The Twist of the FMA Cosplayer
chapter one
the preperations

"wow! you look just like Eddo! imagine that!"
"yea, who knew? I knew my dads old red trenchcoat would come in handy someday!"
"oh, come here, the symbol on your back is falling off..."
"well fix it please, i dont want to go to the convention without my symbol..i'd look just plain old wierd..."

that was the conversation me and my best friend, Linda had before leaving to go to the train station. my name is ironically Edward, and i am a true blond, and i have true hazel eyes. I decided to dress up as one of the Elrics as soon as i found out about the Anime-Con. So i got myself some bangs, grew them out until they were just below my chin and scrummaged through old piles of clothes i had found in my room, and in my fathers room. I only live with my father and my younger brother, Albert. My dads in the war, leaving me my aunt to keep watch over us during the time period. The train pulls to a screeching halt, and with its arrival, it whistles a mighty tune...beckoning us into the stomach of the train. it wont be long now before we are at the convention!


CHAPTER TWO
THE CONVENTION

I hopped off the train and i waved to the people i sat next to goodbye. "finally!!" i said, extending my arms out wide. "i can really show off who my character really is!" i checked my newly bought Fullmetal Alchemist pocket watch. "well, we managed to kill three hours on the train...this thing starts at two i think and its already 1:30!" i proclaimed to Linda, who was wearing a Winrey cosplay outfit. "oh realx...oy! i should send you to the cosplayers nuthouse if you keep this up!" she says knocking on my head with her knuckles. I backed away from her and her pounding knuckles. "no thats not it..im just excited! i feel like a little boy in a candy shop! i cant wait to see other people dressed up as well...i wonder how many Eds I'll see today" I say putting my hand above my eyes as if i was scoping out the grounds. "nobody's here yet, only a few people!" I proclaim. "dont worry Ed..they'll start to fill in starting probably a few minutes or so.." Linda tells me. im so anxious to see everybody's costumes!

Wait, tis good in all, but I thought that you said your name was Melissa, and your were a brunette with blond highlights? Oh well, it is your story. Haha. I wish I could go cosplaying....

yes that is true my name is Melissa...and this is a story that i have written...see, he's just my character i made up...you understand now? :) :)

chapter three
the cosplayers dojo.

"Ed! come here! i found some stuff for sale!" Linda calls me over, as I hurridly run towards her, almost tripping over my dads trenchcoat. "coming!" I near her and sees what she has to offer. "its a special addition Edward Elric and Winrey Rockbell collection!" she holds up a medium sized box with many of the cast members inside. "hey look there's me!" I say kidding around, pointing to the Edward Elric in the box. "how do i look?...pretty handsome huh?" I say laughing, fixing myself as if i was using the doll inside the box as a mirror. I finally notice that more people are coming in...by the TONS! I gasp as i watch Power Rangers, Sailor Moons, Cubes, morphs and many other people unload a CONWAY bus. "Oh....My.....God...look 'it' 'em all! this is crazy!" I say as my jaw drops forty levels, just marvelling at some of the costumes. Some were really, really good, others were just...well...best way to describe them were ....BLECH. I had to laugh at a couple though. Many of them were desperate attempts to just make it to be recognized as the character they have chosen, and some...well...they were more experienced cosplayers....and right about now...im beginning to get hungry. "hey Linda, how's about getting something to eat?" I ask Linda, who was cooing over an Ed plushie.

I've never seen the cosplayers in real life, but as soon as I go to a convention, I CAN'T WAIT! They sound funny! ;)

hahaha! i've never been to an anime-con, but i make up an anime-con every full moon :) so i get to have an anime-con every like...once a month its cool! we need more people though...

chapter four
The Wait for Food.

"are you really that hungry Ed?" she sighed at me, giving me her 'disgusted look'. "fine..." she finally admitted "...im a little hungry myself...there's..." she began to look around the outside shops for a food stand. I had to cut her off from her dismembered thoughts. "here!!! over here! I want a Taco!" I say as i take her wrist in my hand and drag her over to the Taco stand. The line was almost long enough to say that it would take a while to get to the counter. "hurry up..Edward is hungry.." i say, reffering to myself. My foot starts to tap uncontrollably as i waited, smelling the freshly made meat, wrapped inside a soft shell..oh did i mention my mouth was WATERING at the fact of how it all tasted? i could taste it now...the minisculely cut carrots on top of wads of cream cheese...the lettuce....and....
"Excuse me, Ed, I like your show, can you sign my Anime Signature book please?"
I heard a voice behind me. it sounded like a voice of a girl around four years old. I spin around...low and behold, there she is, holding out a miniature Anime Signature book and a Sharpie. "sure...why not? I hope you like my show...its complicated work, but we make it allright.." I say as I giggle to myself. she really thinks im Edward Elric...from the show I smile. my costume must be great. i signed her book, gave it back to her and gave her a smile. she looked at the signature then back at me. "if you really are Edward Elric...then...can you transmute something for me?" she asked, all Innocent like. oh crud...now im stuck...so i think.

chapter five:
The transmutation miracle

the little girl's big green eyes stare into mine. "oh no...not ...dont...not with the eyes..." I say biting my lip. i cant preform ALCHEMY who am i to kid? I ask myself as I took out a random piece of paper. I had to make it look convincing. "see here? I will transform this piece of paper into a swan...now close your eyes!" I say shaking my head. It wasnt gonna work. I barely touch it and she opens her eyes. "your a phoney!" she yells, my jaw dropped hearing that comment. "oh yea!" i scream back, the paper blew out of my hand from the wind. i clapped both my hands together, As I tried to catch it only for the paper to be blown to the ground. "gotcha!" i say as my hands touch the ground. All of a sudden, the paper starts to shake below my palms. I lift my hands upwards..the paper follows. Something remarkable happened then...it started to fold in midair...as if i was controlling it with alchemy! There was a small 'dink' sound before it plopped into my palm. a perfect swan!..."hey little girl!" i called to her. "you..forgot your swan..." I smile at her, she smiled at me back. "so you really are him then?" I just shrugg as i watched her run off. Linda was there to greet me back in the line. it just so happened she saw the whole thing. "what was that?!" she said in astonishment. "I dont know...determination?" I asked bluntly. all Linda could do was shake her head, while I was still in shock...

"Phoney!" I wouldn't be saying that if I were her, and I REALLy thought that I was talking to Edo, I would prolly be hugging him, and would be like, "I LOVE YOU!" LOL! But that's just me.... :D

Chapter five
the transmutation miracle.

"FOODS READY!!" a woman with heavy makeup slopped a soft shell taco into a plate and served it to me on a red tray. my lip quivers as i take the tray. "this looks almost vile.." i say as I pay her five bucks. "keep the change...really...and go get yourself a new face while your at it too...or at least new makeup and a professional to put it on.." i say before walking away. "EDWARD!" Linda said giving me a pouty face. "I WASNT TALKING TO YOU, HONEST!!" i say defensivly, hoping she wouldnt smack me. Glad she didnt. we went over to a table and sat down. "so..Ed. tell me what happened...the paper folded itself and then what?" she asked. I look at her as i shovel the taco in my mouth, despite how disgusting it looks. "i dont know..." i say with my mouth full. "**muffle**clapped my hands and floo!**muffle muffle** into a perflect swan!" i say as i gulped down the food. "okay can we try that...without the food in your mouth this time? i couldnt catch a word you said." she told me folding her hands infront of her. "okay..what i said WAS that she asked me to do alchemy...so i took out a piece of paper...before she called me a PHONEY...**my face started to get red*...heh..anyway..the paper flew out of my hands...i went to get it...and it landed. so i went to pick it up but it followed my hand wierd huh?" I ask. "seems like magic to me..but...magic isnt real..." she said scratching her head. she pulled out a piece of paper from her notebook she carried around in her ANIME CRACK bag. "here...re-enact the whole thing...except..no dialoug...it'll be wierd..." she said placing it in front of me. "your crazy..." i say putting down my taco. "okay but its just wasted time...I just simply did this..." i say as i clap my hands and place them gently on top of the piece of paper. something Miracilous happens...it lifts off the table and into midair. "this is incredible.." she announces. I, myself am pretty amazed at the sight. it folds gently into a swan then back down on the table...folded. "woa..." i say to myself. "i know...alchemy I think.." my confused voice tells her.
