in the anime profiles book, it says envy's a girl!!! T-T i think it's because the amerman's don't want a guy wearing a skirt..>>;. but it's still creepy..

in the manga profile's guidebook it says envy is of an uncertain gender, but in the anime it clearly states 'she'. T-T.

Envy (the character) Is a male. It was said in the anime, and thus it is a he. And the skirt he wears is actually really tight shorts with a black towel wrapped over it.
But yes, the voice actor is a female. *Though I'm not quite sure for the japanese version*.
But he is HOHENHEIM's SON. Thus a male.

Homunculus is their species, not their gender. A dog can be a female and male, right? So does that make Lust and IT? When we all know she's obviously female.
Envy is a boy, end of discussion. The anime says 'she' because either A. The person translating it accidentally mistranslated *as are most american dubbed versions*
OR B. Anime Envy can spontaneously change sex. Which isn't true.
And it says "Unspecified" To prevent future spoilers if his gender is important preference in the future.
Conclusion: Envy is a boy. Get over it.

Ok Americans make Japanese translation errors all the time in the maga and that little book so yeah. Envy is a guy that acts like a little sissy girl, who wears cheap make-up, and owns what ten skirts, no big deal.

At first when I saw Envy I was like "That is one skimpy outfit the girl was wearing." Then somebody said he was a guy. Then I couldn't tell whether it was a guy or a girl. So I typed in "Is Envy A Guy Or A Girl?" on the Yahoo search engine and I saw the truth.

Okay heres what I got.
I have three different profile books and they all say something different.
But his ORIGINAL form is a man.
So he should be a guy but when he is in Envy form, I believe his gender is just unidentified.
