Short authors note: Laura Michelle was my cousin...she died just last night in the hospital from cancer... This is dedicated to her since she was so tied up in Full metal Alchemist. Laura was a member here on the Full Metal Alchemist forums, screen name Shadow Mercury. She was born in Germany like I was, in the town of Munich, state of Bavaria. What I explained really did happen to her, her parents were murdered but for a whole different reason, the person who committed murder wanted to hurt Laura. She was taken and beaten half to death and dumped off one mile away from her home. She suffered with misery from age 5. She was a straight A student at Franklin Junior High school and don't forget she had a lot of friends. Just 5 months ago, she was diagnosed with cancer. She said "P´shaw I wont die, I don't want those treatments." and last night, she collapsed, weak and exhausted, she died 30 minutes after being hospitalized. There is a page written to you members on the Full Metal Alchemist forums, let her spirit live on. Some of you may not have known her, but others may have known her to the best. Tribute to Laura Michelle -- Chapter 1

On March 26th, 1923, Laura Michelle arrived in Munich, Germany, in the state of Bavaria. The German city folk walked past her like she was not even existent. Laura would have to learn more of their language if she were to blend into the crowd.
Laura had just turned 13ast week on March 19th. She suddenly gasped in terror as a German soldier hustled past her, she dropped her bag. The items skidded across the hard cold ground from the bag. She scrambled for them. Suddenly She felt a drop of rain on her nose. "I will have to hurry home in this weather," Laura thought to herself, "I really don´t want to catch a cold." Laura hurried to inspect the sky while running home, she had forgotten her red umbrella. Laura did not watch where she was going. Bash! She ran into someone and fell backwards. Laura looked up and saw Edward Elric.
"I am so sorry," Edward helped Laura to her feet, "I am really sorry for knocking you over."
"it is alright, I will be fine." Laura replied.
"is it alright if I take you with me?" Edward asked.
"Y-Yeah, fine with me.." Laura responded with a startled stutter.
Edward grasped Laura´s hand firmly and lead her to a fairly big house between Theresienstraße and Barer Straße.
"Here we are." Edward smiled.
Laura swallowed hard and walked in after Edward, she grasped his hand in fear as two strange people looked her straight in the eye.
"Laura, this is Noah and Alfons."
"Hey kiddo, whats your name?" Noah asked.
Laura cleared her throat, it made a harsh grating sound. "Laura...my name is Laura." Laura stuttered, she grasped Edward´s hand tighter. Edward looked down at Laura with a smile on his face, he lead her to a bedroom. "Here, you can sleep here."
The night came quickly, the pitter patter of the rain on the roof made a soft steady beat, it comforted Laura. Her eyes slowly closed and she wandered off into a deep dream-filled sleep.
Edward was suddenly awakened by screams coming from Laura´s room. He was instantly on his feet racing for her room. When he got there it looked like Laura was being tortured in her sleep. He ran in followed by Noah. Edward grabbed Laura, trying to console her.
"Laura..calm down...its me....wake up, you are having a nightmare." Edward urged, tightly hugging Laura.
Noah winced as Laura woke up screaming and crying.
"Edward its my turn." Noah exclaimed, pushing Ed away and hugging Laura tightly, and not letting go until she was calm.
Laura looked at Noah, her eyes widened and she faded into the little girl she was when her parents were assassinated for the worlds biggest weapon that could be used for mass destruction if used by the military. At that time as they were being killed, she was captured and taken to a dark place and beaten to near death. She opened her mouth and struggled to scream, but the darkness swarmed like a swarm of bees ready to destroy her. She lied there helplessly. Out of the flashback of her past life, she stood there with a frightened look on her face. Noah looked deep into Laura´s eyes, "Laura, sweetie, are you okay?" Noah asked, no reply from Laura, only an agonizing look that would hurt anybody.
She was suffering while her mind clung to the past constantly, not letting her go, its grip tightening painfully with each breath, the dark waited to consume her like a maggot does rotting flesh.
Edward looked closely into Laura´s eyes, what he saw scared him.. What he saw was a frightened, injured little girl lost in a world of sorrow and frustration, Sorrow snapped it's jaws, Agony licked its lips hungrily, Frustration paced back and forth in front of her, drooling, Pain lurked in every shadow, waiting for the moment to engulf her, and Fear was wrapping around her, suffocating like a boa constrictor does to its prey. She could do nothing; she couldn't move, she couldn't cry for help. Noah and Alfons watched in amazement as Edward comforted her, her whimpering ceased and this is when Edward expected her to tell him what was wrong, but she just sat there in a deep dark trance, all she could see was darkness. The darkness threatening to harm her mentally and physically, breaking her down piece by piece, decomposing her like organisms do to rotting flesh. Edward did not know what she had gone through to be this upset. Laura fell asleep minutes later in Edward´s arms. They could all relax now. Or can they?
