Title: Contest Suggestion Box

FoxBox - July 23, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
Here is where you can suggest a contest that we can do. All contests must involve FMA or be FMA themed.

stevo - August 30, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
Best Fma story. You can like write your own episode.

tasu - October 23, 2005 06:03 PM (GMT)
we should have a contest where who ever gets the most members to join and stay win....rules are simple, just get people to join and stay active the majority of one to two weeks....

Winry'sSis - November 15, 2005 12:20 AM (GMT)
I think it would be fun if we did a TRIVIA! Awesomeness! :D

~Lust~ - November 15, 2005 07:28 PM (GMT)
Hmm...well, I'd suggest like...a monthly Graphics Tournament, maybe, and a monthly Fanart contest...also, a Fanfics contest? Those are just a few suggestions...pretty normal, but I shall try and come up with a few more...

japanese princess - November 18, 2005 01:52 AM (GMT)
i think we should have a FMA facs contest where people have to answer questions regarding FMA episodes. This will be a good opportunity to see who is the biggest fan and who knows the most about it!!!! ( i think this will also judge and prove the loyalty of others towards this site) B) B) B) B) B) B)

the_elemental_alchemist - December 3, 2005 12:16 AM (GMT)
I agree excepr that people will probaly just look up the answers and stuff so it might not realy be liget.

japanese princess - December 5, 2005 12:26 AM (GMT)
Tru i agree there might be some sneaky bastards who might do that... well i think we should have a contest where we write some type of small essay regarding our love for the show or focus on specific characters from the FMA with some complemetry pictures. that way who evr has the greatest love for the show and have the best pictures to back their essay wuld win. that would be cool and fun at the same time. this would benefit b/c i know that their r some people who dont like to read alot so that way they can just look at the pictures and for the people who like to read, they can decide on both the pictures and the essay

kyraillion - December 16, 2005 08:56 PM (GMT)
Oh yea! Fanfic contests! Oh and TRIVIA!!! I'm a trivia nerd! All sorts of random information from that show sticks into my head! That would be great. And I think you should do another caption contest. I like all of the ideas, and I would probable do all of them!!!

FoxBox - December 18, 2005 12:17 AM (GMT)
A quiz could be nice, although you could just look up the answer. But I'm not good at making questions. We'll see.

Another caption contest sounds fun. I'll have to go around looking for a funny picture.

An Essay contest would be nice too. People can vote for their favorite essay. Yah.

japanese princess - January 4, 2006 03:56 AM (GMT)
Well thank u about liking the whole essay thingy. As for the trivia thing i already recommened that, but the elemental alchemist made a great reply to that. U see people can cheat by looking it up on the net. So that's way out of the question.

best FMA story may sound good what about about best poem? FMA or not? it could be like FMA and or anything else

kyraillion - January 27, 2006 10:46 PM (GMT)
Personally, I'm liking the idea of an essay. That would definately be legit and it would just be interesting to judge. I also like to do caption contests, so anything is fine by me.

japanese princess - January 31, 2006 01:24 AM (GMT)
I think another kool contest would be judging people signitures and/or avators. That would be fun, and kind of kool i think

FoxBox - January 31, 2006 02:07 AM (GMT)
Yea, something like that would be nice. But I would want them to make it theirselves and we all know what happens when you plagiarize.

japanese princess - January 31, 2006 02:27 AM (GMT)
oh man, have we learned from that. :D

So Yea i don't think we'll have to worry about plagarism, so that's something to consider! ;)

FoxBox - January 31, 2006 02:31 AM (GMT)
I'm thinking about having an essay contest and having people vote for which one they like the best.

japanese princess - January 31, 2006 02:41 AM (GMT)
Yeah that's a good contest,

hey wait, that was my original idea wasn't it? ;)

Yeah i would like that, but my thing is, do you think the people would want to sit and read an essay. I mean i know some people would read. But judging from the results that's going on with my whole character contest, some people don't like to read the rules.

But I still think it's a good idea.

Riya_Tringam - February 4, 2006 12:35 AM (GMT)
I strongly suggest a fanfiction contest.

Krazydog - February 4, 2006 01:17 AM (GMT)
Fanfic and Fanart contest.

Wait for fanfic, can we submit those we already made?

Riya_Tringam - February 4, 2006 02:53 PM (GMT)
I think we should be able to. If we have a fanfiction contest, we should have different categories, like multi-chapter, oneshot, peotry, songfic, ect.

Riya_Tringam - February 9, 2006 12:03 AM (GMT)
Actually, here's an idea....

Have a fanfiction contest, but the judge picks the plot or something like that. Whoever writes it the best wins.

FoxBox - February 9, 2006 01:30 AM (GMT)
That's a good idea Riya, maybe that'll be the next contest.

Riya_Tringam - February 9, 2006 12:20 PM (GMT)
Me? I had a good idea? Really? Truly? *Faints*

I hope so! *Crosses fingers*

Krazydog - February 9, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
You are creative, ya know. Even though you may say you're not.

Dark General - April 4, 2006 07:42 AM (GMT)
I suggest a quiz here would make some good rules:

1:The answear must be submitted withen a 5 minute time period (that's pretty good because even on google you have to know the right site to go to and what episode number and name.)

2:Certain questions for different group catergories.A mod or admin can over see the individual groups.
group for people who only seen eps 1-25,
group for 1-51 with no one haven't seen the movie,
group of people who have seen the movie and the entire anime,
and last Manga group. I tried to keep it minimal as possible.

3:make a poll for the active time users are on the site (ie:afternoon,8,9,10 and so on.)

4:Cens for each correct answaer (something around 2 to 5 cens a correct answear should be enough)

5:If a answaer is duplicated (like 1 min after each other) give the cens to the first correct answear.

6:The person who answeared the last question asks the next question (to keep a balance instead of just one user getting all the answears).

Those should be some good guide lines for FMA trivia.

????? - April 4, 2006 07:58 PM (GMT)
Also that would require a global announcement as almost every entrant would miss it.. :P

That's why i would ome up with a poll first to see what time the average user is usually on.You can kind of bass it off that info, but it still would have small kinks.

Riya_Tringam - April 9, 2006 02:51 PM (GMT)
Well, first of all, not all people get on at the same time everyday.

Second of all, all the different time zones would get confusing.

Third of all, a lot of people won't get a chance to enter.

I think a quiz wouldn't be fair to everyone. It would be better if it were just a fun things to do, not an actual competition.

I still think someone should make a fanfiction contest.

The Sharp Alchemist - April 17, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
1. A video clip for best Armtrong impersonation. THAT WOULD ROCK!!!

2. A video clip of a large fan following at your school or other place for fma, with cosplayers, T-Shirts, banners promoting the forum, and other various things!

3. best new alchemist / homunculi with a drawing, an explanation of skills (within reason),

4. best philosopher's stone

best fanart of a coupling from the show. with a rule against Roy x Ed or Armstrong x Ed, but Lust x Riza would be fine!

Chrono - June 9, 2006 06:14 PM (GMT)
AMV CONTEST?????

Michiko - June 9, 2006 10:31 PM (GMT)
An RP contest would be interesting, testing problem-solving and writing abilities...

????? - July 13, 2006 12:44 AM (GMT)
About the trivia, I could write a script that would automatically submit after a certain amount of time :o

duckii.mustang - November 25, 2006 08:35 AM (GMT)
I definitely agree with the fanfic/artwork idea, but to narrow it down a bit more, how about we have like themed fanfic/artwork? That way, for example if it were a fanfic, we could make them only one-shots, to prevent like unfinished fanfics, and they would be easier to judge. Sort of like errrr, LJ?

And as for artworks, maybe have a certain theme to it, or they have to have a certain object in the artwork?

Also, maybe a contest on who can come up with the best FMA quotes? And then like you can put a poll of the most popular, and that might help narrow down the winner?

Nyah. Not that great at making suggestions, am I @_@;;

Oneshots, definitely. They'd have to be...

Another option is to go for 50-word stories. I saw a collection of them once; they greatly impressed me. And they're really hard to write... To wrap an idea up, a concept, in fifty words is difficult. One person did it all in alliteration, a story about a widower coming home to find his wife gone...

Anyways, that's an extention to the one suggestion.
