I beg to differ..... It came out in what? 95 or something and it came on channel 9 and it was a ANIMATED series much like Batman:the animated series. It was done over here in america pal. If you referring to everything as anime (via takeing the word anime as short for animation) than yeah it is, but if you are takeing it as Japanese animation (aka anime, which i think you are referring to) than it is not anime. If that was the case my list would be a hell of a lot longer for animated toons in general

Well wrath guy its all in the taste of a person. You can't really judge someone cause they like hentai. Sex has been in art for ages, and hentai is just another form of it. That is unless, you don't consider animation a form of art.
Im not sayin i agree with hentai, I'm just saying that everyone has thier own preferences in art, and that hentai and yaoi are just two of them.

I'm not proud of some of my list, really. It involves many "Hey, you gotta watch this" moments, some of which are entire series. That's what happened with much of Inuyasha, Chobits, and is now happening (sob) with Naruto...

Azumanga Daioh As far as weird scenarios goes, I think this might be able to compete with FLCL. It'd probably lose, but it's in that ballpark... I generally can't take more than one episode at a time.
Big O Alright. I blame this all on one voice actor... that's the sole reason I watched this when it was on AS during the Month of Cable (MoC). I didn't really like it that much, but... Steven Jay Blum~! >>
Blue Gender ... Uh... it was cool?
Blood+ I was told to watch it, so I did. >> I really don't regret it.
Cardcaptors/Cardcaptor Sakura (I watched this RELIGIOUSLY when it came out... looking back, as far as clamp went it was actually tolerable.)

Cowboy Bebop + movie (:heart:) I shall say nothing for fear of ranting. Suffice to say you must see.
Digimon I admit it, I saw some of the first series, starting in the middle. I also saw the movie. While I do not endorse either, I still love the idea of spam being used as a lethal weapon (movie). (But I'd love to know how they knew his email...)
Dragon Ball I was younger, much younger, and I did see at least part of this show. It wasn't as awful as its descendants.

Evangelion I watched the movie. Or... one of them. >> Does that count? It was for a bet. Don't make me rant on this, please. (No, I don't like Eva.)
FF7 Advent Children English was forced, but I agreed hearing he was in there as Vincent... but I also heard it in Japanese. Not sure which was better/worse, really... they all had strikes for and against them. But hey, it had Vincent, Sepphie, and Red VIII.
FLCL Haruko-chan.... hehe. Who wouldn't like something this weird? You'll never look at Flying Gibson IVs the same ever again... or Vespas, for that matter. Especially yellow ones.
FMA Series + OVAs + movie... Bet you didn't see THAT one coming... Still. They all act really dumb in the anime, and I miss Aru's little asides from the manga.
Furuba (Fruits Basket)... I read the manga, and true to my nature, had to see what the seiyuus sounded like. I saw up to ep.7, out of 26, but I read the manga entirely. Toni-chan would bear nothing less...
GITS + movie... (Laughing man! Yay!)
Grave of the Fireflies I maintain everyone must see this.

Gun X Sword Alright, so I have a penchant for 26-episode series. But this one rocks. Plus... Van's a lot more like Spike than many would think.... anyway.
Hellsing Arucardu...... what? B'sides, it has weres.
Howl's Moving Castle (Seeing a Ghibli pattern?) The book was different... Calcifer wasn't cute, and the anti-war theme wasn't there... at least, not nearly as much.
Kiki's Delivery Service It was at this point that my mom insisted, as long as she was to watch it, that all anime had to be in English. Ah, well... at least I can watch the better version when she's away or doesn't care.
Law of Ueki I saw an episode, was really confused, saw another, was even more confused, watched another after that and gave up. Maybe I should have started at the beginning, but I DOUBT that would have helped. Trees out of paper wads and meteors out of magnets? Add to the fact you climb into some... creature's (?) belly to level up... discovered when combing Youtube for Gun Sword.
My neighbor Totoro The first anime I really saw, in second grade.
Nausicaä, Valley of the Wind I heart the ohm. And that glider, but Serif has dibs on that. Besides that, I love the long, sinuous flying jungle insects...
Noir The opening song and sequence rules.
Pokemon some of first season, and two of the movies. Both were with a friend I've fallen out of contact with who worshipped it, but took it literally. (I really think the premise had potential, but I loathe the show and am pretty fed up with Satoshi's version)
Outlaw Star ...I really don't know what the highlight here was. Was it the fact that we had bad guys, in addition to the Space Pirates, with the last name McDoogall? (SO funny when it's growled in all earnesty) Or was it Aisha ClanClan, a werecat? (YAY! C'tarl C'tarl...) Or Gene? Oooh, maybe it was Fred Lowe... O_< Classic. Anyways, you get the picture.
Perfect Blue Must see it. I don't guarantee understanding, but you must see.
Read Or Die Series, OVA and movie. Hey, they have interesting villians. Plus, The Paper rules. (So does Miss Deep, but I generally tilt my head at people who come with built-in personal floatation devices...)
Saiyuki You know, I really don't know why I watch the anime... I prefer tha manga on this one. Still... there are some priceless moments.

Mononoke Hime Or Princess Mononoke. I want a kodama. Basically, if you want to watch pretty things and backgrounds for an extended period of time, here you go.
Unico Uh... this is hard to explain. I'd rather not, actually. But he is pretty when he transforms. >> First movie was best. (It's a movie series.)
Whisper of the Heart Prequel to the Cat Returns. I liked it a lot.
Witch Hunter Robin Alright, I still maintain that of the things actually on offline during that month of free cable, this was one of the better things.
Wolf's Rain Uh... yeah. I saw some of this.
Zatch Hell .. er... Bell Two words. Invincible Folgore. 'nuff said. (80grit and I were in a hotel room watching this, wondering 'wtf?' and then proceeded to imitate the man's (and his little doll's too!) song/dance routine.. if it could be called that. I mean.... is this Chuckie's cousins toned down for a kid's cartoon? And what's with that horse?! Basically, I think it's bizarre, but I did leap to watch when told 'Invincible Folgore' was on... I still don't know any more than when I was five minutes in. It still confuses me.) No, I don't particularly like it, I'm just horribly lost, dazed, confused, and all that... it's great to make fun of with a friend.

Dragon Ball Z, GT, etc I saw Dragon Ball, and from what I remember, which is little, Picolo was a bad guy, Goku (WAY too many people with the prefix Go- in this series, which loses me completely... Goku, Gohan, Gojyo... oh wait, wrong anime...) wasn't a dead adult walking around with a little halo, and... well, it was still dumb, but not even vaguely worthwhile this time round. Vegeta and his vegetable squad... blah.
Inuyasha I finally heard the Japanese voices... NyteFyr (aka Deathwatcher) usually forces this on me in English. Then he yells at me for not watching. I HATE the voices... and that manga-ka scares me anyway. I have seen, thanks to him, the first, second and third movies, along with too much of the seies (about... five episodes?) I DID read the manga for a while, but that manga-ka, again, frightens me. Ranma was responsible for that.
Kenshin (some of it... and the movie) I read some of the manga, liked it, and then proceeded to hear it over the PHONE (NyteFyre, who else) with his running commentary on what AWESOME sword combo's being used... I swear, he ruins stuff for me intentionally. Maybe this will improve it I actually see the series, but I doubt it. Give me the manga anyday.
Kimba the White Lion Gorrad's sister again. It's right up there with Astro Boy, actually... I remember Astro Boy, though I really wish I didn't.
Marmalade Boy Admittedly, I watched this with the commentary, which was pretty entertaining. At least it was at 11:00 - 4:00 AM, hyped up on sour gummi worms, cake, ice cream and Tic Tacs... come to think of it, I don't remember much besides a bit of the basic plot.
Sailor Moon My friend, when we were younger, was OBSESSED. I even know the first and second Japanese opening... and a little too much, though I've tried oh, so hard to forget >_o
Team Titans I really don't know where I stand on this. 80grit insists I ought to watch it.... >> somehow, it doesn't feel like anime.
Tenchi Muyo Just the second movie, Daughter of Darkness. Nytefyre, of course.
Trigun Vash annoys the hell out of me. Either that, or the fact that I only saw it with Nyte's constant commentary...
Yu Yu hakusho (movie only) All I got out of the movie was the feeling I was missing something. That said, there was that one musical sequence...

It's probably a combination of the fact that nyte breaks out in Vash's laugh in the lunchroom (and he's LOUD), superflybs recites his entire name, a lot of people worship him, and that I've never had an opportunity to merely watch the show. If I'd seen it alone, I might have a different opinion.

If you probley watched the show alone you might have liked it and more than likely you would have liked someone other Vash the most.... Like me for Instance i like Knives, Millions Knives *what a name* and the Preacher man........ He has so much mercy *Inside Joke*.

the preacher man is Nicholas D. Wolfwood.

Therei s one guy in the manga, he is the same group as Wolfwood. His name Livio, (he looks like Grave form GunrGrave) He is ten times stronger and skilled than Wolfwood. He also has a strong ultra ego name Razlo.

Yeah i know What his name is but i call him Preacher man. Why? Because he is a Preacher or at least was a preacher at one point heh. And Knives name is kind of funny but the name fits him.


And there is a couple of exclusive characters for the anime and for the Manga i'm not sure on Zazie the beast but i think Caine the longshot was.
