Title: Can Al sleep?
Description: ???

Quig Alchemist - May 2, 2006 08:42 PM (GMT)
Since Al's soul is bonded to the armor, I was wondering if he still had normal sleeping functions like humans. In episode six, The Alchemy Exam, it shows Ed and Al both sleeping in [seperate] beds. Was it really nessacary for him to have a bed, or was it another attempt to feel more human?

:kitty: <-----XD Al likes kitties! *giggles*

No he don't have to sleep because he does not get tired since he is trapped inside the armor. He don't get hungry, tired,or worn out in a fight. So basically it was an attempt to make him feel more human.

thats not a stupid question, some people just dont know stuff and it is rude for you to say what someone doesnt know is stupid

WELL, it's been explained in many episodes. I wasn't trying to be mean or anything. Like it says in my member title, I joke.

Winry: *Messing around with Als' armor*
Al: ...good morning Winry.
Winry: EIII!!! Al! You're on--- I mean, you're awake!

You don't know how bad that sounds.

Quig Alchemist - May 4, 2006 09:05 PM (GMT)
This actually wasn't my question, I was asking it for a friend, so there is NO NEED to burn me about it... <_<

It don't really matter if you didn't know if tey sleeped or your friend wanted to know. You got the answear to the question.

Avarice:I know you do.

Avarice - May 5, 2006 07:02 PM (GMT)
i have yet to not concur with you....and i don't think it'll be happening any time soon.

I think al can sleep but he canīt get tired.

AlchemistX9 - May 6, 2006 01:00 AM (GMT)
Al cannot sleep or get tired becasue his body dosent require rest and dosent suffer from fatigue.

I know that Avarice.

X9:It's explained in one of the episodes that he don't get tired because he has no physical body therefor he has no need for food. And he don't get tired, hunger, sleepy,or over worked.

Yeah... it's that creepy golem-ness. O.o

Still, it's funny when you see him and Ed in beds.. that always annoyed me. It's another plothols, I think. At times it looks like he's asleep, and the dialogue hints at it, and yet they say he cannot. Sometimes, I think there may be a mistake in the scripting.

But yes, what was said is correct.

Dark General - July 2, 2006 03:49 AM (GMT)
Okay i can give you one explaination why they always show him and Al sleeping in a bed. They show Al sleeping in a bed even though he is trapped in a armor they still try to help him maintain some of his humanity. By showing him sleeping in a bed they show how much he tries to hold onto what little bit of human characteristics he has.

That's what I thought all along.
