When Envy smiles he is more wrinkly faced and nasty looking. But like Vivi said it's probley because the wronkles in his brow isn't showing like usuallly, or his nose is scruged up. So it appears more natural and younger looking.

Uhh... right... Shifter. I liked the Envy in the manga. More evil. More believable "true form." In the anime, the only good thing he did was... well.... perhaps stab the little shorty in the end. Even then it wasn;t enough,.

Yeah.. and everyone hates him for it. You know something that bugs me about the humunculi? They're always stated as the soulless... and yet I don't see it. You have to wonder how 'normal' people would turn out of given the same treatment - people running from you, abandoning you, etc. Like Wrath, as a case in point...

It's just the whole thing of 'running from your mistakes, not facing them, and then thinking of people - for by then they have a personality and everything - as mistakes' thatbothers me. If they were all a little more intelligent... I mean, some, like Mustang, didn't care they were 'created humans'. He just cared about their actions. That's a step in the right direction, at least...

Yeah, their actions and their behaviors and their emotions are way too real for a being with only a mind and body. I still think they have souls, even though it may not be theirs, or even if its not real. I mean the only thing thats different between humans and homunculus is that they cant use alchemy and cant reproduce. Other than that their body structures are the same except for certain enhancements.

But why? Why is alchemy banned to them? I don't understand that part, really... it's sort of a way of distancing them and making the audience... mrrr. And what's with the seal? SURELY there was something that doesn't look quite as silly... @.<

I think it has something to do with what Hoenhiem said. About how alchemy uses the "power" of dead people from the other side, where no alchemy exists. So using the energy from the other side, would create something that probably follows the rules of the other side, where no alchemy exists. I think thats why they can't use alchemy, and I think thats what Hoenheim said to Ed xD

Yeah.... but that 'shinji no shinjite ita' - the truth behind truths - bothered me. I mean, so what is Alchemy, then - bloodpathing?

Well in the anime, Dante said something about everyone having a gate inside them, Homunculus probably dont have one since they weren't born the normal way. No gate = No alchemy.

I'm moving to another topic... this is off-topic. We'll debate the nature of alchemy elsewhere.

Everyone knows Ed stole Vash's colors. Vash was the original bearer of blonde hair dressed in red and gold eyes.

Vash = The smex.

Kinda off topic, but I really want to point out this possible plot hole. (Most likely a plot hole)

In Episode 19 (I think that was the episode) Envy transmutes his arm into Ed's automail blade. HOWEVER! Blue Alchemical came out when he did it.

Oh, and in epsode 3 or 4, Envy is disguised as Cornello in the ending, and he somehow brings all those birds (only for a short time though, then they blew up :lol:) back to life.

So, it may be possible that Envy (though the chances are, what, 1%?) can do Alchemy. Or it may be just those little stupid plot holes.

He's a shifter so he didn't really transmute his automail, he only made it look like he did. The alchemy array was supposed to be a more added affect. Envy cannot use alchemy.

The revival of the birds was the same with lust when she can recharge red stones. Red stones can't full bring them back to life, it was only temporary. Keep in mind the birds all died after.
No plotholes.
