I'm not sure...... possibly.

and cloth material for the joints?

stevo - November 5, 2005 04:55 PM (GMT)
I don't know. Ask a girl. They know about this stuff.

static208 - November 10, 2005 03:41 AM (GMT)
lol i dont think that will work ;)

xPanic - November 20, 2005 12:40 AM (GMT)
well unless you're a blacksmith you're going to have to find a thin suit of armor. then yes black leather/clothes underneath or for joints, also thick blackish brown gloves.

You said to ask a girl so here is my imput, The metal must be sturdy so it doesn't bend, yet it is thin enough to be molded into the shape you desire. I also agree with the cloth joints. It might be difficult, but good luck.

Al Elric - December 10, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
dont u think that would be cool?

The Jewel Alchemist - December 10, 2005 06:32 PM (GMT)
If you have access to really thin metal then I would go for it! All you would need is a blow torch to melt the metal togeather. To shape thin metal would be easy but a lot of work. You would need a pretty strong hammer, or if the metal is thin enough you could bend it in to a certain shape then weld it togeaher to make a circle. To cut the metal into the shape you wanted you could use a blow torch make the metal hot enough then put it on a straight surface and hack the excess metal off with a strong hammer. Or you could put aluminum foil on cardboard, caurd board is easy to cut and shap with scissors or even an exacto knife, plus you could tape everything together with duck tape. You could also make the whole costume with duck tape. Those are some ideas I am just shooting out here. Hope I've helped!

That's really seeming like a good idea Jewel. What has Greed said? "There's no such thing as no such thing." And he's basically right, just have the right amount of will, and the right amount of materials. The only problem with that is that theres no way to prove it right or wrong, but i believe it.

I dont know much about metal or armor crafting, so i think Jewels advice would be worth trying.

Good luck!

I didn't mean that in a sexist way... just.... a guy doesn't know crap about that stuff. At least I don't.

I saw a picture of a guy who made an exact replica of Al's armor..it wasn't thin metal or anything, it was actually a suit of armor, pretty cool, but you have to be really talented.

Monchhichi - April 18, 2006 02:59 AM (GMT)
It would be interesting if you can actually make it out of metal. Seems like a lot of work to me.

Fullmetal Alchemist - April 19, 2006 11:59 AM (GMT)
How about we stick to foil first and then work our way up? ;)

fentonsgal - July 29, 2006 01:19 AM (GMT)
Well, I'm no authority on building armor, but I'll put in my two cents.

I reccomend a lightweight plastic called polystyrene. It's SUPER flexible and relatively easy to work with.

I made an automail arm out of it, and people thought it was real metal, so apparently it works well. :D
