Title: Look Alikes

Quig Alchemist - July 26, 2006 12:59 PM (GMT)
This topic came up when I was talking to Krazy the other day. She said that Vash the Stampede (Trigun) had the original blond hair, red coat look, and Ed stole it. I agree. My topic was to see if there were any OTHER characters that seemed similar that you'd like to discuss. This might have been a bad idea....

Avarice - July 26, 2006 01:06 PM (GMT)
does they have to be anime characters? just checkin.....

Quig Alchemist - July 26, 2006 01:15 PM (GMT)
No, any characters from anything that you can think of. See who stole who's idea first. See?

Missy - July 26, 2006 01:32 PM (GMT)
the anime Wolfs Rain reminded me of the animorph person who turned into a wolf...eh..i dont read a lot of those books but i remember there was a wolf person in the Animorph gang. (hehe i havent watched that show since i was like 7 XD)

Aly - July 26, 2006 02:13 PM (GMT)
haha.
 Lol.. Meryl (Trigun) reminds me of Ross xD

Missy - July 26, 2006 02:58 PM (GMT)
I think that the anime book Claymore copied off of Chrno crusades..it almost has the same plot line. Claire from Claymore is sort of like Chrno. she's a half demon trying to fight off Yoma **people eaters who are half human half monster that have silver eyes and possess supernatural strength but are condemned to fight their savage implulses or lose their humanity completely.** to protect towns and villages 'n' stuff.

Dark General - July 26, 2006 03:43 PM (GMT)
Meryl Strife was before Maria Ross Aly. And i much rather prefer Milly than Meryl. Actually i like Milly *laughs*

But i'de compare Voltron to Gatchaman

Chrono - July 27, 2006 12:06 AM (GMT)
Spike from cowboy bebop, & Van from Gun Sword . They look alike (except Van always wear a hat and never ever takes it off) but they are oppsite in personalities.

Spike is cool and active. Van is well......lazy like hell.

Theres also me an Wakka from FFXI. That guy took my look >:O even though technically speaking his olde rthen me, I lived before he was ever released..........Oh, and I don't have the big hair either, though I usuakky do have fohawk, which is kinda like that.

Krazydog - July 27, 2006 01:59 AM (GMT)
LOLZ, actually lately Animes and anime characters are becoming more and more cliched. Everyone got influence from something else. Look at all the animes. How many emo characters are there? Annoying violent girls? Girly guys? Exactly... Way too many. Also everyone has some tragic past, blah blah.

Square is quite unoriginal:
Terra from FFVI is ze original Aeris
Why? She is the final of her race, she has some secret powers, and their personality is quite familiar.

Rinoa Heartilly is the clone in appearance to TIFA Lockheart. And garnet is the chibi form of them too.

Quig Alchemist - July 27, 2006 01:48 PM (GMT)
*sigh* You're right Krazy. Far too many cliched characters these days....seems like non-anime watchers have more and more reasons to say that it's dumb and such. Where's the originality?

Chrono - July 27, 2006 02:50 PM (GMT)
Here is a copy cat: (chrono was created first) they both wear red headband, red coat, wears a balck undercoat, a red coat and have banges.

Let's see...I had a look alike a second ago, but now its gone....maybe it'll come back to me...

Michiko - July 27, 2006 04:16 PM (GMT)
Curses, I was about to bring up Spike and Van, but i was beaten to it. ^^; Alright, lesse.

People stole my character - but I won't get into that.

I'd just like to say this.

If Jin's hair color was a little different, and he let it down, they'd be twins! ^_^

Quig Alchemist - July 27, 2006 06:43 PM (GMT)
I googled "Trinity Blood" in images, and it also comes up when you put "Trinity Blood Abel Nightroad" in.

There twins!!!! hehehe smae smile and everything!!!

Dark General - July 27, 2006 11:49 PM (GMT)
They just have similar smiles. And the artist work of the concept of haveing closed eyes and big smiles while laughing is popular. But i suppose they do look the same.

Faith - July 28, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
I dunno I thought it was cool

Dark General - July 28, 2006 12:51 AM (GMT)
Don't get me wrong it is cool that they do look similar smileing like that. But i think it's more about the concept of the smile. Closed eyes with wide toothy smile. But they do look similar like that.

Michiko - July 28, 2006 04:18 AM (GMT)
Actually, with Van and Spike, I'd like to point out that they really ARE that similar, in not only looks but personality. The two walked different paths, and Van's bitterness has crept into his nature - he's not as inspired as he was, but more weary and indifferent.. and grumpy.

With Spike, he would easily have followed the same path, but it didn't turn out the same. He has his own bitter misgivings, although he tries to put up an air that nothing bothers him. It's not true, but...

Both have a devil-may-care attitude, and similar approaches to fighting. Hell, they MOVE similarly, even. And once Van's in Dann, and Spike in Swordfish, they're unstoppable. >> Usually.

Spike seems to me like a more optimistic version, although the similarities betwen the two are eerie. At least, though, Spike may complain about food, he doesn't feel a need to turn it into some impressionistic masterpiece using every condiment he can get his hand on...

Quig Alchemist - July 28, 2006 01:59 PM (GMT)
O.O I just remembered another one!!! Okay, we all know Alucard(sp?) from Hellsing, right?

Correction, Vincent was made way before Chrono was. Chrono had many variations before his time like in Chrono trigger, but its a fact that Vincent Valentine was created before Chrono from Chrono Crusade was created.

FFVII is an OLD game, came out when? 1996? 1997? Maybe even before that time?

they arent alike at all.
