I hope this is right ^^
OOC Name: Neo
Name: Stardust (Dust)
Age: 4
Gender: Male
Spirit Animal: Ocelot – Caidy
Appearance: Big and bulky, two great words to describe Dust’s first appearance. Dutiful and a bit scary are not far behind either. Though large for a wolf at even his age, Dust has other, softer qualities if anyone cared to get to know him. His face, long and handsome, carries what are truly the doors to his soul, his eyes. Both green emeralds give Dust his only soft appearance, showing others that he does in fact have some sort of recognition and spirit. The black, raccoon like mask across his face only deepens the color of his eyes, but can also almost hide them as well. His soft, but thick, grey fur match accordingly with his emerald irises and the dark mask that surround them. A snow white under belly and white speckled back also give an almost calm look to his usually hidden face and uncanny size.
While, on closer inspection, Dust can look friendly and just about warming, first appearance still holds the first judgment. His size, as stated before, is not because of the length of his fur but the build of his muscles. Having such a development in his build really affects his usual speed. Dust is meant for all out attacks and assaults, not stealthy maneuvers and surely he is not a runner, but has enough energy to help make up for it. His face, though sometimes friendly, can look menacing and bleak most of the time. His grin is also a bit unnerving. Long canines glimmer like long, newly polished ivory pearls. Even so, this is just for first appearances.
As just an over all look, for more description, Dust is pleasant enough to look at without feeling pity for him or being jealous over him. His round ears sit a top his head almost always erect. His tail, bushy with a black tip, flows behind him like apart of the wind, or like a ghost always chasing the grey mammoth no matter where he went. Because of his strong build, Dust doesn’t have the longest or most agile legs. Though his paws are pretty big, Dust has perfect enough stilts to run on without looking odd in any way but more just like a wolf his size should be like.
Personality: The way Dust looks doesn’t always help when trying to appear friendly. For most of the brute’s life he had been considered a bit freakish and every one knew him to be cold and inhospitable. Why would most think like that? Not even Dust knew why until he was told out right one day to his face. From then on, Dust kept to himself. His face was always hidden, some say the mask was put there on purpose and that it covered up some demon thought to live behind it. Cold and inhospitable, that was what Dust was turned into by his old pack. He couldn’t truly trust anyone, but was never fully alone. Dust hates being alone, after the death of his older sister it really showed him how little he had in life’s never ending game. With such a small part to play and with such a small look on life, Dust really over does himself. He is a survivor, willing himself to move on in the world and find something better to do.
In recent account, Dust really has tried to make up for his ‘pathetic’ existence. Everybody else’s happiness always and forever would come before his. Why? Well, everyone else has a more important role to play and they deserve to go first if it means that the future ahead can only get better. It’s kind of sad that Dust would really lower himself to such a level, but other things regain his self-esteem. Such things would include his intelligence. Dust only acts after he thinks everything through first, making him self aware and cautious, not to be caught off guard. He is also patient, with a bit of a natural joking side. Another great thing that really makes him Dust is that Dust doesn’t submit. That is one happiness he will not fulfill. No matter how important, unless there is a good reason for having to submit, Dust hates the feeling. It’s just a reaction now, after so many years of being looked down upon. It’s also been a promise to keep. Before Dust’s older sister died she told him to really live life, make other people happy, and don’t let anyone try to enslave him ever again. Dust promised, and he keeps his promises.
History: Dust never had the best of life. His mom died giving birth to himself and his two older brothers while his dad was ran out of the pack by his own brother not long after the alphess was stolen by an angel. That was the term Dust used at least. “Mama was stolen by an angel, wasn’t she?” As a pup, it was really heart breaking to hear, but as he grew the stories then flew.
“No angel took your mother,” the alphess said one day to the eight-month-old pup. “A demon took her away and dragged her to hell.” The new mate to the alpha was terrifying, and eventually, at the age of one, pleaded with her mate that the two oldest sons needed to go. So, they were run out like their father before them, leaving Dust pretty much alone. He had his sister though, and it really was all he needed.
“They called me a demon today sis, after that hunt. They said it’s not right for a wolf of my age to be so big, and so destructive…” Dust’s sister hated hearing him say things like that, and hated the pack more for saying it to him.
“Don’t let them get to you Dust, they’re just jealous. In my eyes you’re special, an angel from heaven. No one will change that, and it shouldn’t even.” Dust would always remember that warm grin, even now in recent times, to dream about that was better than to dream about the constant scowls of his old pack members.
“No… No I’m not sis. A demon took Mama away, I know because I am that demon.” There the conversation would stop and Dust would spend the next hour or so alone running over what ever hit the pads of his large paws.
Soon the taunting got worse, but Dust put up with it best he could. As long as he had his sister there it wasn’t so hard to deal with. The table only turned one day when war broke out with another pack over land and hunting rights. Dust was a major help to his pack during the war, and he fought and killed bravely just to come home the same way as when he left, a demon in his own families’ eyes. His sister still thought otherwise though, not letting her brothers drowning misery take him away forever.
After that it happened so quickly. Dust was reaching his second year of life and his older sister was claimed to be a traitor. She was supposedly helping the other pack and giving away important information while ‘corrupting’ her younger brother and trying to make him join the other pack with her. A decision was made, and She was to be run out of the pack. She refused though, not wanting to leave Dust behind. So, she was killed instead. Her brother reached her too late, not knowing about what had happened until after he got back from another major fight. He was able to say good-bye at least, and did so as best he could.
“Please,” Dust was sobbing. “Please sister, don’t go.” None of the other pack members were around; they said they had better things to do. “Don’t let the demons take you too.”
“Don’t worry Dust, don’t worry. I don’t see a single demon here, not a one. I only see an angel, come to take me away and back to Mama.” Dust’s sister spoke softly, almost inaudibly. “Promise me something Dust, please, promise my something.” Her voice hurt Dust and he really didn’t want to hear her like this, to see her bleeding to death like this. “Promise me you’ll live you life the way it should be.” She had to breath then before going on. “Make those you love happy like you’ve made me, make them laugh and enjoy their lives as well.” One last breathe. “And don’t let the true demons corrupt your life, you’re free brother. Do what you want now, forever until an angel comes to take you back to heaven… where you were always meant to be.” It was then that everything went silent. Dust howled bitterly once, it was all he needed to do. After that he buried his sister best he could and left his pack.
A month or so later, long enough for the pain to finally start to fade, Dust say the strangest creature he’d ever seen. It looked like a cat, small, golden and riddled with black spots. The eyes were dark, but warming in a way and it’s voice calming. The cat spoke softly to Dust as if they were long time friends. At first it confused Dust, but soon comforted him. He wasn’t alone anymore, and he had someone to talk to. Mainly though, he wasn’t afraid anymore and was already heading for a new life, though it still never felt like one…
“Hey, Ocelot…” Dust looked at his new friend that was really like a part of him now with curious green eyes.
“Hmm?” The golden cat replied softly, as if afraid to break the silence.
“Do you… do you have a real name? It’s kind of odd really, not calling you by a name.
“I really don’t need a name to tell you the truth, and what’s the point?” The feline still spoke softly, her eyes looking at Dust warmly like a proud mother filling out the curious mind of her son.
“A name makes you different than the rest, it really gives the impression that you are somehow important. At least, important enough to name.” Dust spoke softly now too, getting used to the silent conversations they tended to have.
“There’s still no need for one,” she said flicking her tail around her a bit amused at the whole conversation herself.
“You’re important to me though, and you deserve a name…” Dust was a bit persistent and stubborn. His new friend really did deserve something more than being called just ocelot all day.
“Then give me one,” was all the feline responded with.
Dust smiled, not even having to think about the name before saying it. “Caidy,” he simply said himself before smiling a warm smile toward his friend and new sister.
“Caidy it is then, just like your sister before,” Caidy said softly before returning Dust’s warm smile.
