part 1
Moving on
it was a fairly cloudy afternoon at sunnydale middle school, 15-year old Kayley Kikore was now a sophmore. she had just got her drivers permit, despite her age. she was turning 16 in 2 months.
her friends, Kassy Kuraseki, 14, and Alyson Faren, 13, were on their way to the yearbook signing of 1945.
"ey! Kayley!" Kassy hollered, as Kayley walked out of the school office, "i've been lookin all over for you!"
"I bet you were.." Kayley sarcastically replied, then looked down at Alyson, "hey pipsqueak"
"why do you always say that?" Alyson asked, "i'm 5'4!"
the 3:00 bell rang.
"Anyone want a ride home?" Kayley asked, looking at her two friends
"Kayley...it's pure ice on the roads...are you sure?" Alyson asked with a frightened look on her face
"If you're that scared, I'll drive slowly" Kayley replied, patting Alyson's head like a dog.
"Kayley, remember we have our hockey Practice at 4, we can't leave right now." Alyson told her best friend, "We can wait! the hockey Practice will last until what? 7? you can drive us home then."
"Oh. Forgot about the hockey Practice, sorry Alz. Kassy, you alive over there?" Kayley laughed, noticing Kassy gawking at a cute guy.
"He's ....hot..." Kassy smiled, then blushed.
"and she goes for it!" Alyson smiled.
"let's stay in the library until the hockey Practice, we'll have to go there at 3:30 for preperation of the Practice." Kayley explained, "EY Kassy! we're going to the library! you comin?!"
"yes i'll be right with you...." Kassy replied in a daze, as her and the cute guy got closer to each other.
and closer...
and closer...
their lips touched softly as a butterfly lands on a flower, "aww" Alyson and Kayley laughed, the principal walked out of the office to see the two kiss, "No kissing in the school" he joked.
"hey Jake" Kassy smiled, "your a great kisser. i'll see you at the hockey Practice."
"I love you Kassy" Jake grinned, "I'll see you soon again"
Kassy ran after her friends, on their way to the library.
Alyson walked in first and saw Suzie. "Suzie!" then she noticed her boyfriend was by her, "oh hey Brandon"
Brandon walked past Alyson and gave her a hard shove, "Just playin."
Alyson ran into the wall, "yah, just playin....my butt!"
Suzie glared at Brandon then ran to see if Alyson was okay.
"I'm ok Suzie....." Alyson sighed, "Almost time for practice"
Alyson put on her Prowler Hockey sweatshirt and got her hockey stick and puck ready for practice, her skates included.
"Time to go down to the hockey practice rink." Kayley smiled, "remember it's about a block away, we'll come back at 7"
"Bye Ms. Fisher, Ms. Haugen!" Alyson waved at the librarians as they all left for practice.
they all walked down the slippery street, "haha better put on my skates" Alyson smiled, as she sat down on the cold ice and put on her blue and gold ice-skates. she stood back up and raced to catch up with her friends.
they turned the next block to see the Hockey Arena, "oh crud...we're late!" Kayley sighed.
When they entered the arena, Practice had already started.
"Alyson Faren! Kassondra Kuraseki! Kayley Kikore! Your on the bench for now!" the coach ordered.
6:00 rolled around the corner, "Okay Team! it's 6:00, but the weather is getting bad outside this arena! everyone please leave the Arena, Practice is rescheduled for next week on monday!"
The three girls walked out with the team, the rest of the girls and boys waiting for their parents, the road was sleek with ice.
Alyson gulped as Kayley lead her and Kassy to her car, "don worry you'll be alright"
Kayley put the car in reverse as soon as everyone sat down and closed their doors, she turned out of the school parking lot.
she gasped as her car and a man's car just about crashed into each other, she heard a whimper from the back seat.
"Alz....it'll be ok" Kayley reassured Alyson, but wasn't very sure of herself. A car suddenly pulled infront of them, "d*** car....I need to pass this guy to get you guys home!"
Alyson noticed Kayley passing illegally on the right, "Kayley NO!" Kayley lost control of the car, the car spun in a complete circle and into a ditch, glass shattered, Alyson heard screams and her whole world turned white.
when she could finally see again and hear again, she heard voices and she felt herself being lifted onto a stretcher, "hold on... hey can you hear me...." a voice softly said to her, she opened her eyes to see paramedics and a flashing red light, she saw a body covered with a white sheet, "no......." Alyson started to cry unconctrollably.
she lost consiousness again, she woke up in a brightly lit room, her head, arm, both of her legs, and around the first part of her body was tightly wrapped.
her mother ran quickly into the room, "Oh Alyson...." she whimpered, hugging her injured daugher, "we came as soon as we heard about the car accident"
"car....accident?" Alyson asked her mother.
"yes...." Her mother replied.
"what happened...to kassy...and.. Kayley..." Alyson weakly asked.
"I... I wanted to wait until you were feeling well.... Kassy was killed and kayley's badly injured..." she noticed her daughter had fallen silent, "Alyson? Alyson....Alyson? Alyson?! NURSE! MY DAUGHTER!"
The nurse rushed into the hospital room and checked Alyson's pulse, "Coma...." she sighed.
"a....a coma? Alyson...sweety...wake up..." her mother urged her daughter.
but Alyson just layed there, frozen in a deep trance.
All Alyson saw was white...
"Alyson, are you listening?" A voice asked.
"Yes i'm listening. please talk to me." Alyson replied.
The voice seemed to come closer to her. Somebody appeared, Alyson couldn't get a look at him.
The person pulled her close to him, then she suddenly woke up.
Part 2 is yet to be written.....please tell me if you like this one, but alreast reply.
I really like it, you did really well mastering the wintery highschool atmosphere..It really felt like it was a cold afternoon, around a bunch of friends with ice all over the roads..plus their moods fit perfectly with the time of year.. I liked it, can't wait for the second :]
oh and the dramatic scenes were really cool.. D: poor kassy..

Part 2
Alyson looked around, "where am I?" she cautiously asked.
"in the hospital.....don't you remember?" her mother replied, "look...there's Kayley"
Aly looked to her right, sure enough Kayley was laying there, her wounds wrapped in bandages, she was slightly elevated.
she smiled as she turned her head over to Aly, "Hey...." she weakly choked out, "I...I'm so glad..that you're okay."
Aly closed her eyes, and before she knew it she had fallen asleep.
Kayley started to get worried, she slowly got up and got her crutches, she limped on them towards Aly. "is...is she alright, Mrs. Faren?" Kayley asked.
"yes...she's just asleep" Mrs. Faren replied in a soft tone.
The nurse walked into the quiet hospital room, "Kayley will you please lay down?"
Kayley limped back over to her bed and layed down, the nurse sighed and gave her a dose of morphine. "Alyson seems to be okay for now. but to keep you informed, we will be back in about an hour to bring her to Dr. Sturalk's hospital office to cast up her broken leg and brace her shoulder."
"Oh dear lord...you didn't tell me she broke her shoulder!" her mother exclaimed, hugging her daughter tightly.
"it's not broken. it's a little crushed up. but not so bad." the nurse sighed, "is any of this getting to you, Mary?"
"Yes it's getting to me....Anne." Mrs. Faren replied.
Somewhat, An hour later..
The nurse and the doctor walked in and set Aly on a diffrent bed, they took her to Mr. Sturalka's office.
Aly made a "no leave me alone" kind of noise.
"Are you alright, Dear?" The nurse sweetly asked, as she casted Aly's leg in blue plaster.
she helped Aly sit up, then she braced Aly's shoulder and around her chest to keep the brace steady.
She wheeled Aly back to her room and set her back on her own bed, then walked off. but first she looked at Mrs. Faren. "Mary, that'll be all." she saw Alyson wince in pain, she fell off the bed. Her mother supported her back onto her bed.
"you have to be more careful..." Mrs. Faren told her daughter with a frightened look in her eyes, she saw tears well up in Aly's eyes.
She sighed, "I need to go now...."
She suddenly ran out of the hospital room with tears welling up in her own eyes.
The nurse walked back in after seeing her younger sister run out.
She gasped, "I forgot about your head injury!" she saw the wound had opened again, blood seeping onto the pillow. she hurried and rushed Aly to the emergency room. she ran past Mary (Alyson's mother) and mistakingly didn't notice her.
Mary gasped and ran after them into the surgical emergency room, "WHAT'S GOING ON?!"
"Head wound I forgot to mention, just wait here Mary!!" The nurse urged, getting quite annoyed with her sister.
Several Hours later....
Anne (The nurse) Wiped the sweat off her head and pushed Aly on the bed out of the surgical Emergency room. "Ok Mary, now you can be obnoxious. your daughter is ok."
Alyson woke up from being under the Anesthetic, "Mother..." she winced, she saw tears well up in her mother's eyes again.
Anne helped Aly into a wheelchair and pushed her towards her room again, "Mary, I want you to take care of Kayley, it is time for both of them to go home. but I will send Karen with you to help you." Anne smiled, "I won't be able to take care of Kayley.. I'm sorry"
"Oh, it's alright." Mary sighed, as Karen helped Kayley into a wheelchair. they both wheeled them out of the hospital. "I'm afraid to drive...." Mary sighed.
They wheeled the two girls down the hospital sidewalk towards Mary's van.
"don't worry, if you don't want to drive I will" Karen replied, picking up Kayley and setting her in the van's back seat, then putting her wheelchair in the back where supplies go.
Mary shook as she picked up her injured daughter and set her in the backseat by Kayley.
Karen slowly backed the car away from the slick icy parking lot and drove onto Maple Avenue.
