Title: Ghosts
Description: Anyone else believe in em'?

Seven Cardinal Sins - April 11, 2006 01:28 AM (GMT)
Anyone believe in ghosts? I do, and, well, to be honest...sometimes it just freaks me out. Really, think about all the people that "see" ghosts. They can't ALL be imagining it, and some ghost stories, just, are really...freaky.

Who else believes in ghosts? Maybe I'm just insane...

Xorital - April 11, 2006 01:42 AM (GMT)
im not possitive about this ghost thing but iv had extreamly freaky experiances that involved ghosts or some unseen force...it could be my immagination...but now that I think about it...it cant all be my immagination (their was to many experiances)

Dark General - April 11, 2006 08:01 AM (GMT)
I believe in them. Some things might just seem like your imagination at first. But once you see it a couple of times you relize it's not just you.

Xorital - April 11, 2006 04:54 PM (GMT)
I havnt had any ghost like encounters in a long time but they seem pretty real but sometimes I wonder if its my mind messing with me

xGhostx - April 11, 2006 09:18 PM (GMT)
Ghosts..I would like to believe they are real, simply lost souls, people not ready to cross over, and such..would be cool..

Xorital - April 11, 2006 10:04 PM (GMT)
it...would be interesting

Seven Cardinal Sins - April 12, 2006 12:12 AM (GMT)
Anyone heard the ghost story about the girl (Forgot the name) who got possessed by a demon or something, then died? When she died, her body had to be laid out for a few days so the demon could go away...

...then the body disappeared, and her father went out to the cemetery to look for her. He never came out of the cemetery and his body was never found...

Apparently, no one lives in their house anymore and if you go there there's an apparition (sp?) of a girl with evil eyes, just staring out the window, scaring away anyone who comes in...

And if you go to the cemetery in a car, flash the headlight a few times and call "Daddy!" a few times, an apparition of a man with a lantern appears and approaches your car, rumours say...

Anyway, I heard this on a TV program based on real facts, real happenings, real sightings, etc. Dunno if it's reliable, but the story really got me thinking...

Mistral K - April 12, 2006 12:38 AM (GMT)
i do belive in them, i have only had one encounter before though...and it was my aunt...she died a while ago..

Xorital - April 12, 2006 12:54 AM (GMT)
thats freaky as hell

Monchhichi - April 12, 2006 03:33 AM (GMT)
Hm. Again about ghosts. Seems like I have been talking to much about them to my friends. I scared them away. x]

A lot of people in my family faced real ghosts in their lives. So, of course they believe in ghosts. Strange things happened to them. One of my aunts said that after a few days that her father -my grandpa- died, she saw him in her dreams. He told my aunt to do something. However, she didn't do it. The only reason is that she could not understand what he was trying to say.

My another aunt. She saw a ghost in my parents' old house. She saw a young boy at night. She woke up, saw the ghosts, didn't know what to do. She just sat on the bed, and stayed still. She was so scared that she couldn't move. But, the ghost was harmless. The ghost smiled kindly at her, and disappeared. The next day, my aunt found a picture of a boy in that room she slept in. The boy in the picture died when he was little.

I believe in ghosts. I believe that they are spirits living in the afterlife. They are peaceful, not the "I am coming to get you" kind of ghosts. I believe that they do not harm humans.

My mother, however, does not. She told me a lot of times that ghosts do not exist. She even laughed when I cried at night, fearing ghosts would come and get me (Foolish me, I know. I was about 10 at the time.)

That makes me think. Is it a sin to think that ghosts do not exist? Would the spirits think that is rude? Would they be offended? But, really, the main question, do they actually exist?

We will all find out. Right after we face death.

Dread - April 12, 2006 03:57 AM (GMT)

I believe in Ghosts. My family has a lot of Ghost encounters.

My Aunt encountered a poltergeist in her old apartment. The type of Ghost that moved things. Her cabinets would open and close, her lights would turn on and off, and whenever she tried to sit in a chair it moved so she would fall on her butt. She called the Ghost, Charlie. It was a nice, mischievous, little poltergeist, and it never harmed my Aunt at all. But she moved away from there still.

Then, when my Grandma died, she appeared in my Mom's and (same one as before) Aunt's dreams and said goodbye to them and left.

There is just so many encounters I can't say them all.

Dark General - April 12, 2006 08:20 AM (GMT)
Wow so i'm kind of like some of you moms and aunts because about 6 months after my grandmother died and i was upset because i never got a chance to see her one more time before she died and because i didn't go to her funeral i felt really bad. This continued for a little more than week then one night i had a dream [which was really odd because i haven't had a dream since i was about 13] about my grandmother and the rest of the family on my mother side.In my dream my grandma told me that she was Okay and she leaving now [in the dream she just had came from the store with my moms and aunt] and she said that she had to go back out to get something.I told her to stay at home and let my mother go with my aunt but she said "No i have to go.Don't worry about me i'll be alright" was her exact words. When i woke up i had tears in my eyes but i didn't cry.

Xorital - April 12, 2006 08:08 PM (GMT)
theirs a story that made me cry, my freind she loved her grandpa alot and theirs not many members of her family that she likes, on her last visit on her grandpas house she said ''see you next weekend grandpa'' he replies ''no you wont, im dying, im dying'' and a few days later she has a dream her grandpa talked to her in her sleep about what she will see in her future and such...then he walks away into his room she runs after him but hes gone, she then wakes up at 11:30 to hear that her grandpa died that very minute.

(true story...yes my actual friend no one made up)

Seven Cardinal Sins - April 13, 2006 12:02 AM (GMT)
Family ghost stories eh? My family's had a few too, but only in dreams.

My great grandfather (Mom's side) was ill a long time ago cause of cancer, and he had dreams of seeing his wife, who was dead. (My great grandmother) Atleast, it's what he told my grandfather...

And my grandmother (Dad's side) is currently having dreams about her parents...though it's stopped.

Xorital - April 13, 2006 12:08 AM (GMT)
my ghost encounters are very strange...

xGhostx - April 13, 2006 11:18 PM (GMT)
oh xD this is cool..

Since my grandpa passes away my dad has really weird dreams with him talking to him and stuff, infact somtimes i think my dad has gone crazy..even if my grandpa wasnt in the dream he freaks out most of thee time .. oO i wonder whats so scary XD

Krazydog - April 13, 2006 11:39 PM (GMT)
Well, I dunno about actually SEEING ghosts but I know one thing for sure... when someone close to you dies, you have a tendency to have nightmares about it. And most of the time, its something very... well traumatizing. I mean, I get nightmares all the time but, There was only 3 incidents when I wake up crying from them.

When my Grandpa died, My family and I moved a few weeks after... The first night I stayed at my new house, I had a dream that I was in a hallway and my grandpa *who was the only one I was really clingy to* kept telling me not to walk down the hall to him. It was so weird, but I woke up cryin gfor some reason...

The other two times were very freaky... both during Church retreats *back when I actually went to church*. One, I had a dream that I was being crucified as one of the thieves next to Jesus on the cross. I was like, what the hell? I flipped out. I HAD NAILS GOING THROUGH MY WRIST AND LEG! And it HURT! Jesus wouldn't look at me, he was dead...

The last time, I couldn't remember much... it had something to do with religion tho >>;;

Ghosts, I do believe that if you die with something holding you back, you won't just sleep as peacefully as you could. I believe in spirits, but real apparitions? I dunno...

Yuzu-chan - April 13, 2006 11:49 PM (GMT)
I believe in them... and are scared of them. My cousin got haunted by my great grandma because she made fun of him...
and plus, there's been sightings on TV, and books. If they didn't exist, then how come in they're so much pictures?

xGhostx - April 14, 2006 12:06 AM (GMT)
thats like saying dragons are real.. theirs millions of pictures, yet where are they?..lol and the lepricons, faries! XD..sorry, anyway. its called photo editing..it wouldnt be very hard to do..

Lola Ray - April 14, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)
lol Roy xD got a point there

Anywho I've had only one ghost experience in my whole life. It was when I was 13 and in my mother's old house.
We had a small reunion there with other family members and it was realy nice. The house we were in had belonged to my granfmother and I've been inside it a lot of times when I was young. Anyway, I went upstairs into the bathroom so I could wash my hands because we had finished eating. I looked at things behind me through the mirror, just to have stuff to look at I guess, and then looked at the shower door. I did a double take, still looking in the mirror, and I saw that the door was moving slowly. Before I could think anything else, it slammed shut so hard and loud that I stumbled out of the bathroom, still looking at the shut door and instantly began crying. I felt my heart like.. really sink in my stomach and I was pale with fear. I was too scared to scream too.
I finally ran and told my mom what happened and she went into the bathroom and saw that the door was still shut tightly. She tried to open it but never could. It was just so weird.

It was some crazy stuff >.>

Well, I know the house is comepletely demolishd now because it was going to be anyway. I still wonder what ghost or spirit made the door do that. It was creepiest thing ever and I still get chills when I remember it.

Xorital - April 14, 2006 02:05 AM (GMT)
I dont fear ghosts, they cant exacly harm you but they can scare the living daylights out of you if they wanted too...but that is if they exist...and it has a hgih possiblity, speaking of my freinds went on a feild trip to a college today that was haunted, it is said that at the stairway in the autitorum people get pushed down the stairs because thats how the ghost that haunts the stairway died, and before my freind knew of this she thought she saw someone at the stairway but when she looked back she was gone.

Summoner Colette - April 18, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
Ah....What's the house called..?

Amityville horror, I believe. The best example of ghosts. Also the scariest, because it's true. Some of you are familar with the story. I learned my facts second hand, so they might not all be accurate:

In New York (I think), a house was built over the grounds where Native Americans left their sick and insane to die alone. The first family had a teen who was the PERFECT child. Smart kid, handsome, kind, all that jazz. In the middle of the night he killed his entire family in their sleep. When put on trial, he said that spirits told him to do so. He was found guilty.

The next family was not superstious. They moved in to what they believed their new dream home.

Things got creepy right off the bat. The family saw a tall man in all white in the kitchen. Shelves and doors slammed very violently without being touched. The rocking chair rocking on it's own when all the windows were shut. The family would look out the window and see eyes staring back out at them (This one really creeped me out, because my house has loads of windows in it.) Also, the dad when almost insane, like the honor roll kid.

Finally, what I find to be the scariest stories about the house. There all three:

A little boy in the family was walking through the living room quite carefully, and the curtains slammed down him. He was not walking near the curtains, so he did not trip over them. He was fine, but when the family inspected him, there were bite marks on his ankle.

The family dog (who was constantly whining. By the way, dogs as well as cats are said to have a sixth scent for this kind of thing) was always scratching at the basement wall. (Well..IT'S THE BASEMENT FOR GOD'S SAKE. It's gonna be scary!) The family, wanting to know what the deal was, torn down the bricks on the wall. It revealed a secret room. The walls in the room were smeared with blood.

And finally, the scariest out of all of them:

The family finally called a priest to bless the house. The moment he walked in, he started hearing voices in his head, screaming at him to get out. He ran, smartly. He tried to call the house later, but his phone, which typically had good connections, started getting really fuzzy and he couldn't talk. Then he heared moaning over the line. After the phone call, he got sick.

In the end the family fled the house leaving all of their possessions in it, after only living there for (I'm not to sure on the date, so correct me if I'm wrong) less than a month.

Creepy, huh?

:P

Anyways, my two cents on the matter are thus:

I am Christian. I believe in Heaven and Hell. But I believe that if someone dies an unclean death, they hate those who died peacefully and won't rest among them, but they can't stay alive with the people alive, so they envy them. So they remain on Earth and haunt the living. That's my belief. Nobody has ever agreed with me, though >_>

Xorital - April 19, 2006 01:41 AM (GMT)
if im not mistaken didnt demons possess the house and take over people? I may not be christian and such but this kind of thing does seem to be real (possession I mean)

Iv seen one of the Amityvil horror movie, pretty disturbing stuff and after seeing emily rose I was like ''d***....''

Mustang - June 24, 2006 06:04 AM (GMT)
I think i saw a ghost it looked like the grudge but i never saw the grudge at that time o.o it was dark so i turned on the light and it didnt go on so i walked into the ghost and the lights turned on the the ghost dissapeared.

My opinion on the family ghosts in dreams thing is that since they died or something you think about them a loooooooooooooot and you tend to dream about them. Like when me and my gf had our first kiss i couldnt stop thinking about her and always dreamt about her... yea....

Dark General - June 24, 2006 06:13 AM (GMT)
Yeah that's true but i didn't think about her passing away in a while. And just out of the blue it happened to me. And it was one of those dreams where you can hardly tell the difference from reality and a dream.....And i don't know how the tears got in my eyes even though i wasn't crying....

xGhostx - June 24, 2006 03:26 PM (GMT)
subcontious / supressed emotion or thoughts ? Those real-ish dreams are like.....@_@ freaky.. ( I usually die in most of mine tho xD )

i do belive in them, i have only had one encounter before though...and it was my aunt...she died a while ago..

There's so many ghostly people in my grandma's house.. even my grandma's two cats Snoopy and Mitzi who died when i was little.. you can hear them scratching on the walls and scampering around with toys.. i spent 3 days taking care of my grandma's cat, and i got scared right out of the house.. the refridgerator kept opening when i was using the stove, the front door opened once at 3 in the morning and someone walked in and shut the door, it's no joke about spiritual happenings, around 4 in the morning on the second night, i was petting sammy and i heard some whispering "kathleen? kathleen? wayne? wayne? where are you two? who's staying in this house?" i answered and said "Kathleen and Wayne schantzen are in a hospital in Fargo. and it's their 5th granddaughter who's staying in the house, it's nice to finally meet you, auntie gwen." and then i heard a few ghostly gasps from behind the entertainment centre and sammy licked my hand and meowed.. and then on the 3rd night, gwen bothered me for a little while, setting off the F.I.R.E alarms, starting up the oven, and turning the faucet on. my grandmother's house is full of people, you might not know what's going on in that room with the two beds, as Rissa said, two ghosts may be making out in there!
Ghostly appearances aren't jokes.. my house has ghosts that just linger in the basement and around me and my sisters's rooms.. Sorry this is such a long post, but.. GHOSTS ARE SO COOL! I TALKED TO ONE!! and i was right who it was! my auntie gwen! w00t!

It's okay if you don't believe this.. all you need to do is spend a night at Grandma Kathleen's house, and you'll be scared out of your shorts. but for people who like ghosts.. you'll still be haunted XD
when auntie gwen died, a spirit ball raced through my mom's room.. it was kinda cool.

Deception - June 25, 2006 01:26 AM (GMT)
I believe in anything, really open to most things, believing in many worlds even those that dont exist to us yet.
Time. Genetics. Physical. Mental. Astral. Virtual. Only a small list of some of the dividing realms. Too many shields we have broken...and only more will fall.
Who knows what happens after death, or what death really is, but i think it can be many things. For example, if life is a dream, which it sometimes seems to be, why and how is everything basically. I get way too confused trying to come up with answers to these things (as i do with almost everything) and finally i realize that trying to understand it all is pointless and can only lead to worry....but it makes quite a story doesnt it? If not but true.
Anyways, our dining room is haunted, the light only comes on sometimes lol, though it's probably just coincedence lol. However i believe ghosts exist, though i believe most things documented or pictured are fake, and just people who want others to believe them for the sake of it, or for fun......i could easily photoshop a ghosted image flare lol.....no i think the real ghosts are the ones witnessed by the ones who dont spread the word completely, who are visited by fallen loved ones who wished to see them again, or chosen somehow as needing a push through things spiritually..........or who knows.......i lost my train of thought somewhere in here.......but it is interesting to believe it isnt it? Still i never try the myths lol...well some...

Dark General - June 25, 2006 02:55 AM (GMT)
You are somewhat right Mustang...Though not everything can be explained with mere words, some not even with actions...

And i've been always told there is almost allways some type of truth to rumors..

Dread - June 26, 2006 01:59 AM (GMT)

My whole family have weird experiences with things.

Ghosts

My Aunt and my Mother saw/talked to at least one. Well, there Mother (my Grandma) died, and soon after, she appeared to them both at night, in their bedrooms, asking for a drink of water. Yes, a very strange thing for a ghost to say. Anyway, my Mom and Aunt went to go get a drink for her, and when they came back, she was gone.

UFO

My Aunt, my Uncle, and my other Uncle (They will be referred as Uncle 1 and Uncle 2)
were just sitting on a pier by the ocean, just talking, when a glowing white light kept getting closer and closer to them. Freaked, my Uncle 1 started to run, quickly being followed by everyone else. The light then started to chase them until they were able to safely get back to the beach house.

Due to all of these experiences, I believe in pretty much anything. Nothing is impossible, right?

Dark General - June 26, 2006 11:43 AM (GMT)
You are right. Nothing is impossible but it can be improbable.

Michiko - June 26, 2006 09:41 PM (GMT)
While I cannot confirm ghosts to anyone's satisfaction, I can say that I've seen far too much to NOT believe their existance... if at least in will... but then again, I wonder how much was just my imagination? Ah, well... I'll explain when I have time.

wow, tell them I said "hi".
I don't actually believe in ghost, but they do give an answer to some question.
like....
"where'd all the food go?"
"the ghost did it."
I couldn't think of a better example.

Michiko - June 30, 2006 01:18 PM (GMT)
There is, I suppose, a simple pltergeist story -

I was staying over at the house of a good friend of mine (liet's call her Lily). The two of us were in the living room, myself closer to the table.

I had a cup of crushed ice at the time, and had, before going to sleep, been taking pieces out and sucking on them until they were no more. (I do this, normally now with cubed.) THere was still quite a bit left in the cup when we cashed in for the night.

Please note - I was closest to the table, so this could not have been Lily nor her brother, who was in the 'back' of the house (it's literally two sections, front and back, and that is divided into parent's room, hall, bathroom and siblings' (divided) room)

We were asleep when the ice started dropping on us - in ears, shirt, wherever. Whenever one of us opened our eyes it quit, but when we decided to sleep again it reoccurred. At last Lily heard the ice and remembered, and I went and dumbed it out. No more ice attacked us.

That's one story, anyways... true, and since I was there I can vouch for that. There are a lot more, but I'm not going to flood you all.

Zeek - June 30, 2006 02:23 PM (GMT)
e i just have to ghost and they dont do anything theyres this tall lady in a weding gound and blond hair that i se everynow and then that just wlak around but thats all she does and theyres a cat thats always just running

Michiko - June 30, 2006 03:09 PM (GMT)
I've seen a cat... it only shows up in shadows. It's quite odd... it'll be running, and when sunlight hits it, it vanishes completely, but the parts that are in shade remain.

Dark General - July 1, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
Okay you got me a little distracted with the ice part so i had to reread it a couple of times. But is sounds like the ghost or whatever you want to call it wanted to play a joke with yall. That never happened to me before.

Michiko - July 4, 2006 07:47 PM (GMT)
That's what we thought. I've had other things, like a high-pitched mechanical squeal that increased in volume, a glowing circle on the window, and then a violent burst that left a perfect circular hole the size of my head in the window and glass everywhere... right as I passed by... and the phantom cat, and that one thing that keeps stalking me, (my friends have seen it too) and... eh. Anyways. ^^;

Have you had any experiences, sir?
