He's awesome. He's really greedy and badass and all, but he's got a good side too. He freed Al when things got dangerous, he got a little pissed when Ed disregarded Al's safety, he didn't wanna hit Izumi (and the whole "You're master is amazing." thing really made me laugh), he told Ed how to kill a homunculi, he freed all his chimeras and gave them jobs and hope, and was really upset in both the anime and manga when they died...and his looks don't hurt, either XD
2. Izumi Curtis- Because: She's amazing. Al and Ed becoming her apprentices was the smartest thing they ever did. She's a genious : She's knowledgable and wise. She made her mistakes, and instead of trying to get her organs back, she accepts it as her punishment. And she's like the mother Ed and Al lost, and they're like the sons she lost and never got to know. She gets pissed at them, but underneathe it she loves them both and aids them in their journey. And her fighting skills are hilarious and awesome at the same time.
3. Alphonse Elric- Because: What can I say? I love rooting for the underdog. He actually sems to care about Greed's feelings ("You've been a good little hostage, Alphonse. You could've ran away. I've been a little....distracted" "Escapings not on my mind right now" *Greed looks at Al* "Yeah, right") and in the manga he was horrorstruck that he couldn't save Greed or Martyl. Al knows that he has loads to learn and looks at everyone as equals, not inferiors, rather than Ed. He respects Greed's dying wish and thinks they should fulfull it. The poor guys going through a lot, but he still puts others first.
4. Martyl/Marta- Because: In the anime, you get to know her a lot and realize what an awesome person she is. She's gone through hell in that lab, but in her dying moments her last thought wasn't revenge on the military or killing Kimbley; It was to protect Al, Ed, and the citizens of that one town (Can't recall the name...) And seriously; That women has a lot of patience. After putting up with Ed's high and mighty I'm so righteous for killing Greed speech, she shurgged it of with a tight smile and killed a snake for Ed to eat.
5. Hughes- Because: How can you NOT like him? Seriously! I would kill to have a father like him (not that I don't love my father, of course  ) But seriously: He cares about Ed and Al and tries to help them reach their goals as well as Mustangs. He stopped Mustang from making the huge mistake of human transmutation and then offered to push him to the top. I was seriously bawling when he died and the funeral broke my heart as well. He's gone now....So we must all spread the Gracia and Elysia love!
*cough* I have many many more favorites, but I'm not going into detail. You may have noticed that I don't like Ed from that, but that's just my opinion and I respect other people's opinions. (....Most of the time)
ed's girl08 - January 3, 2006 11:55 PM (GMT)
I like Ed as my username suggests! He is just so ramdon but knows where he needs to get too! I also think he has alot of courage for saving his brother even after loosing his leg! He is also soo cute! I love the blonde hair and yellow eyes! Then I have to admit that I like Roy Mustang! He is just cute and even though he hates to show it he cares about Ed and Al! I like that tough guy afraid to show his feelings act!
japanese princess - January 31, 2006 08:46 PM (GMT)
Hey Edward rocks for plenty of reasons, and it's not just because of his looks, I mean come on, he has super kool alchemic abilities, and he's had them for a long time. He is a living prodigy. He's made the accomplishment of becoming the youngest alchemist ever to serve under the military, he makes the choices that he feel are right. No ones a physic. So the only thing he can do is go off total instinct.
Let's not forget about Ed's courage. I mean with all of the dangers he and his brother has faced together, he continued to achieve his goal towards finding the philosopher’s stone. He has great determination. Before Ed and Al got the philosopher’s stone. They’ve been searching for it for three years without getting any leads. Any other person would have been quieted and gave up on finding and achieving their goals.
He has balls. He chose to go against the entire military and his fearful teacher Izumi. Even when she kicked his as on York Island, he told her in her face, that no matter what he wasn’t gonna give up looking for the philosopher’s stone to get him and his brother’s body back to normal. No matter what the cost is.
He’s a very loving person. During their journeys towards finding the philosopher’s stone, he helped a countless amount of people. The main reason he is searching for the philosopher’s stone was for his brother. I mean Ed can live with an auto mail arm and leg. But he is more worried about helping his brother get his body back to normal so he could feel human and alive again, instead of the metal senseless body he had now.
Man don’t get me started. I can go on and on with Ed. It’s not just his looks that captivates the inner beauty and love that people feel for him. That’s might what some people think, but not me. My love towards Ed is skin deep.
Remember That, Ha!
The Jewel Alchemist - February 1, 2006 12:23 AM (GMT)
YES! Exactly my thoughts Japanese Princess! He captivating looks only add to his personality, and all the wonderful attributes that he has! He is simply my ideal man! But Alas...I have to find a man in this world that's like dear Edward!
japanese princess - February 2, 2006 06:14 AM (GMT)
yeah it really would be kool to find someone like Ed. It would be too good to be true. But if it happens, then hey i have no problem with it, ha ha ha
But yeah, my whole point of that little essay was to show people that Ed's looks isn't the only thing going for him ya know.
Everyone's like "Oh they just like Ed cause he look cute, that's the only thing they can say about him", and my point was well proven in that essay above I think. I wanted to say more, but i felt that the words i had was enough to shut the mouths of those people who really think Ed is just a cuttie and nothing more ;)

1. Alphonse passed the exam at age 10. The only reason he didn't get his liscense is because he didn't have a body. He also has amazing alchemic abilities.
2. That stubborness is the same thing that nearly got him and Al killed many times.
3 and 4. Al has the same determination, if not more. And Al's living a hellish half-life right now, but still wants Ed to get his body back first. Ed's not the only person in the world with automated limbs. And don't forget that Ed never listens to Al's suggestions.
I could rant about why I dislike Ed for quite some time. I didn't just pick him out and decide to dislike him. I have reasons. I'll share them if you really want me to.
Krazydog - February 5, 2006 01:53 AM (GMT)
Thank you SUMMONER COLETTE! *Bows down to your greatness and decides NOT to eat you*
Al has it rough, way more than Ed. Ed loses arm and leg, Al has NO body. I know how he feels to have an older sibling YOU CAN'T control. That hot-headedness gets in the way like crazy. Also even if he doesn't wollow in his misery and just keeps going, you get the impression that he sometimes just doesn't care and/or he's impulsive. He may be a prodigy, but the guy never seems to use his head half the time >>;; and is violent... like my little sister... and that's pretty violent. He may be good looking to all of you but Puh-leaze~ Al looks so much better in his human form.
Summoner Colette - February 5, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
Yay, I'm not gonna get eaten!
But I liked Ed when he was twelvish...He listened to Al then, and was a little sweetie...When he grew up though, he changed a lot....In a bad way.
Krazydog - February 5, 2006 04:53 PM (GMT)
True, it must be his developing rebellious streak. Al goes through it too I think.

More so in the manga then in the anime, though.
I wouldn't say 'rebellious' though. More like...More confident. He speaks him mind more.
Riza_Mustang - February 5, 2006 08:52 PM (GMT)
My favorite character HAS to be Riza Hawkeye! Why you may ask? She isn't like that saying that blonds are stupied. *Sailor Moon* She doesn't flirt with every boy in the Military. She doesn't wear tight clothes that shows her every curve on her body. She isn't a magic girl who can't protect herself. She uses a .45. (The pistol.) She the perfect role model for me. She speaks her mind and is sharp tongued. She doesn't wear mini skirts. (YAY-YAY-YAY-YAY-YAY!) She have a doggie! She is not willing to hide in Roy Mustang shadow. (Sorry, Roy, it is true. Even if I love him.) She loves Roy secretly. (IT IS OBVIOUS, PEOPLE!!)

1. There are many benefits and disavatanges that has gotten Ed's Stubborness through many rough and bad times
2. I didn't say Ed was the only person in the world with auto mail. I was saying that he is trying to make things right again because of the mistake he made.
3. Even doe Al is the one who is having to live with a tin body and suffers from it. Ed suffers from it the most (I believe), because of the guilt and the actions he took on that made his brother the way he is now.
4. When Al lost his body, Ed could of have just whimped out and said, "Oh my brother is gone but theres nothing i could do about." He could of just left it alone and tried to move on with his life without his brother, but he chose to surrender his human limbs just so his brother could enjoy life once more.
5. It's because of Ed's love and devotion to his brother that has gotten them to the point where they are now.
I mean sure Ed made the mistake of performing a trasmutation. But he was young and very uninformed of the Consequences. But both him and Al has risk it all just to redeem themselves from the mistake they made years ago, and i think that is what really counts.

1. Ed's stubborness, impulsiveness and ignorance, if you can count all of them, has done more harm than good. This i can assure you. (Most of which caused the death of MANY characters)
2. Automail, alot of people have it for better reasons. (Like Pinanya) They were harmed in war/ accidents. Ed's redemption is caused by his own ignorance. Also they even said BEFORE they did the transmutation that it was
A. Forbidden
and B. Has never been successful.
Just shows he doesn't use his prodigy-like intelligence when it counts the most.
3. He may feel guilty, but the pain is harshest on Al, Ed even said so. When Ed went through surgery he even said that Al was the most pained. First off, he has no body. Second off, he knows his awkward body will cause trouble for him and his brother and he would be outcasted for it. For a young boy, that's a BIG thing. He feels helpless because he believes he was the one who should have stopped his brother from everything. And unless you haven't noticed it wasn't Ed who did the transmutation it was BOTH of them. Al uses his head more, and is still a sensitive child, don't forget.
4. No good brother would abandon their sibling. That is a given. Also, Ed lost an arm to get his brother back, Al lost his WHOLE body from Ed's mistake. If I'm not mistaken, It was ED who suggested to transmute their mom. And Ed lost an arm, Al would sacrifice his body for Ed, and even wants to get his limbs back as first priority and doesn't think about himself. ***SPOILER***80270827 It was Al in the end who sacrificed himself TWICE for his brother928783****
5. Ed's love and devotion... yeah... so what about AL? It's Al who motivates him, sure. But It's more like Al's love and devotion and Ed's stubborn intelligence. They move up one, jump back two spaces. That's how it is.
They were well informed about the consequences of human transmutation. It's not like they knew nothing. They even trained under Izumi and even she said so.
I think this conversation is over. Before the rabid Ed fangirls decide to kill me anytime soon. <_<
Summoner Colette - February 6, 2006 09:30 PM (GMT)
Good job Krazydog, you did that better then I could. ;)
But all I've done is counter reasons to like him, so I suppose I'll post my reasons why I dislike him.
So (Eh, possible spoilers for the anime and manga):
He is a hypocrite. He told Izumi and Scar "They aren't the people you love, just cheap copies" Who was the one screaming bloody murder when Sloth appeared? Also, he told Cornello to "not make a big deal over one or two arms" I don't even need to touch this one.
He refuses to cooperate with the people he does not like. For example: Greed and Mustang. Taking Greed's deal would have been risky with the Fuhur and all, but in a fight of Ed, Al, and Greed versus him, we know who would win. So much trouble could have been avoided, and some lives saved as well. He also refuses to cooperate with Mustang, as we have seen several times.
He thinks he's always right, so he won't take others advice. For instance, Al. As we know, Al tried to tell him three times who Sloth was, and each time he ignored him. Roy gave him loads of advice during their battle, and Ed has yet to use them. In the manga, Greed told Ed not to always follow his instincts and use his head. He's done this a few times, but more often then not, he follows his instincts.
Eh, I got more, but I'll stop there for a while. I don't want to look like a jerk.
Oh, and on one note: I like Ed in the manga. He's more level-headed, and he openly admits that he's wrong, and he takes others adivce every so often.
Krazydog - February 6, 2006 10:22 PM (GMT)
 That's why Al needs more devoted fans. As for me, *Hugs Greed and Gluttony and Scar* I got it ALLL covered...
Summoner Colette - February 16, 2006 07:13 PM (GMT)
It appears you do
I still really hate what Ed said at one point in the anime.
"Homunculi are mistakes that alchemists need to correct"
That line...Just disgusts me. Okay, my parents didn't plan on having me. You could say I was a mistake. Does that mean they should kill me? Chimeras are mistakes. Let's go kill all the chimeras! Oh, and Al's body is a sin against God too. Let's kill Al! <_<

my favorite characters are  ....ed and lust :D
