Title: An Unpresedented Move!
Description: Ha. Just look at it.
Calypsis - April 1, 2008 09:14 PM (GMT)
Okay guys. Here's the deal:
My character, Calypsis, is not the alpha type. I don't really want her to be the alpha. Soooo, that leaves TWO open packs in need of alphas.
But, I also don't want this to be the typical popularity contest for the alpha positions. So what I'm thinking is..................PLOT! Why not have a sitewide plot? Calypsis can for some reason or another, step down from alpha and have another wolf take over the position. And some character, can ICly step into the position of alpha of the other pack.
I know that is probably the vaguest plot ever in the history of plots, but I want you guys to have a say in what goes on also, I don't just want it to be like "LOOK! This is what's going to happen. DO IT."
So, what do you guys think?/Are there specific things you'd like to see in the plot?
I'd kind of like to see some shamanism/earthy magic-esque things happen, since you know, Calypsis is supposed to be a shaman after all...
Antiquity - April 1, 2008 09:25 PM (GMT)
Humm, maybe some type of spirit tells Calypsis that the alpha postion is not for her, or it will affect some sort of prophecy or something, and she should step down/up into her shaman postion instead, and focus mainly on that, and into healings, discovering, or whatever they do =D
Skarldemarsh - April 2, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
Yes, a good idea. I second Tick.
Just realsied how funny the previous sentence sounded.
Anyway, yeah, the spirits could tell Calypsis that to be a Shaman is her true path in life, and she should hand her current position over for the good of all.
Snow - April 2, 2008 12:36 AM (GMT)
I like the idea being thrown around, but could I add a bit onto it? :)
The spirits could be the spirit animals. After all, they are there to guide the wolves. :D And maybe with that they might play a bigger part in the plot, too. Though it would have to be something reasonable, since they aren't the main players. Maybe their ideas could sort of be played out through who they are guiding.
I'm trying to come up with a more in depth idea to throw out for the actual plotline, but that's all I got for the time being. :P Maybe someone else can go off of my suggestion. :)
Rhayven - April 2, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
Or maybe..like a White Spirit Bear or Wolf come to her dreams ( a really rare thing since we aren't aloud to have large creatures as spirit guides). And tells her she will only reek havoc if she stays alpha, and that she can protect others better is she resigns to Shaman....
Just an idea to add on XD
Sage - April 2, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
What if she started to get these dreams or visions that had these god like figures come and speak to her where she is not ment to be Alpha, and give her a prophecy of the gods that in order to stop some ultimate doom she must step down and warn the population of wolves.
uhm.
I have a prophecy idea. let me type it up later.
*plots in her head*
Saosin - April 2, 2008 02:56 AM (GMT)
Oh! i really like that idea! ^^
I don't mind volunteering Sao up for Alpha. :x i mean, i know he's only a year old, but i think that would be kinda interesting.. you know? since he's so young. it could cause a ton of conflicts.
but then again, one year might be TOO young.
maybe Sao could take up alpha with somebody else! another male, preferably. and they could rule together. ;D
Sao also used to be into herbalism, maybe a bit of the shaman stuff with Saharon, so -shrug-
Calypsis - April 2, 2008 02:25 PM (GMT)
Ooo, I like the idea of a prophesy...makes for a good extended plot without being overbearing on regular roleplay.
Okay then, here is the plan, we need people for alphas then.
We'll need two in the end, but I also want to know if you would like to be alpha of a specific pack, for example if you would like to be given the alphaship by Calypsis, or if you want to take over the other pack.
Keep suggestions coming for a prophesy idea...I really like that route.
AHHH! I have such a good idea for the first post of a plot-related thread.
Antiquity - April 2, 2008 02:55 PM (GMT)
Haha. Well I'll offer one of my characters up for alpha as well xD
preferably Ximun. I dunno how Antiquity would hold out.
Besides, Ximun is the sex. hehehehehe.
what kind of prophacy are we thinking, Calypsis?
xD
Calypsis - April 2, 2008 03:14 PM (GMT)
I'm not sure, perhaps some mutation to the virus that causes rabis like symptoms in the wolves...
Maybe a massive, general movement away from the old teachings (the spirit animals, etc) causes the earth to become angry an a massive earthquake opens up...
Who knows!? The possibilities are endless.
ayita - April 2, 2008 09:59 PM (GMT)
I'd love Ayita to step in as an Alpha, Maybe take over for Calypsis? Since they've met before I'm don't know. Katy Maybe we could work out a plot for that or something.
Ximun - April 2, 2008 11:26 PM (GMT)
-pushes Ximun infront of the line for alpha and whistles innocently-
ayita - April 3, 2008 01:42 AM (GMT)
Katy I want to run an Idea by you. Could Ximun and Ayita stumble upon the unclaimed pack and forge an alliance and some time shortly after become mates? Kinda a cool idea.
Saosin - April 3, 2008 02:32 AM (GMT)
As i said before, I'd like a joint ownership between another male and Saosin for one of the packs XD if anybody likes that idea ^^ or Sao could run a pack by himself, but he's a bit young.. i'm also thinking that if the first idea goes through, maybe Calypsis could be told to hand the pack to Sao and said other male? :3
Skarldemarsh - April 3, 2008 09:30 AM (GMT)
I'd honestly volunteer Skarl, because he has the brains, but he doesn't have the personality.
But then again, the propect of setting his own rules might tempt him... But he'll need a real lot of persuasion.
</stupidness>
Calypsis - April 3, 2008 03:28 PM (GMT)
Hmm, what if, Ximun and Sao take one pack, and Ayita or Skarl take the other...perhaps Skarl could the Beta of one pack since you said he doesn't really have the personality?
Tick, is it okay with you is Sao sort of...um...'interned" as alpha and co-ran the pack?
Does that seem like an okay solution to everyone? And then work a plot around that...
Saosin - April 3, 2008 04:23 PM (GMT)
ayita - April 3, 2008 07:05 PM (GMT)
Ximun - April 4, 2008 01:02 AM (GMT)
I dunno.
Hehe.
Marie and I were thinking of having Ximun and Ayita co run a pack =/
Skarldemarsh - April 4, 2008 11:50 AM (GMT)
If Skarl was made a Beta, he'd have to follow rules, which means he'd be outta here in less than a minute.
It's the fact that he doesn't want to become a follower -- doesn't want to have to be loyal. He likes the freedom of choice.
Ximun - April 4, 2008 03:09 PM (GMT)
Well that might be a problem. Because Ximun is the type who even if he was dubbed leader he would still act like it.
haha.
I dunno =/
Calypsis - April 4, 2008 04:50 PM (GMT)
Well, Tick, I'm not sure.
What if...........Ayita is the Alpha Female and Ximun the Alpha Male, Sao tags along, and then Skarl can be the leader of the other pack?
That should make everyone happy?...? Maybe.
Sage - April 4, 2008 05:53 PM (GMT)
I have a few idea for that prophecy written out. I'll type them in a bit for you Katy.
Sage would be willing to Co-rule with Sao. C: We could have some back story with the two of them and Sage could be all - "NOTOUCHIETHEBROTHERDUDES" although they wouldn't really be brothers, just close like brothers since what I remember from reading Sao's profile backround he doesn't really have brothers.
But Sage would make an interesting Alpha. xD Hes a bit whacked in the head, but he's loveable. At least he will be when I get as far as comming up with a post for him.
*hums*
What if the spirit animals turned against their companions?
Or maybe a Beta. I might keep him a loner though. He could be this freaky prophet who was supposed to be trained as a shaman but his elder was killed in some freak accident. Anyway, I've got to do some things. Be back with more ideas. C:
Terralee - April 4, 2008 08:38 PM (GMT)
I would volunteer my Terralee if you all were not so far into it... After all, she's searching for a group of wolves to call family! ^_^ And she's really down to earth. Except that she fights with her spirit animal like they're an old married couple (though they always end up laughing about it...)
I could think of somethings for plots... A "Second Comeing" of some creature/being held sacred by the wolves. A sudden darkening of the sun. A hurricane/monsoon/ginormous storm hits and they all must band together to survive... Stuff like that... OH! Maybe a Caesar-type plot!
Sage - April 5, 2008 12:10 AM (GMT)
Tak's Prophecy:
Forged of earth, ice, and flame
Wild land once turned tame
A path is open
The seeker comes
The child’s outspoken
Brings consequence of great sum
When stars fall and blood is shed
The shaman will prevail.
A new night is bold and silent bred
The wolves must not fail.
A shaman is led.
From among their own,
A traitor is named,
Another seed is sown,
Sin becomes claimed,
Another path is thrown.
Across the lands a pack is torn,
Ex-members now roam free.
Yet another painful thorn,
The loner’s blood becomes a new sea.
Death awaits a certain few,
Yet life shall rise among dead.
Those who seek a new cue,
Shall hang balance by a thread.
Torn by war, and hate, and greed,
To survive all must fight.
Bound by faith and love and hope,
A pack must again unite.
Thrust from home,
The mutants roam.
Always on the edge
They can never be free
Until the final pledge
A dying breed will emerge from ash,
New futures are written in stone.
The two packs shall no longer clash,
Neither shall fight for the throne.
From four ways of life and new shall come,
Shaman, Traitor, Loner, and Pack;
A new womb is grown.
The truth is nailed through the bone.
Peace shall rule,
A foreign tool;
The child of new blood shall purge,
And bring forth the final surge;
Blood fallen, blood stolen, blood taken, blood awaken.
The true prophecy shall come,
When all else is thought to have been won.
ayita - April 5, 2008 02:50 AM (GMT)
Katy I agree
Ayita alpha female, Ximun alpha male and sao beta? or something. Sounds good to me if its good with the others. then we only need to worry about the other pack. Could Ayita and them have the unclaimed pack?
Snow - April 5, 2008 03:31 AM (GMT)
I wanted to jump in for a second and state my concern about the whole deal with picking Alphas for the packs.
I know some wolves will be better qualified for the positions and all, but I'm hoping that both packs don't have Alphas with similar beliefs. Since those of a like mind tend to stay together, two packs with happy-go-lucky Alphas will draw in wolves like them, and others like my Snow, who is used to being misunderstood but longs for a place of welcome around others like herself, wouldn't feel entirely comfortable around someone who smiles 24/7. :(
I had kind of planned on her joining the Kardovi pack since the landscape is better suited for her snowy owl spirit animal, but if the Alpha isn't suited for her I guess Haze could live there and Snow would live in the other pack or elsewhere.
I just wanted to bring that up. I haven't really been keeping up on what everyone was posting here, so sorry if something along the lines of pack personalities have been mentioned already. :)
Ximun - April 5, 2008 04:12 PM (GMT)
I agree as well =D
And snow, if skarl becomes a leader of one of the packs, then I think that would be alittle different then Ayita and Ximun, because Skarl is quite the character. =)
Shanti - April 5, 2008 04:13 PM (GMT)
Dont really have much to imput here, as my charrie and her mate would not make good alpha's and I hardly know your guys's charaters, I need to go and read them all xDD
Anyways I just wanted to say that;; Sage, your poem for the 'Tak's Prophecy' is awesome <333
Sage - April 5, 2008 07:31 PM (GMT)
Thank you. C:
Tak is my ooc name. I didn't know a title for it. xD There are two others, but they aren't typed yet.
Calypsis - April 5, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
Snow, not to worry, I agree wholeheartedly.
That is one of the main reasons that I made the ranks for the packs be determined by the actual alphas, because I don't want the territory to be the only difference in the packs.
SEMI-FINAL DECISION:
This isn't permanent persay, but I feel like if we just keep going back and forth about alphas, the plot will never actually get underway. Again, keep in mind, I do want the ranks to actually shift, so if a character ends up in the Alpha spot, and their activity falls off or the character isn't suited for the alpha spot, feel free to challenge the position.
Skarl will take control of the Kardovi Pack as alpha male.
Ayita as alpha female, Ximun as alpha male, and Sao as a tag-a-long will take power in the Vallix Pack.
Now, here is another route that could come out of this whole prophecy plot...how do you all feel about designated "wolf gods" similar in nature to the classic greek gods, a.k.a. a god of destruction, god of fertility, god of the rivers, etc.
Do you all want these or no? I played around with the idea a LONG time while making the site, and if they were made, they would have their own accounts that admins would have access too, so if you wanted, you could have a thread with the gods themselves. They would pop in from time to time a help/scold characters, etc. etc. What do you think?
Sage - April 6, 2008 01:15 AM (GMT)
If you want gods, I'd suggest having "festivals" for the gods, perhaps every wolf could have ties to a god and celebrate these festivals, but having them al l the time does put a major strain on the Admins and people controlling the gods.
ayita - April 6, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
I think its a good idea. I really like the the gods idea.
Ahas - April 6, 2008 04:04 AM (GMT)
U-hrm...if we're going to base the "gods" off of Native American culture, can we try to make them specific to one Nation and be sort of precise? Seeing psuedo-native stuff is sort of annoying. :-/
Skarldemarsh - April 6, 2008 09:12 AM (GMT)
Well... I suppose Skarl would make a nice change from your everyday benign-or-murderous alpha male, but he's not going to suddenly contradict his previous beliefs and grab hold of a pack/start one.
I love the poem.
Terralee - April 6, 2008 03:41 PM (GMT)
Sounds cool to me. And I love the prophecy poem, Tak. I never can get them to sound that nice...
Calypsis - April 6, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
Well Skarl, the final decision is yours of course. :) I'm certainly not going to force anyone to play a rank they don't want to. If you don't want to be an alpha, you don't have to.
Just let me know, I was under the impression that you wanted it, that's all.
Skarldemarsh - April 7, 2008 09:16 AM (GMT)
No, I didn't /really/ want it... I just thought maybe I could help out by seeing if he could "inspire" another to become the Alpha through IC plottishness.
So, yes, now that I made myself clear... Anyone needs a random, "evil" wolf to help'em out?
Gypsay - April 7, 2008 06:22 PM (GMT)
Salvatore is my male. He is huge, massive, a sweetheart and well, he is so sweet he might not even realize Skarl as 'evil'. His little Guide might tell him, but he woudl be like 'naw, he's a good guy...'
it could make for some interesting plots. Like Salvatore the great sweet leader who is all peaceful while Skarl is like rubbing his paws together and toying with other wolves minds.
Once I get my new laptop (and I know I am on Gypsay's account...but my computer died last week and I have no way to get online until I get my new laptop) I can be on like everyday again. Sorry about this, but this plot sounds kickin.
Skarldemarsh - April 8, 2008 08:31 AM (GMT)
Well... Nice way of putting it, "rubbing his paws". XD
Trouble is, he doesn't want to go looking for a pack to tear up. Maybe if some of Salvatore's pack members got on Skarl's nerves, he'd want revenge. That's gonna be cool.
